Pros

They’ll steal your ideas and use them! During the interview, they tell you they won’t use your proposal? Don’t worry—the result is that not long afterward, you’ll see your proposal content go live and running == Absolutely ridiculous. Then they also try to slash the salary by 6,000–8,000. Unbelievable!

Also, during the interview, the senior manager kept spouting English nonstop, and it was all abbreviations. Please—there are several job titles abbreviated as PM alone. What exactly is going on with discussing things with interviewees using a bunch of English abbreviations from your own company?

And then their attitude was so arrogant! They kept saying, “So your xxx (what’s that in English?)”

Cons

Interview question

Q: So what is your BTL?

A: Who knows what their English abbreviation is supposed to mean?

Interview advice

Don’t write a proposal or plan! They’ll secretly take it and use it. Everyone, stay strong 👍

What a strange company. They make it sound as if the company is very wealthy, but then can’t afford to pay the salary and still want to slash it drastically. What a joke.

Pros

I really can't think of any.

Cons

The base salary of 33,000 advertised in the job posting is highly misleading.

Only after asking did I find out that, according to this company's logic, the 33,000 base salary includes performance bonuses for meeting targets.

Does anyone at this company actually understand what “base salary” means???

If they don't even understand such simple Chinese, how do they have the nerve to require applicants to have at least a junior college degree???

The interview was conducted by the store manager.

They just kept making empty promises.

When I asked about things like overtime, they wouldn't give a straightforward answer.

It left a very bad impression.

I don't think I would go even if they sent me an offer.

Pros

If it’s a larger location, the pay is pretty good.

Cons

The company’s delivery logistics often run into problems. You’ll be answering customer calls all day long, even on your days off, and you shouldn’t expect your coworkers or the company to help handle them.

Whether the store manager is good or not makes a huge difference. A good manager will help you soar, while a bad manager will make every workday feel like hell.

Whenever something goes wrong, it’s your fault no matter what. Headquarters can slack off without consequences, while the frontline staff has to clean up the mess themselves.

Unless you’re a masochist, I wouldn’t recommend applying.

Pros

The position I held was a sales engineer at a department store counter.

I really can't think of any advantages.

Please look directly at the disadvantages.

Cons

Low pay and lots of work, while the company keeps cutting bonuses.

The back-office departments are completely slacking off.

No one knows whether there is stock, or when the technicians can deliver the goods.

Orders are also frequently missed.

However, whenever there is a customer complaint, the company decides that it is the salesperson's fault.

Salespeople have to bear the responsibility themselves.

Either you drive to the customer's place to help with the installation yourself,

or the customer files a complaint and the department store fines the company, which passes the cost on to you.

This is why the job requirements say a driver's license is needed.

If a customer's renovation is delayed and the delivery is postponed,

the company may even take the goods away and give them to someone else.

The company requires a delivery date to be provided for any postponement.

But if the customer's renovation is delayed and the delivery date is uncertain,

the company considers this an unconfirmed delivery date.

The goods are automatically deferred to the next customer, and they will not reserve them for you.

When the customer needs the goods but the supplier is out of stock, you can only accept your bad luck and bear the customer's complaint.

Those with experience should not assume that they can negotiate with the supplier either,

because suppliers have no authority over who receives the goods. Who gets the goods is entirely determined by the company's procurement department.

Procurement listens only to the company's senior management. This brain-dead system was decided by senior management,

so there is no point in arguing.

Just take all the positive news written in the media with a grain of salt.

Basically, current employees just laugh it off when they see it.

They have never held any expectations for the company.

Pros

The position itself is a sales engineer at a department-store counter.

I think the advantages are as follows:

1. Since most counters are located inside department stores, they are usually in places with convenient transportation, so you generally do not need to worry much about commuting.

2. The company subsidizes employee health checkups. The subsidy depends on seniority and job level.

3. There are performance bonuses. The amount depends specifically on your monthly personal “gross profit.”

Cons

First, the sales division of this company is entirely based on individual performance.

Therefore, issues that easily arise from individual performance,

such as competing for sales,

will all occur here. I will not elaborate further.

I genuinely recommend that anyone considering joining read the following before deciding.

1. The company does not stock enough inventory and often cannot fulfill orders, because many of the company’s products are not stocked at all. Sometimes, even after including the quantity of display items, there is still not enough to fulfill all orders. As for what happens in such situations, I would rather not say more for fear of being sued. You can ask friends who have worked for a while at appliance retailers or department stores.

2. The transaction contracts the company signs with customers use a method similar to futures contracts. In other words, calculations are based on the costs and gift promotions in effect when the goods are delivered. Although this can sometimes result in higher profits when product prices drop, it also means that if a product came with a gift at the time of purchase, the gift will appear on the order, but the promotion may have ended by the time the customer receives the goods, making it impossible to provide the gift. You will then receive a customer complaint. This type of contract is highly contrary to “the customer’s intuition.” In addition, the company’s basic inventory is generally insufficient. Most importantly, “the company only retrieves orders that are due for delivery within three weeks.” If an item happens to be out of stock when the order is retrieved, there is probably nothing that can be done. Only apply if you can tolerate this.

3. Company supervisors are practically unable to handle stockout issues. The company generally uses what is known as direct shipment from suppliers, meaning suppliers ship directly to customers. This means that if the original manufacturer is out of stock, everything comes to a standstill. Since the company does not stock products, there is no way to obtain them if the supplier is out of stock. Company policy prohibits transferring inventory between stores. Product labels in the system are also unclear, and sometimes products from suppliers the company no longer works with are not even removed, resulting in orders that cannot be shipped smoothly after being sold.

4. The seniority system is severe. Only apply if you can tolerate it.

5. Although the company’s own purchasing costs are the same, the final transaction price and method can differ greatly depending on each department store’s contract and promotions. Anyone considering joining is advised to first review the promotional terms of each department store. Bonuses are calculated based on gross profit, so stores with lower commissions and better promotions are more advantageous. Customers are often taken by colleagues at other stores because of differences in promotions.

6. Basically, each counter is run as a dictatorship by its store manager. Therefore, before submitting your résumé, I recommend asking around a little about each store manager’s working style and “character.” The quality of the store you are assigned to can make a very significant difference. As with the previous point, anyone who wants to “win at the starting line” and “be born into the right family” should definitely pay attention.

7. The new system recently introduced by the company is extremely difficult to use and frequently encounters bugs, causing employee complaints.

8. Information about the inventory status of many suppliers is often not communicated in a timely manner.

9. For the company’s specific situation at any given time, you can refer to a certain Facebook fan page. Search Facebook for the company name “Jiashe” (集雅社), and you may be able to find a fan page where employees expose issues or vent their frustrations. You will know which page it is when you see the page name.
