Looks pretty in their own opinion

Cons

Those who know how to curry favor do nothing, while everyone else is so busy they can barely cope⋯⋯

The assistant manager likes to PUA employees. On the day I was giving birth, I went into labor halfway through work, and she was still half-convinced⋯

While I was still in postpartum confinement, the branch manager said to me: “Congratulations! However, after you finish your confinement and return to work, you can’t pump milk because we’re short-staffed at the counter. Also, we don’t have parental leave, so if you want to stay home and take care of your child for two or three years, you’ll probably have to resign⋯ MD, did I even ask about any of this?

Why is Taiwan’s birth rate so low? It’s because of you company executives collectively causing this!

Pros

The supervisor's manner and attitude were good.

Cons

I applied for Position A, but was ultimately assigned to interview for Position B.

After the interview, the written test required me to complete an entire software project covering the front end, back end, database, and information security within two days (including the weekend), while also specifying the frameworks to be used for each part.

The key point is that this position was open to fresh graduates, and more than half of the people interviewed were recent graduates looking for their first job. During the interview process, it became clear that they had had almost no exposure to these commonly used industry frameworks.

I really don't know what kind of talent your company is actually looking for...

A bank that strictly enforces a seniority-based system, yet its average salary is also toward the lower end, and it has the highest turnover rate among new hires.

https://www.cmmedia.com.tw/home/articles/16616

Cons

The founder's理念 is good, but when frontline employees implement it, the culture becomes distorted. The farther you go into rural areas of central and southern Taiwan, the more serious it is.

Infighting among frontline supervisors is one thing,

but I have heard of senior employees, when in a bad mood, calling subordinates into a meeting room over a trivial matter and berating them for two or three hours without letting them leave.

Such an absurd situation has not yet been reported to the media; the employees are genuinely kind.

Frontline supervisors with personality problems treat their subordinates abnormally and criticize headquarters departments all day long.

Yet after a few years, they can still be promoted to branch managers. Impressive.

Perhaps headquarters knows nothing at all; it only knows how much each unit's performance has increased.

But this also reflects the bank's true corporate culture.

With the seniority culture being abused, is this a suitable place for recent graduates to seek employment?

Every year, it recruits several hundred newcomers and several hundred newcomers leave.

Perhaps the statistics have already provided the answer.

Clean.

Lower interest rates.

Cons

Interview:

The interview was fairly thorough, but it was a group interview.

Work:

On my first day, it was windy and raining heavily, and the security guard still stopped me outside. The first-floor lobby was completely empty.

There were also someone else’s belongings on the desk, and the computer couldn’t be used.

A senior colleague even mouthed off at me. With such a lack of respect, why should I call him “senior”?

During training, when I pointed out that the senior colleague was wrong, I don’t know what he was getting upset about.

There was also someone who left halfway through a class and came back to ask whether he could make up for it by working overtime.

You have to report to your supervisor before leaving work. If the supervisor doesn’t come, does that mean I can’t leave work?

I admire the people who work there.

The headquarters restrooms provide sanitary pads.

Individual seating.

You can leave work on time.

Cons

In the past, a female manager at headquarters privately obstructed a newcomer from attending training. Later, one day when HR came to headquarters for an inspection, the newcomer told HR what had happened and was then able to attend the training smoothly. However, the female manager did not let the newcomer off, so she called the newcomer in for a meeting before the training ended. Before the newcomer left, she even mocked them, saying, "With me here, don't even dream of passing the training."

During the training, there were some unfair situations, such as unfair dormitory assignments. If you sought help from HR personnel affiliated with a different faction, you would not receive any assistance either. In addition, personal belongings could be taken by roommates (competitors) at any time, such as the banknotes used for practice.

Pros

There are mugs.

Cons

After the interview, I immediately received a “verbal offer.” I said I needed a few days to think because I had other offers as well.

At least I could learn about the bank’s know-how.

So I emailed the HR woman surnamed Chen asking, “Would it be possible to push the start date to next month?”

The HR woman surnamed Chen replied, “What date?”

I then replied to E.SUN’s HR department, “The start date will be x/xx.”

After that, HR never replied again.

I thought they probably weren’t short-staffed and had ghosted me, so I went to look for another job.

Then, on xx-2, the HR woman surnamed Chen called and asked, “Would starting on the xxth be okay?”

I was completely confused: “Since you didn’t send me an offer letter, I assumed you probably weren’t hiring, so I’ve already found another job. Sorry.”

The HR woman surnamed Chen said, “But I replied to your email at the time.”

I said, “No, you didn’t. You never replied after I sent the email—I can guarantee that.”

The HR woman surnamed Chen said, “Oh, I went abroad last week, so I may have forgotten.”

I thought, ‘You can even forget an offer letter? You really shouldn’t work in HR.’ But I still replied, “Okay, then, let’s leave it at that.”

This HR person is seriously unbelievable. It made me so angry.

They say what comes to mind

Cons

I interviewed while still employed (Digital Finance), and the interviewer actually took my résumé and asked about the highest-ranking manager in my current department!!

I was immediately called in for a meeting and threatened. Is it really not even okay to test the waters in the job market?

Pros

I received a mug, and the reception staff were quite polite. Overall, it was a pretty good experience.

Cons

The corporate culture feels extremely conservative. Employees are required to wear uniforms at work (perhaps this is common in the financial industry, but if you come from a technology background, you might find it very unfamiliar). They place greater emphasis on time spent at work than on work efficiency... People who are too outgoing or have unconventional ideas may not be a good fit here.

Pros

Cons:

1. The corporate culture is extremely conservative, to an almost unbelievable extent. Senior managers like chanting slogans and making lofty pronouncements, while employees can only sit below and listen all day.

2. There are an enormous number of meetings; it would not be an exaggeration to say they take up half of your working hours.

3. The company is unable to retain talent. A major reason is that the thinking of vice presidents and managers is difficult to predict, leaving employees extremely frustrated and frequently misunderstood. Senior managers also have poor memories and can never seem to understand what employees are doing, partly because some are not trained in the relevant field or have never actually done related work, resulting in a complete failure to communicate.

Pros:

1. You can make friends, and there are many young people.

2. New hires' salaries are considered quite good compared with those at other companies in the same industry.

According to a classmate, system personnel must be on call 24 hours a day. Whenever there is a problem, a group is formed on LINE, and you must deal with it immediately whether you are on vacation, sleeping, or off work (you have to treat the company as your home). When you return to the company, you must review and document the previous day's incidents in an incident report. There are too many forms in the work process, and SPs are exhausted from rushing around handling incidents... This may suit people who like typing and handling paperwork, such as responding appropriately to supervisors. You may spend the entire day writing reports and conducting reviews. My classmate went abroad for a study tour, so I'll ask again if there is anything special to mention.

Working in Yushan Information Services, the company complies with the Labor Standards Act. Overtime is paid, and compensatory leave can also be requested. The company is willing to invest time in developing new employees, and supervisors are also very willing to guide them. Opinions on the corporate culture vary. One difficulty at work is that the efficiency of electronic documents exchanged between departments is too low, often delaying development schedules. In addition, business units frequently underestimate software development timelines by at least half, which often results in developers working overtime.
