Pros

30 days of paid sick leave, but it depends on whether your supervisor approves the request

Cons

1) Severely understaffed. There are very few R&D staff, and everyone has far too many projects on their hands—the ultimate in cost-cutting?! After the PM finalizes the specifications and the circuits have already been laid out, they say they want major changes. Is the R&D team's time worth nothing?

2) There are tons of senior employees who do no work. Quite a few middle managers spend all day slacking off—watching dramas, playing games, and sleeping. They take full advantage of the benefits yet produce nothing. The turnover among their subordinates is high, but upper management does not care at all.

3) The travel subsidies that used to be available are gone. For a three-day, two-night employee trip, employees even have to pay for the third day themselves. Aren't they always saying that performance keeps reaching new highs?

4) It's a mid-sized company that operates like a small one, with absolutely no systems or processes. Everything is decided by upper management, and many unreasonable things have become completely normal. I've heard that some people don't need to come to the office or take leave, yet still receive their salaries without working. Do they think everyone who comes to the office and works normally is a fool?

5) Upper management only wants to maintain the status quo instead of growing the company. No wonder no one recognizes the name ASROCK.

6) Many people leave because they cannot get along with their supervisors. The company has no KPI metrics, performance evaluations are not transparent, and everything depends entirely on the supervisor's mood: follow the supervisor and you prosper; go against them and you perish.

7) There are far too many people putting on an act. A bunch of employees continue sitting at their desks after work, watching videos and scrolling on their phones, pretending to work hard so they can clock out later.

8) The company has little future and seems to only know how to speculate in stocks. However, new hires no longer receive stock allocations.

9) The base salary is very low; they only know how to dangle bonuses as a carrot.

I interviewed for a position in the marketing department.

As soon as I arrived, the receptionist handed me four double-sided pages of questions and said it was a test that would be collected after 30 minutes. The questions were generally about marketing theory, but they were very unlike questions that someone who understood marketing would write. Toward the end, there was an open-ended question:

Please plan an online and offline marketing campaign and demonstrate how online data can be converted into offline results.

⋯⋯⋯There was no context at all, yet they expected the applicant to write an answer. How was I supposed to write it?

As soon as the 30 minutes were up, the receptionist came in, collected the test papers, and left without saying anything.

After a while, Mr. Liao came in. I stood up to greet him, but he barely acknowledged me. As soon as he sat down, he said, “So you’re unemployed now?”

I replied, “Yes, that’s why I’m here for an interview. Should I introduce myself first?”

He looked down at my résumé and did not answer immediately.

When I began introducing myself, he told me to do it in English.

I said I wanted to use Chinese, and he said, “So you don’t know English?” The way he spoke made me completely unwilling to continue the interview.

If someone does not even show respect during an interview, what reason is there to continue? So I said, “That’s right, I don’t know English.”

He then stood up and said, “Then you’re not suitable,” and left immediately. After gathering my things, I went to the front desk to retrieve my résumé. The receptionist called him and said he refused to return it. Then the receptionist said, “Otherwise, you can talk to him yourself,” and handed me the phone⋯

I told the man that my personal information was on it and that I wanted it back. He raised his voice increasingly, saying, “It’s the company’s property. We can’t give it to you,” and then hung up on me⋯⋯

He immediately stormed out and loudly confronted me, asking, “So what exactly is your problem?” He said that if I was afraid he would leak it, I could sue him, and otherwise I should come back and see him—while insisting on not returning my résumé⋯

His wording was extremely harsh, and his attitude was terrible. At one point, I even wondered whether he was drunk. During the conversation, I asked him to speak more quietly, but he completely lost his temper. He still insisted on not returning my résumé and then simply walked away.

I was left standing at the front desk, completely dumbfounded⋯

I later asked Human Resources to handle it and was finally able to retrieve my résumé. The HR manager said that he was from Hong Kong, so he was more direct when speaking, but this should not be the reaction of a marketing director at a publicly listed company, regardless of which country he is from.

This interview experience was absolutely unbelievable.

However, the HR staff were very friendly; it was just Mr. Liao’s attitude that I found impossible to commend.

There are company trips now, which is pretty good. Both while I was working there and after I left, people told me that ASRock wasn’t a very good company, but why do I feel that many companies can’t accomplish what ASRock has? Haha. In any case, I personally feel that ASRock is at least an upright company.

Cons

There may be many negative aspects, but since departments differ, I didn’t notice them.

Pros

Builds patience and helps you see people and things clearly

Cons

1. The manager is extremely spineless and randomly opens up a bunch of PM projects.

2. Whether in terms of money or technical growth potential, it is extremely low-level—basically manual labor.

3. The workload is heavily packed; it mainly consists of simple debugging and miscellaneous tasks. After working for three or four years, you have no idea how to transition to another job.

4. Putting on an act is very important, although with this kind of non-technical work, that may be the only thing you can compete on.

5. A sunset industry.

Last year, I made some money from a brief opportunity. I’ve already told some people that I plan to collect one or two more paychecks this year and then change jobs. I hope those old-timers have a little conscience and give me a bit more.

Taking leave is extremely difficult. If you take consecutive days off, such as Friday and Monday, even if you use annual leave, you still get hassled about why you're taking time off.

Every time, I really want to reply: "Because I can. I'm taking leave according to the rules. What business is it of yours?"

Someone mentioned earlier that unequal pay for different work is a serious problem. Unequal pay for the same work is also a serious problem, but it depends on what everyone calls "acting skills."

Don't assume that the more expensive products in the vending machines on the 4th floor mean it's a great place to work. In fact, most people on the 4th floor—and a few on the 2nd floor—who are under Bond get paid even less, and the turnover rate is even higher.

The boss's usual trick is to make all kinds of extravagant promises: "We'll take off next year," "Things will be stable from now on," and other such nonsense.

Being fooled by the "let's weather the hard times together" line once or twice is one thing, but young people should look at the bigger picture—or at least check the reviews on Tianyancha for each of the various panel manufacturers.

This place is definitely the most spectacular in the industry.

Pros

1. Heaven is about to bestow a great responsibility upon this person, so it must first disrupt their projects, injure their liver, reduce their salary, delete their benefits, and make their overtime pay disappear. Therefore, let us weather these difficult times together and increase the boss’s wallet.

2. You can learn how to do miscellaneous errands. Whether your title is engineer, administrator, or grand sorcerer of the underworld, you have to handle all kinds of random chores—even tasks that clearly belong to other companies, such as ASRock Industrial.

3. You get to meet some new friends. Turnover is high: our team is staffed for eight people, yet about twelve people have left within five years. Some other teams are made up of new faces all the time.

Cons

1. There’s too much money. You start at 32,000 and leave five years later at 36,000. Fortunately, the boss hears my cries every year and sends emails saying things like “let’s weather these difficult times together,” after which the year-end bonus and profit sharing get smaller and smaller. Otherwise, with so much money being handed out, I really wouldn’t know what to do. If the boss were to starve to death, I would be so heartbroken, miserable, and guilt-ridden.

2. Excellent prospects for development and growth. The commanders are incompetent, allowing the entire army to cultivate its poise and self-discipline here, hone its acting skills, and realize the Taoist philosophy of striving with the world. Every day, you get to rediscover yourself somewhere between barely surviving and quitting to seek your fortune elsewhere.

3. The employee welfare committee is far too good at saving money. There used to be afternoon tea once a month—they cut it. Employee trips used to allow family members to come for free—they cut it. There used to be a hiking activity once every quarter—they cut it. There used to be travel subsidies—they cut them. Gifts for the three major festivals and birthday gifts have also been reduced.

Pros

1. It’s not easy to take leave, so you should be able to save quite a bit of money: It’s difficult to take extended leave at this company, and since its establishment, there have been quite a few cases of employees being called back.

Case one: An employee took honeymoon leave and was called back by General Manager Wu, who angrily berated him over the phone.

Case two: An employee’s wife gave birth. Under the Labor Standards Act, he was entitled to leave, but a senior executive angrily shouted in the work area, “Who approved this leave?” The employee was then called back the next day.

Case three: An employee took honeymoon leave and was berated by a senior executive for nearly an hour. The employee was also told to look up the Labor Standards Act—but the leave was still not approved.

Case four: At this company, leave on a Monday or Friday must be approved by a senior executive because it would result in a three-day weekend…

2. You can often see the moon when leaving work, and sometimes you can even see the sunrise~ Super awesome: The company often expects everyone to weather hard times together, so employees have to work long hours and put in overtime (without overtime pay). If you happen to be working on drawings, you can sometimes see the sunrise!

3. You can even go to the emergency room during work hours~ Pretty awesome, right?: An employee from “My Love from the Star” worked until he had to be rushed to the emergency room…

Cons

1. Professional skills are very important, and you have to perform for long hours, requiring superb acting skills; it’s a decent training center for actors.

2. Those who wear skirts are better off than those who wear pants, because at this company, leave requests from people wearing skirts are very easy to get approved, and they can even take unpaid leave while retaining their positions.

3. If you think engineers are more important than managers and earn more money, you absolutely need to change that mindset, because engineers are merely errand boys who do odd jobs and take the blame.

4. If your pedigree isn’t pure, accept your fate. If you didn’t graduate from National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, National Chiao Tung University, or National Cheng Kung University, and didn’t return from studying abroad, know your place—just focus on working overtime and selling your health! But there are exceptions~ unless you’re an award-winning actor or actress.

The previous two posts are the most accurate.

I suggest that young people think further ahead.

Also,

starting around this week, I’ve heard supervisors discussing the clairvoyance system.

There should be a large amount of information from another spacetime flooding in.

The first two posts are the most accurate.

Then I don’t understand why the first post says “普”...

There are currently none at all

Cons

Among the engineers, apart from the IPC hardware R&D team, I don't recommend any of the others.

Don't assume there's any room for growth. They're also first-rate at dodging technical issues.

At present, quite a few people whose alternative service has ended within the past few years, as well as experienced employees, have left or are considering leaving.

Besides the post above, there have also been several cases this week.

The unequal pay for equal work is extremely serious here.

I'm guessing that interviews are currently very easy to pass, but I advise idealistic young people to listen more, observe, and think carefully before stopping to make a decision.

However, if you want to become an actor capable of putting on a performance, you can come and give it a try.

I sincerely advise against it—don't say you weren't warned.

HR will tell you that the turnover rate is low.

Sure, none of the old-timers have left. Once you join, you'll know why.

Unless you've also practiced tai chi, you'll probably come here to write a negative review after about six months.

Bonuses are much worse than before, and many benefits have been cut. Old posts on PTT are no longer reliable references.

HW bonuses are higher than those in BIOS software; the difference is calculated by month, so it is no longer just a difference of tens of thousands.

In terms of cost performance, industrial computers in HW are "far better" than home computers. In industrial computers, most people are probably gone by around seven; in home computers, it may be around eleven.

In HW, you can leave once you finish your work. In BIOS software, it feels like personal relationships are very important. If your supervisor does not like you, do not expect much.

There is currently a wave of departures. Many people in BIOS software have left; one person left this week, and another left two weeks ago.

How much you learn depends on the individual, but learning how to change jobs is more practical. Solving a bunch of problems will not mean you get paid more.
