Pros

Chatting with elderly people

Cons

After filling out the form before the interview, I waited for over an hour. It was summer and they still hadn’t turned on the air conditioning. I got so hot and dizzy that my carefully styled hair looked awful from all the sweat ==

When I went to the computer and turned on the video screen, I couldn’t see the interviewer, but the interviewer could see me. The profile picture also showed four other people besides the interviewer.

They asked how I spent my salary from my previous job and how much money I could save each month (Hello???)

The salary details were very vague. During the one-month probation period, after deducting labor and health insurance, the base salary is NT$29,500. When I asked under what circumstances it would be adjusted, they only said it would depend on the evaluation by the senior colleague training me. (I asked this at least four times, and they never gave any actual evaluation criteria.)

Also, this job requires accompanying doctors during consultations, but removing needles for doctors is considered a medical procedure. Yet this was something a clinic assistant with no medical license whatsoever was expected to do. (Huge red flag—run!)

Treat it as an experience, and tell yourself that at least you found out about the problem before joining the company.

Cons

At the beginning, HR asked me to fill out a form. After I finished, they turned on a computer and asked me to take a typing test (it had been raining heavily for several consecutive days, and they had not mentioned this beforehand). My hands were freezing, but I let that go. I applied for an administrative position, and the interview was conducted by Supervisor A. They first asked me to introduce myself, then briefly explained the job duties and working hours (8:30–18:00), with weekends off. They repeatedly emphasized that they were looking for someone detail-oriented and highly loyal, and that I would need to sign a contract. That was not a problem. They also required a confidentiality clause, which was not a problem for me either. To help me get up to speed more quickly and resolve issues when handling computer-related tasks for the position, they said I would first need to intern at a clinic for one week to become familiar with the registration system and procedures. I had no problem with that either. Throughout the 30–40-minute interview, they emphasized “attention to detail, loyalty, confidentiality, and signing a contract,” along with a general introduction to the job duties. Once they had said about all there was to say, they told me there would be a second interview. However, Supervisor B was not there, so after waiting 10 minutes, the second interview was conducted by video. I could only see myself and could not see the interviewer, which felt somewhat disrespectful to the applicant, but I let that go as well. They again asked me to introduce myself. After I finished, they said, “For this position, you would need to intern in an outpatient clinic for one year. Is that acceptable?” I thought I had misheard, but it really was one year. They then asked, “The outpatient clinic requires shift work. Can you do that?” I said I could not, and the interview was ended.

What I find puzzling is that what Supervisor A and Supervisor B said was completely different—the information was entirely inconsistent. So why waste 40 minutes at the beginning explaining something that was fundamentally different? Wouldn't it be better to state clearly from the outset what they were actually looking for? It made me wonder whether this was a case of presenting one position (Position A) but actually offering another (Position B and its duties). As a chain of traditional Chinese medicine clinics, the employees are the company's assets, but I truly did not feel that they showed applicants the attitude they should have. Job hunting is a two-way process: while a company is looking for talent, talent is also looking for a good company.

You can probably practice your EQ well.

Cons

I applied for the HR specialist position at Renxin Medical.

First, I filled out a form and then had an interview.

The interview ended in less than 10 minutes,

and it was a video interview!

It was a video interview where I couldn’t see the supervisor, but the supervisor could see me.

The HR representative called the next day and said I should report to work on xx/xx.

A few days later, I called to say that I wanted to withdraw.

The HR representative asked which position I had interviewed for.

They said their company didn’t have an HR specialist opening.

The HR representative even suspected that I had gotten it wrong…. (The email clearly said “HR specialist”—seriously?)

No wonder the supervisor who interviewed me that day told me to learn about the company’s products,

and mentioned things like receiving extra bonuses for selling products.

They were probably using the slogan of recruiting an HR specialist to recruit salespeople or for some other administrative position.

This was extremely disrespectful to job applicants.

You can rest when there are no customers.

Cons

Usually, outpatient clinics stop accepting registrations half an hour beforehand, but this one does not. Work often drags on until closing time; I once finished two hours late, with no overtime pay whatsoever. The security gate cannot be closed during the noon break.

The system is very poor. The boss has the final say, the pay is extremely low, and there is no room for discussion (when you report it to upper management, they say they will look into it, and then nothing ever comes of it). Every branch has surveillance cameras and audio recorders.

The leave policy is effectively year-round work: the only time off is from Lunar New Year's Day through the fourth day of the new year. There are no bonuses for the three major holidays, and national holidays require work without double pay. You work at least 12 hours every day.

In one sentence: “It’s not about healing people; it’s about making money.”

Some of the doctors are very dedicated, but I cannot agree with the company’s philosophy.

There are no advantages whatsoever.

Cons

Low salary, no systems or policies in place—only the manager’s word counts; low morale and high turnover. If you are considering working for this company, think carefully.
