1.5-hour lunch break
Colleagues are easy to get along with
Convenient transportation, with plenty of dining options in the food court downstairs
The boss loves to lecture and thinks the company would collapse without him. He brought in all the business—which is true—but he likes to keep saying it publicly, and it gets exhausting to listen to.
1.5-hour lunch break
The boss often treats everyone to coffee and occasionally lunch. The company has a coffee machine, and the beans are pretty good too.
Starting at six, he begins urging everyone to leave work.
Hopes that everyone can make money
The boss is rather impatient and will chase everyone for information.
Very good at talking, but focused on the task. You need to build your own stress tolerance, otherwise it will be exhausting.
1.5-hour lunch break
1. The boss is an irritable old man who constantly sends messages and makes phone calls to control employees, regardless of working hours. He repeats the same things over and over and frequently verbally abuses employees.
2. The manager got the position only because she is the boss’s girlfriend. She cannot do anything and only fake-smiles and pretends to work. She is extremely disdainful toward newcomers, but when you are leaving, she puts on a friendly, auntie-like act.
3. The longest-serving employee in the company speaks unclearly in heavily accented Taiwanese Mandarin and has outdated ideas. She deliberately withholds training from newcomers so they will get scolded. If you ask her a question, she immediately starts loudly berating people, showing none of the maturity or composure expected of someone her age and experience.
4. The accountant has a strange personality and is very good at ordering people around. She uses her age as leverage to make younger employees do tasks that are part of her own responsibilities.
5. During interviews, they tell sales candidates that there are bonuses, but in reality there are none. The boss only tells you that you are doing a great job, while taking the clients for himself.
6. The company’s equipment is extremely old. The chairs are peeling and their wheels are broken, but they still are not replaced.
7. The daily business-trip allowance is only NT$600. If a trip falls on a Saturday or Sunday, you can only get one day of compensatory leave, and they do not even pay overtime.
8. There are an excessive number of surveillance cameras inside the company. I heard that the boss monitors employees’ computer screens and has placed voice recorders to listen in on coworkers’ conversations.
9. The atmosphere at work is very gloomy. Coworkers do not chat with one another, and if you become too close to a coworker or develop too good a relationship, one of you will be dismissed for no reason.
Coworkers are easy to get along with (the boss is very exploitative, so we can only stick together).
1. The boss has bipolar disorder, is stubborn, and nags constantly (with foul language); one salesperson was once berated for half an hour, with lots of profanity mixed in.
2. The manager is the boss’s romantic partner and cannot do anything; they only make small talk and fake smiles.
3. One senior employee refuses to keep up with the times (and does not accept new things).
4. There are no performance bonuses and no year-end banquet (although both were promised during the interview). There is only birthday money, and after the Lunar New Year the boss even starts work early to save on red-envelope payments.
5. We are frequently asked to help with miscellaneous tasks for the association, all of which are urgent.
6. Whatever the boss wants must be provided (usually at very short notice). Regardless of the position, everyone has to listen to the boss.
7. The boss said they wanted to hire a manager who could “really manage things,” and claimed they had been unable to find anyone for six months.
8. Employees are dismissed; I have seen one administrative employee and one salesperson let go.
9. Turnover is extremely high, and the company is seriously understaffed.
10. The software and hardware are extremely poor.
11. Salaries are extremely low; negotiating a raise basically gets you blacklisted.
12. The company is extremely stingy. A salesperson asked for an eraser and finally got one after waiting a year @@
13. Salaries are occasionally paid late.
14. The company has no planning or SOPs; the boss only knows how to criticize, not how to do things.
15. There is no year-end bonus, only a red envelope before the Lunar New Year, and it is extremely unstable (basically, employees with less than one year of service get no more than 10,000).
16. The boss keeps creating the illusion that the company is losing money, simply to avoid giving out larger red envelopes before the Lunar New Year.
17. There is no overtime pay, and salespeople who travel for work on holidays receive no compensatory leave.
18. The accountant’s personality is very strange and selfish.
19. When the boss’s romantic partner is in a bad mood, they refuse to turn on the air conditioning, making the office very stuffy.
20. New employees have to provide support in multiple areas (the IT administrator has to support administration, sales assistants, and accounting; the graphic designer has to support sales assistants, accounting, and so on).
21. Computers are restarted after working hours so that people can secretly look through them.
22. Information is incomplete, and the manager knows nothing whenever asked a question, so you can only figure things out yourself.
The colleagues are very easy to get along with.
The salary is extremely low. Everyone except sales earns only NT$22,000–24,000 (including managers).
Moreover, there are no opportunities for raises. If you ask for a raise, the boss and the boss’s romantic partner will pressure you until you leave.
Consultants and managers are lured in under false pretenses.
The boss will paint an overly rosy picture, telling you that the benefits and salary are good and that the year-end bonus is substantial.
In reality, the year-end bonus is only a red envelope and is absolutely never equivalent to one month’s salary.
Your salary may even be only half of what was originally agreed upon.
The boss spends around 2–5 hours in meetings every day,
but they all cover the same things.
It is completely impossible to work properly,
yet the boss will blame you for being slow.
The company completely disregards the Labor Standards Act.
There is no compensatory leave, annual leave is not allowed, and there is no overtime pay.

The company has a coffee machine, and the beans are OK
They start urging everyone to leave work shortly after six
In accordance with the Labor Standards Act
The boss is impatient and will chase everyone for information. Those with poor memory should make good use of notes, otherwise it can be exhausting
The boss is very articulate but lectures people a lot. He focuses on the matter, not the person. If you want to work here, you need to have sufficient stress tolerance
Easy to get along with colleagues
1. Simply put, this is an evil company that should not exist.
2. The boss only knows how to make empty promises, deceive employees, and pretend that bonuses exist.
3. The boss has no sense of decency and maliciously smears employees as incompetent, unprofessional, and as having stolen things from vendors, whether they have resigned or are still employed.
4. The boss is delusional and thinks he is the most capable person in the world. The purpose of his posts is to praise his own accomplishments, while disguising them as services for vendors.
5. The company's accounting is unclear and questionable; everyone suspects that the accountant is falsifying the books and could be arrested at any time.
6. As mentioned above, the company's accounts are not clean. Money will always mysteriously disappear from the company and end up in the private pockets of the supervisor who is the boss's mistress.
7. The supervisor is the boss's mistress. She cannot do anything and only fake-laughs—"hehehehe" and "hihihihi"—or deducts employees' wages.
8. The company probably receives more official notices regarding employees filing complaints with the labor bureau than the entire company receives in official notices throughout the year.
9. The association is also a complete mess: it secretly manipulates things and operates under the association's name to help the company generate business.
10. They even think it is normal for the association not to file taxes. If this is investigated retroactively, it should be quite spectacular.
11. I urge everyone and all my friends: please do not join this company. Joining it is equivalent to ruining your life. If the boss is dissatisfied with you, he truly has no sense of decency and will smear you everywhere.
Employees are easy to get along with
1. The boss only launches unlimited personal attacks against employees and constantly claims that all of the company’s achievements are his credit.
2. The boss is an elderly person in the late stage of bipolar disorder, constantly imposing his negative emotions on employees.
3. As long as an employee is capable, working them to death is considered only right. The boss also uses bonuses to pressure employees, but ultimately never gives them.
4. Whenever the company makes a mistake, it always pushes one employee forward to take responsibility, allowing the boss to endlessly blame and insult them.
5. The boss also goes around telling outsiders that the employees are terrible, incompetent, and lacking in ability.
6. The company is extremely stingy; it does not even provide normal stationery. Everything is sponsored by vendors.
7. The moment you bring up a raise, it is treated as a capital offense. After that, the issue will be used against you endlessly, with comments such as, “You’re incompetent and you still dare ask for a raise?”
8. No matter how well you perform, it is always the boss’s credit. Any results employees achieve are merely seen as harvesting the fruits of the boss’s past efforts.
9. The turnover rate is unbelievably high. Within three months, more than six part-time workers and sales employees had left.
10. The pay is extremely low. They basically always say there will be bonuses, and even think a monthly base salary of 25,000 is high. The key point is: there are absolutely no bonuses!
11. Whenever the boss is there, a meeting has to be held. The meetings consist entirely of endless venting and complaints, and there are never any solutions.
12. The company has no system. Salary calculations basically depend on your relationship with the boss’s mistress-manager. If you have a good relationship, even taking leave will not result in a deduction. If you offend her, she can deduct all the money that was not deducted from the day you joined the company onward.
13. On business trips, employees are required to carry extremely heavy exhibition items—basically the kind that are certain to exceed the weight limit. The business-trip allowances are also unclear.
14. Leave cannot be taken consecutively. Basically, taking leave is considered wrong; the boss will jump to conclusions and criticize you harshly.
15. The boss only talks constantly about SOPs, checklists, and daily reports, but basically does not read them when they are provided. Even when you send him information, he may claim that the employee did nothing simply because he did not see it himself.
16. The company has an excessive number of surveillance cameras, and the mistress-manager watches what employees are doing at all times.
17. The company does not even allow afternoon snacks, and the key point is that employees have to pay for them themselves.
18. Basically, the association and the company are the same—both are terrible!
19. The mistress-manager and the boss are less capable than the employees. When problems arise, employees basically have to find the answers themselves, but once the task is completed, all the credit goes to the boss and the mistress-manager.
20. The company is absurd. Despite lacking communication skills, it requires prospective employees to consult deities by throwing divination blocks before hiring them.
21. The hardware and software are extremely poor. The most high-tech equipment is probably the surveillance cameras.
