There are mugs.
After the interview, I immediately received a “verbal offer.” I said I needed a few days to think because I had other offers as well.
At least I could learn about the bank’s know-how.
So I emailed the HR woman surnamed Chen asking, “Would it be possible to push the start date to next month?”
The HR woman surnamed Chen replied, “What date?”
I then replied to E.SUN’s HR department, “The start date will be x/xx.”
After that, HR never replied again.
I thought they probably weren’t short-staffed and had ghosted me, so I went to look for another job.
Then, on xx-2, the HR woman surnamed Chen called and asked, “Would starting on the xxth be okay?”
I was completely confused: “Since you didn’t send me an offer letter, I assumed you probably weren’t hiring, so I’ve already found another job. Sorry.”
The HR woman surnamed Chen said, “But I replied to your email at the time.”
I said, “No, you didn’t. You never replied after I sent the email—I can guarantee that.”
The HR woman surnamed Chen said, “Oh, I went abroad last week, so I may have forgotten.”
I thought, ‘You can even forget an offer letter? You really shouldn’t work in HR.’ But I still replied, “Okay, then, let’s leave it at that.”
This HR person is seriously unbelievable. It made me so angry.
