The managers are all Ko Wen-je supporters, and their logic is complete bullshit.

Pros

You can bring pets to work.

Cons

The upper management are all family members, and you’re often blamed for strange things.

Theoretically, 11 days off per month is impossible.

One day of overtime gets you 1k.

If you ask, the answer is: run while you can—don’t come here to suffer.

Friendly colleagues

Cons

Leaving a comment to build good karma

Don't believe the benefits listed on job banks! Don't believe them! Don't trust them! If you're still interested, press for details during the interview. I'm sure you'll be able to tell whether they're just talking in circles or actually complying with the Labor Standards Act.

If you're applying for a marketing, procurement, design, or any position that appears to be an internal or administrative role, I can tell you with certainty that it will absolutely be different from what you expect. Supporting retail stores is the norm, so both store staff and nominal in-house employees have very high turnover rates. Treat claims of 8 or 10 days off per month as something to simply look at and move on. There are no days off on national holidays, and you can't exchange them for money or compensatory leave. If you take too much leave, you'll even have to make up the workdays. The average working day is 10–11 hours, and of course there is no overtime pay (although the company will tell you that it's all averaged into your monthly salary).

The above only covers the most basic points. If you're still interested after reading this, I wish you good health.

The staff are generally easy to get along with, but the system and benefits are really poor, so overall, I have to give it a low rating.

Pros

There are many fake positives.

Cons

Completely different from what was said during the application.

Newcomers should be nurtured through encouragement,

not brought in through pressure and verbal abuse.

Pros

It sounds like the base salary is quite high, there are lots of days off, and the work environment is friendly.

Cons

It is completely unfriendly to newcomers. Most of the supervisors are also impatient and cold, there is often too much work to finish, and there is no time to rest. Many things are frequently contradictory, and the boss was frighteningly polite at first—but you’ll find out later what that means. The pressure is extremely intense, problems arise at the slightest provocation, and you often get blamed even when you had nothing to do with it. New employees simply cannot stay. Perhaps consider this job only if you can initially earn NT$25,000, endure the pressure for the first six months, advance to a monthly salary in the low NT$30,000s, and have two scheduled days off per week. This is the worst job I have ever had.

Pros

The interview experience was okay.

Cons

The job postings keep changing.

At first, they hired a whole bunch of people for marketing and graphic design positions,

but anyone with work experience knows that a company simply does not need that many graphic designers,

especially since this company would already have more than enough work for even one full-time graphic designer.

Basically, regardless of the position, everyone ends up doing things like working in the store and packing and shipping orders.

The boss makes all sorts of grand promises.

Most of the employees there are young people.

The work is very painful, but you still hold on to the belief that: after learning the store operations well, as the boss said, you will be assigned to the position you originally applied for.

Moreover, you can hardly take any breaks in this job. The supervisors watch you very closely, basically forcing you to keep working nonstop, with no freedom at all.

It is like managing elementary school students: one command, one action.

It is a company with a very high turnover rate. You can tell that they are recruiting all the time just by checking the job sites once in a while.

There are too many drawbacks to list, and I’m too lazy to keep typing.

Also, some of the supervisors here are extremely unfriendly toward new employees, have no manners, and snap at people at the slightest provocation. It’s ridiculous.

Anyway, there are so many jobs in the service industry—why come and jump into this pit? The hours are long, the pay is low, and it’s a dead-end job.
