Pros

I can't think of any advantages.

Cons

When I joined the company, I forgot to check it on GoodJob, but after only a few days, I felt that the company was very strange. The turnover rate was very high, and although I had used my computer for less than six months, several people had already used the email account on it!

The company also gave me the feeling that it was monitoring its employees!

I didn't really like the owner cooking breakfast when I went to get some water. I always felt that she treated this place as her own home, while the employees were outsiders.

The owner was very friendly during the interview, but in reality, I had no idea what she was thinking.

I feel a little sorry for the colleague who trained me, because she was also about to resign at the time.

I heard that she had worked there for four years. I really think she was amazing!

Too many cons!

Cons

During the interview, they said the salary was 35K, but after I resigned, they said that you only get 35K after the probationary period—during the probation period, it’s just the basic salary! A little over 27K (I recorded it! Come argue if you disagree!). So is the approach to trick people into joining first and explain later? The Labor Standards Act doesn’t even have any such thing as a probationary period!

Pros

1. Relatives and friends all work at the company, so every move you make at work is accompanied by a warm family atmosphere and abundant care.

2. The work environment is clean, tidy, and quiet. You can experience the atmosphere of condensed air without having to go to a high-altitude area.

3. The computer hardware and software are configured as they were about eight years ago, allowing employees to temper their character and cultivate patience.

4. The colleagues seated nearby change from time to time, allowing you to get acquainted with outstanding people from all walks of life in a short period.

Cons

None at all

Pros

1. Colleagues are all very easy to get along with

2. Salaries are stable and never delayed

3. Severance pay is provided upon dismissal

4. They don’t dare violate the Labor Standards Act

Cons

1. You can’t clock in exactly on the hour, otherwise you’ll be considered late. They use this point to continually demand that employees arrive at the company early. Even when there is no unexcused absence, taking leave—annual leave, personal leave, occupational injury leave, or sick leave—will later be used as a reason to dismiss employees.

2. The warehouse inventory is always inaccurate. They do not manage product quantities at all when taking orders or shipping. There are hundreds of different products, yet every time employees have to count them manually and then report them to the Taipei office. It is extremely inefficient.

3. There is no meal subsidy; you have to pay for your own meals. The meal allowance listed on the payslip is fake. The originally agreed salary—for example, NT$30,000—is not NT$30,000 plus a meal allowance; rather, it is calculated as NT$30,000 including the meal allowance.

4. There are no employee trips. I worked there for more than three years and there wasn’t even one, either domestic or overseas. If you take annual leave to travel abroad, you may be dismissed.

5. The company has neither an annual banquet nor a spring banquet, yet it gives employees gift items from another company’s annual banquet. Great.

6. At other companies, the year-end bonus is one month’s salary; at this company, it is one-third of a month. Really great.

7. After finishing all the shipping orders for the day, you can’t look like you have nothing to do. You have to pretend to be busy and put on an act; otherwise, you’ll be called lazy.

8. Even if you stay for a long time, you won’t get promoted; you’ll only be replaced by an arrogant parachuted hire.

9. Looking forward to this company’s future development. I heard that the parachuted manager plans to replace a group of the original employees. Impressive.

10. Employees’ continued employment or departure depends entirely on the boss’s mood. Wonderful.

11. Working hours can be changed whenever they want. Very flexible—what a bonus.

12. They like to find useless little trinkets to sell at extremely high prices, so they never sell well in the end and become trash stockpiled in the warehouse.

13. The warehouse is unbearably hot in summer and unbearably cold in winter, with lots of mosquitoes and fleas.

14. They love dismissing people yet often say they can’t find anyone. Once they find someone, they dismiss another person, so they are perpetually understaffed in an endless cycle. They also like asking employees to recruit friends and relatives, but then can’t afford to hire them and have to reduce working hours.

15. The boss says the company’s products have night-market prices and department-store quality. In reality, they have night-market quality and department-store prices.

By the way, the newly hired manager said the company office is very small~ and the warehouse is like a ruin~ Please improve things properly. Don’t let people who have worked for Japanese companies look down on you, you fake Japanese-style company.

Pros

*There is a bidet toilet

*The environment is fairly clean

*There is a kitchen available for use; you can cook anything

*The refrigerator can be used, but the owner will check it at any time and post photos of the food on the general bulletin board, asking who put what in the refrigerator

The lunch break is 1.5 hours; everyone eats and then goes to sleep. Great!

*The employees are all champions at bragging contests. The more impressive their claimed experience, the more the boss pays them (and she never verifies it either—those who can brag can become executive assistants or managers immediately, while those who cannot brag can only rely on their abilities and get promoted step by step)

*A happy company; there is no need to hurry to place orders when items are out of stock (employee motto: “No stock means no stock”)

*You have to wait until the boss finishes work before you can leave (otherwise you are considered an uncooperative colleague), but usually everyone will be gone by 6:20

*As quiet as being in prison

Cons

*There is no employee welfare committee, yet a monthly welfare fee is deducted from employees’ pay.

A former employee has already filed a complaint with the Labor Bureau and subsequently recovered the welfare fees deducted over the previous year (former employees, remember to bring your pay slips to assert your rights)

*The fire extinguishers are expired, but the finance, administration, and HR manager replied: “The boss says they can still be used.”

*You will often see the boss sitting behind the glass-walled office, staring at everyone while doing nothing

*There is absolutely no system; your life depends on the boss’s mood

*There used to be Taiwan-made products, but after a spouse from mainland China joined the company and found beautiful low-cost products from the motherland, product quality complaints increased, and the Taiwanese factory that had cooperated with the company for many years immediately had its orders canceled… sigh

Pros

Pros

Very suitable for people who enjoy the following three kinds of lifestyles:

1. Expanding your social circle

2. Embracing adventure

3. Challenging the unknown

Cons

1. High turnover, so you may not remember what your colleagues look like

2. Inventory controls are not very accurate, so you may not know whether an item is available when the order is finally shipped

3. You must be having terrible luck for the boss to be unhappy with you for no reason; please seek employment elsewhere

Pros

1. There are bidets and snacks.

2. No matter how many people criticize and complain (for example, the negative reviews below, all of which describe things that really happened), management remains consistent, with such unwavering conviction. It is truly wonderful and deserves recognition and encouragement.

3. Management’s likes and dislikes toward you will be very obvious, so there will be no two-faced behavior (although it is hard to say the same about colleagues). To thank you for your contributions to the company, management will help you escape the sea of suffering as soon as possible by laying you off, so you do not have to continue enduring hardship. This allows you to better cherish and appreciate what you currently have. How painstakingly thoughtful—truly considerate.

4. The way salaries are paid is very clever. The base salary is set at a fixed figure, and then other items (e.g., overtime pay) are added to reach the salary originally discussed. So whether or not you work overtime, you receive the same salary—it is practically an act of benevolence!

5. By observing the people around you, you can learn the secret of earning a high salary through talking alone, without lifting a finger.

6. You can quickly gain insight into life and discover what kind of job you truly want.

Cons

So good that there is nothing bad to say.

Pros

1. Nothing much—only the freedom to use your lunch break as you wish.

Cons

1. During meetings, we only listen to the boss lady tell stories; once the story is over, the meeting ends.

2. There are often problems, and they’re always your problems. If something goes wrong, you’re left to figure out what to do.

3. The most painful part is having to prepare data without any rules or definitions. The data is always judged based on whichever figures the boss happens to prefer.

4. In any case, the rules and regulations are changed constantly, day after day.

5. Most people who leave have been there for less than six months. Anyone who stays for more than two years is probably someone who regularly works overtime on holidays.

Pros

1. Apart from the outdated computer equipment, the work environment is otherwise very good.

The toilet is equipped with a bidet, and the kitchen has a microwave, gas stove, rice cooker, and other appliances available for use. A cleaning lady tidies up every day.

2. You can often see new faces. Even now, you can still see an average of 5–10 new faces each month.

3. The boss’s wife has tremendous power; those who win her favor rule the world.

4. The boss’s wife is considerate of employees and often buys snacks and treats for them.

5. There is a birthday party every month, with more cake than anyone can finish.

6. The female managers who have been with the company for more than five years are all nice—about three people in total.

7. You can learn various techniques for practicing the art of Tai Chi—figuratively speaking, ways of deflecting responsibility.

8. There is one fixed employee trip every year. They are all quite fun, and the food is excellent.

9. The company atmosphere is like that of a civilian government agency: calm and slow-paced.

10. There is a lot of repetitive work, so it is easy to become proficient. There is no need to rush to achieve greater efficiency.

11. To emphasize once again: those who win the boss’s wife’s favor rule the world. As long as you curry her favor, reaching senior management within six months is not just a dream.

Cons

1. The responsibilities and authority of the company’s various departments are unclear, causing employees to push work onto one another.

2. Many long-time employees have perfected the art of deflecting responsibility, pushing all the work onto newcomers.

3. One manager in a fairly senior position at the company actually cannot do anything. Everyone knows it but dares not expose it, because the manager sometimes wins the boss’s wife’s favor. The manager’s greatest skill is gossip: the topics cover everything, including the company’s past secrets, matters concerning the boss’s wife, and the private affairs of the company’s “royal family.” It is used to make small talk and build familiarity over tea; even if you do not want to listen, you still have to.

4. Internal announcements are issued frequently, but there is no visible improvement—everything feels like a mere formality.

5. People are constantly coming and going. The person in front of you today may not be there tomorrow, leaving everyone on edge. You often only hear that someone else has been laid off, but you may not even remember which person that was—they leave before you have time to remember them...

Pros

1. The environment is clean and tidy, and a cleaning lady comes every day to do the cleaning.

2. There is a kitchen where you can cook. The eggs in the refrigerator are available to use for cooking.

3. Occasionally, the boss’s wife buys snacks and fried foods after work.

4. Small snacks are regularly placed on the dining table for everyone to take.

5. Relations among colleagues are fairly harmonious.

6. It is quiet and easy to fall asleep during the lunch break.

Cons

The boss’s wife seems to enjoy conducting mass interviews and then arbitrarily dismissing people. She fires employees entirely according to her mood, and when the end of the probationary period is approaching, she maliciously dismisses them for strange reasons. For example, she says that people are urgently needed, but once the staff is fully assembled, she claims that the company needs to downsize.

On average, five people per month are maliciously dismissed. What is excessive is that she tells them to leave that same afternoon; at best, she gives them a few days to pack up. Severance pay is provided, and a certificate of termination is sent to them immediately.
