Pros

There was a dog.

Cons

It’s been almost half a year since I left, and I still wake up from dreams about my supervisor inexplicably yelling at me.

Pros

The office atmosphere is extremely tense; no one dares to make a sound. The supervisors communicate instructions via LINE. I can’t think of anything enjoyable about it.

Cons

The supervisors handle things without logic and often suddenly call a halt halfway through a case. Projects are frequently approached with a “let’s just give it a try” attitude, so several days of previous work often end up being wasted.

Office layout: approximately 8 ping, divided into six seats arranged in a 2-2-2 formation. There is an extremely tall partition between the desks next to each other, so people have to stand up to see one another. The two supervisors sit behind the four employees. There are also three extremely noisy Maltese dogs that bark constantly.

The atmosphere is truly extremely tense. The supervisors have a lot to deal with, so they often sigh, make a “tsk” sound—almost once every minute—or hit the keyboard and mouse forcefully. This often makes us employees afraid to make any noise, so we can only use LINE to discuss matters. Once, I asked the person at the next desk about a problem (speaking out loud), and the supervisor scolded me for a very long time—even continuing to lecture me via LINE after I got home.

Overall, the supervisors keep saying they want to bring in new blood and incorporate young people’s creativity, but deep down they are still old-fashioned. Many things are only announced at the last minute, and even after being announced, they may still be changed at the last minute.

The supervisors do not have time to wait for newcomers to improve gradually, and no one can teach new employees anything. The supervisors themselves do not know how to use many software programs, yet they keep expecting employees to know how to use them to help save the company money. But if an employee is already a professional user of a particular software program, why would they apply for a job unrelated to that software?

(The employees there are all newcomers as well. Those who are not new are busy with other things and have no time to help new employees.)

If you consider yourself highly capable—having a good academic background would preferably make it easier to pass the interview—or if you think things through carefully, are not careless (because the supervisors are impatient and fussy), have extremely strong stress tolerance, and can endure three dogs barking wildly, then consider applying to this company. But if you like chatting in the office or prefer a pleasant working environment, think it over carefully—or perhaps don’t consider it at all. Look elsewhere.

Pros

When there are new employees, the manager treats everyone to a meal.

Cons

There is no system for getting things done.

The manager randomly dumps work on you and tells you to complete tasks without explaining anything from beginning to end.

If you ask questions, you will be mocked.

When the manager is in a bad mood, they will send you an email to berate you.

If you want to stay, you either need to have very high EQ or be able to read the manager’s mind.

Otherwise, you have to be more aggressive than the manager. When they scold you, don’t back down; believe in yourself—you haven’t done anything deserving of that kind of abuse—and ask them why they are speaking to you that way.

But don’t believe that you can change them.

In short, this is a company with no future.

Cons

There is no system for getting things done.

The manager randomly dumps work on you and tells you to complete tasks without giving you any context or direction.

If you ask questions, you will be mocked.

When the manager is in a bad mood, they will send you an email berating you.

If you want to stay, you either need to have very high emotional intelligence or be able to read the manager's mind.

Otherwise, you have to be more intimidating than the manager. When they criticize you, don't cower. Believe in yourself—you are not as bad as they say—and ask them why they are speaking to you that way.

But don't believe that you can change them.

In short, this is a company with no future.

Pros

They’ll treat you to a meal on your first day.

Cons

1. Starting from the second day, they won’t let you leave on time for meals or after work.

2. The supervisor has emotional issues.

3. There’s no advance planning; everything is done in a rush.

4. The two supervisors don’t communicate with each other beforehand. If an employee does something assigned by supervisor A, supervisor B will scold them. It’s really frustrating, and then supervisor A will pretend it has nothing to do with them.

5. Overtime is limitless.

The manager was amiable during the interview.

Cons

If the company’s actual headcount isn’t large, don’t make it sound as though the company is huge.

Pros

All of my colleagues are recent graduates entering the workforce, so we work side by side with one another.

Cons

The boss has no logical order or established process for doing things.

Many times, we have to guess what the boss means because asking often does not result in any answers.

They recruit recent graduates, claiming they want to bring fresh talent and enthusiasm into the company.

However, they believe that newcomers’ ideas are wrong and keep saying: “You’re no longer in school; you’re working out in the real world and taking the company’s money. We have no obligation to teach you. If you think this place is so bad, go back to school.”

The boss and the boss’s wife communicate poorly with each other. After the boss’s wife has approved something and it has been implemented for a while, the boss will ask, “What is this?”

Or the boss will say to go in direction A three days earlier, then question the problems with direction A a few days later and ask the person who carried it out, “Don’t you think direction A is strange?”

When assigning tasks, the boss and the boss’s wife strongly dislike communicating face to face. They often use LINE instead. Even though they sit in the same office and there are only four employees, they still do not use the most direct method.

They often announce things one hour before work starts on the same day. For example, one hour or 30 minutes before work, they suddenly send a LINE message to the company group telling a colleague to go conduct a site survey that day and not come to the office; or telling colleagues not to come to the office because they are going to present a proposal.

The company’s Adobe software is pirated!!!!! The company’s Adobe software is pirated!!!!!

This is really inappropriate for designers!!

Why doesn’t a company spend some money to buy legitimate software? Many students even pay for legitimate software!

Clearly, just any one of the company’s projects is worth several million dollars or more!

In short, this company has major internal management problems.

Employees do not stay for even a year before leaving, so be sure to choose carefully.
