Pros

No advantages

Cons

The resignation form must state the last day of the month; otherwise, you will also have to pay that month’s National Health Insurance premium. The manager at this unscrupulous company will subtly lead you to submit it early! If the month has 31 days and you write the 30th, you will have to pay the final day’s health insurance premium yourself.

The company does everything it can to save money, including cutting labor and health insurance costs. It even sends its own people to post positive reviews for the company on Google.

A bunch of people comment that salaries are paid on time, but that is simply the most basic standard. I don’t know why it is considered worthy of praise.

Pros

So terrible it’s dripping

Cons

They deduct NT$3,000 for the uniform if you haven’t worked there for six months

Never got off work on time

12-hour workdays with a one-hour meal break

Overall, it’s just awful. No wonder the turnover rate is so high.

Seriously, don’t apply to this company if you can avoid it.

Heartless

Pros

Just one word: terrible.

Cons

Not carried out according to the agreement.

May violate labor laws.

The company is severely understaffed (lacking flexible personnel).

Annual leave is visible but unavailable (because there is no one to cover).

The contract was not provided to Party B according to the written documents.

In another 10 years, your company will have more and more elderly employees and fewer and fewer people who have passed away.

There will only be more and more people who understand the law.

Pros

After working at this company for over a year, the holiday gift allowance is only NT$600 for each of the three major holidays. We work 12 hours a day, with an average hourly wage of NT$116. Even when colleagues take sick leave, they are called back to work. If you’re unwilling to spend money, don’t run a company. This completely disregards security guards’ rights. Night-shift workers are not allowed to doze off; otherwise, video footage and screenshots will be used for a serious review. Upon resignation, they even deduct laundry fees. I don’t know whether they will also deduct the pay for seven days of annual leave. There is actually such a security company in Taiwan! Absolutely terrible.

Cons

Sweatshop work that will cost you your life; hourly wage of NT$116.

Pros

No advantages whatsoever.

Before joining the company, they tell you how great everything is.

After joining, you discover how awful it really is.

Cons

Bureaucratic system.

A supervisor surnamed Chiu is constantly telling security guards at the site to apply to become military police and work at the site. After driving away the original staff, they do not hire replacements, and spend all day telling the site's deputy team leader to figure out how to find people to come to work.

Why should we have to come in and fill shifts for you even when we are on leave?

You are the ones who insist on driving people away, yet you do not find anyone to provide support?

You approve security guards' sick leave, yet let the site be understaffed?

And your supervisors only know how to say that the managers failed to control the staffing properly?

Whose problem is it, exactly?

Pros

The total monthly amount is fairly decent (36k–39k / 276 hours).

There are fewer people on the night shift, so aside from not being able to sleep, you can relax and do your own thing.

Cons

1. This job is essentially trading time for money, with more than 276 hours every month. Taking leave results in a heavy deduction (-$2,100), and taking annual leave is treated the same as taking leave and will result in a pay cut! For a while, annual leave was even prohibited.

2. The turnover rate is high, and the company recruits indiscriminately to fill vacancies. A company executive once revealed that anyone with functioning hands and feet could get in. The sheer number of oddballs causes divisions and ostracism; after joining, there are endless oddballs to deal with!

3. The night-shift allowance is $5 per hour.

4. All company supervisor positions are filled by parachuted-in personnel, so it is normal for them to know nothing. Meanwhile, lower-level managers can never be promoted to supervisor, no matter how long they have worked there.

5. They do not tell you how the bonus is calculated until the bonus is issued. You may even find out only after receiving the year-end bonus that the New Year bonus was deducted from the year-end bonus to pay you. This does not match the announcement, and appeals are useless.

Pros

12 hours a month, working the graveyard shift, with a salary of 36K—it seems like I’ve escaped the dreaded 22K.

Cons

(1) You work 12 hours a day and have to rotate onto the graveyard shift. During the interview, they verbally tell you that you’ll be given two months to adjust when switching from day to night shifts, but that’s a complete lie—they’ll only give you one day! Then they brush you off by blaming a staff shortage!

(2) Most importantly, your monthly salary will always be short, without exception. I was short by around 2,000 each month, though the exact amount varied. If you don’t fight for it and report it, they won’t make up the difference. Even after reporting the shortfall, they drag their feet for ages before paying the missing wages!

(3) Your monthly salary is transferred in two installments. I dreamed that someone told me it was to evade taxes; in the dream, someone told me that the senior management were very powerful and that no one could ever catch them out.

(4) During the interview, they make this position sound like it offers a dream salary of over 36K. In reality, if you don’t pass the test, you don’t even get 36K.

(5) This company completely ignores the Labor Standards Act. Even the statutory annual leave is treated as unpaid leave. When you challenge your supervisor, they just treat you like an idiot and wave some “Security Industry Act” at you to intimidate employees who don’t know what that law is, as if they had enacted it themselves. They blame everything on the Security Industry Act, claiming the company is covered by it—it’s utterly ridiculous.

(6) You are never allowed to leave work on time. After your shift, they make you stay for about one or two hours for meetings, without paying overtime. Even if you’re off that day, you still have to return to the company for the meeting; missing any meeting means a deduction from your pay. You’ll even be fined for not returning to the company for a meeting on your day off!

(7) At the morning meeting, the supervisor fires rapid, aggressive questions at you. If you can’t answer within five seconds, they deduct money from your pay too~

Pros

Overall, it's good.

Cons

Why do people keep leaving? Management needs to think carefully about that.

It's not about constantly hiring replacements; otherwise, there will always be more people leaving than joining.
