Pros

The only advantage, I suppose, is that it got someone like me, who doesn't usually like writing reviews, to come here and share my work experience with everyone.

Cons

The disadvantages are pretty much the same as what everyone else has shared! What I want to share is ─

1. The company's starting salary is low. It sounds good during the interview: it is adjusted once after the three-month probation period based on work performance, and then raises are given after an annual evaluation. In reality, there are no performance evaluation standards at all. To get a raise, you have to communicate with the boss, and it depends on whether the boss likes you. Even after getting a raise, you'll still be criticized privately for this and that.

2. The administrative manager doesn't act like a manager and likes to shift responsibility when problems arise. Anything they don't want to deal with is pushed onto team members. Even more absurdly, when the administrative team is asked to handle the small tasks that the engineering team should complete each day... the manager won't stand up for team members at all and will simply make you do it! (((If you still communicate with the manager and say you don't want to do it, the manager will report it to the boss privately. The boss will call an impromptu meeting and tell you to do it during the meeting!)))

3. Speaking of reporting problems, the manager says that when you encounter a problem, you should report it privately (((whether to the boss or the manager))), because raising it in front of everyone will make them feel they are losing face.

4. The manager watches the surveillance cameras and listens in on employees' conversations at work.

5. The company has always assumed that more employees can easily be found, so it doesn't really regard employees as company assets. There are so many problems? If you want to do it, do it; if not, then don't!

6. There is no basic trust in new employees. Some engineers join without relevant experience, and the company provides no training, so engineers have no choice but to teach themselves using records left by previous senior colleagues. When the company discovers that you are looking at company records, it starts treating you with suspicion.

7. Apart from the manager, administrative staff have to do everything → in-store customer service, telephone customer service, receiving/scheduling jobs, administrative paperwork (((if the position also requires graphic design, it's truly cheap and useful))), tasks assigned by the administrative manager, cleaning the entire company (((don't expect the manager/engineers to help; if you haven't finished cleaning your assigned area that day, you have to finish it before leaving work))), and, when there aren't enough engineers, assisting with on-site property inspections, preparing inspection reports, and helping the engineers.

※ The boss and manager like to put on a show. For anyone who wants to experience palace-intrigue drama firsthand, the company is currently hiring!

Pros

At first, I thought it was a great company to work for.

Cons

The job posting initially made the benefits sound good, saying that in addition to the statutory annual leave required by the Labor Standards Act, there would be an extra 10 days of annual leave. Now they are telling you that those 10 days of annual leave will be replaced with a bonus. Taking the leave is still possible, but then don't ask the boss why there is no salary adjustment and why the year-end bonus hasn't increased.

In short, they make it look available but not actually attainable—they lure you in first and deal with the rest later.

The boss changes the company's benefits without holding a meeting or making any announcement, and privately pressures employees to choose between the options. If you choose something other than what the boss wants to offer, they then tell you that their rules are the rules.

Engineers are told that if they take leave on a weekday, they must work overtime on a holiday to make up for it; yet even when they work normal hours on weekdays, they are still required to be on standby and report to work on holidays???

The company has no clear promotion system. As long as older employees don't leave, younger employees shouldn't expect to advance. Performance evaluations are based entirely on the boss's subjective preferences, with no standards at all.

Pros

1. Most of my colleagues are pretty good.

2. Most of the office staff care about their colleagues’ physical well-being.

3. The company regularly provides snacks and dry goods for employees.

4. NT$2,000 per day is provided for fuel and meals.

5. Sorry, I can’t think of anything else to write.

Cons

1. Field staff frequently leave early and return late. After finishing work, they sometimes still have to drive from southern Taiwan to the company in northern Taiwan. After working a full day, they are already physically exhausted, and working 14 hours a day, including overtime, is not uncommon.

2. No matter how well office staff perform, the boss never notices. The boss only says it is that way because the supervisor is present.

3. Overtime pay is not calculated according to the Labor Standards Act. For example, with a monthly salary of NT$23,100, overtime pay is calculated as 23,100/30 days/8 hours.

In addition, overtime pay is not received together with the salary. The boss transfers it only when they are in a good mood.

4. The boss does not calculate the employee-paid portion of labor and health insurance contributions with you; a lump sum is deducted only before you leave the company.

5. Holiday overtime is announced one day in advance. If you cannot cooperate, the boss will privately say that the employee is lazy.

6. A team usually consists of two people: one lead inspector and one assistant. If there is a problem with the work that day, the company will hold the lead inspector responsible. Do not think you are safe because you are the assistant—if the lead inspector makes a mistake, you will also be implicated. This is true even if you did not know what they were supposed to do. If you do know what they should do and try to help, the boss will scold you for overstepping your role.

7. The boss often goes back on their word and changes decisions from one moment to the next.

8. This is probably what everyone cares about: the company does not provide detailed pay statements.

9. The year-end bonus of 2.5 months’ salary mentioned on the recruitment website is actually the total of the bonuses for the three major holidays.

10. The two-day weekend should also be taken with a grain of salt, because the boss charges consumers extra for holidays and naturally schedules work whenever possible.

11. The boss favors their own friends. Once they join, they are always treated as the top priority. The easier assignments go to the boss’s friends, and they receive the credit as well.

12. To sum up, if you want to gain experience, this may be a good place for you. Those who are not short of money should consider coming here. It would be even better if you have connections. Otherwise, you start at the bottom, and to move up, you have to wait until someone above you resigns before you get a chance.

Pros

There are snacks available.

The colleagues are all nice.

Cons

The supervisor often assigns work only after employees’ working hours have ended. Although an announcement was issued stating that employees should clock out at 5:30 and clock in again at 6:00 to work overtime, the supervisor still waits until the end-of-day bell rings to ask employees to handle work, while saying that it will not take long.

Even during holidays or after work, employees may be required to contact customers or answer customer inquiries by phone, but this is not counted as overtime.

The salary payment date is inconsistent, and the labor and health insurance premiums are not directly deducted from the current month’s salary.

Pros

1. Colleagues are easy to get along with

2. The company has massage chairs

3. Snacks are provided

Cons

1. New hires are sent directly to conduct on-site home inspections as soon as they join the company. Regardless of whether your major is related to the field, there is no training.

2. The company does not provide salary statements. Overtime pay is not paid together with that month's salary because the company does not have an accountant; the owner calculates and transfers all salaries. Therefore, if the owner is not available, there is no way to know when you will receive your salary. In addition, once the daily transfer limit has been used up, you have to wait until the next day. Delayed overtime payments are routine (one employee had still not received them more than a year after leaving the company).

3. The company does not deduct employees' self-paid labor and health insurance contributions from their monthly salaries. Therefore, when resigning, you may still have to pay the company a sum covering your self-paid labor and health insurance contributions.

4. The engineers' office is in the basement. The environment is damp and poorly ventilated. There is a pond in the backyard, but because a pipe broke, wastewater flows directly throughout the yard. As a result, there are many mosquitoes and insects, and foul odors are frequently emitted without anyone addressing the problem (the pond has even been full of mosquito larvae, with maggots covering the ground).

5. When faced with matters the owner does not want to handle, they tend to make excuses or avoid them. Sometimes they oppose things simply for the sake of opposing them, making communication difficult.

6. The turnover rate among engineers is high.

7. The company provides services throughout Taiwan. Therefore, if a home inspection in New Taipei starts at 9 a.m., you have to arrive at the company after 6 a.m. to gather and set out. Even if you are scheduled for four inspections that day, if the last inspection is not conducted until 3 p.m., you may not return to Taichung until 8 or 9 p.m. Workdays can last more than 10 hours, and you may even be scheduled for this kind of assignment four days a week.

8. During the interview, the company mentioned a year-end bonus equivalent to 2.5 months' salary. In reality, it is never paid all at once: 1.5 months' salary is paid around Lunar New Year, followed by 0.5 months each at the Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. If you resign, you will not receive it. As mentioned above, if the owner says they are too busy to make the transfer, you can only wait.

9. If the owner held a gathering with friends at the company the previous evening, you often start work in the morning to find leftover hot pot from the night before or toys scattered all over the floor. Cleaning these up is also considered part of the office or administrative duties. The owner's personal belongings are also often piled up at the company, making the environment cluttered.

10. Overtime is calculated at the average daily wage regardless of whether it is performed on holidays or statutory holidays; there is no multiplier for overtime hours.

Pros

1. Not short on money

2. Not someone who likes to quibble

3. Likes driving

As long as you meet the above criteria, you’ll be the most suitable little helper for the company <3

Cons

Outstanding wages and overtime pay, among other things.

One coworker didn’t receive any pay for six months ((P.S. Although they were a part-time worker, don’t they need to eat??

They always say, “I’ll give it to you in the next day or two,” and then a month passes, yet they still tell you that they’ll pay you in the next day or two.

In short, the company’s managers are slow to get things done—but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be quick to spend money when it comes to paying you.

Pros

1. Colleagues are easy to get along with.

2. You can experience local customs throughout Taiwan.

3. Field staff can eat slightly better.

4. You can learn many things, such as regulations related to home inspections and office software.

5. Snacks and drinks are available for self-service (but be sure to check whether they have expired).

6. Not sure whether the year-end banquet and year-end bonus count as advantages?

Cons

1. The workload for both office and field staff is heavy. Those who work relatively slowly will have a harder time.

2. Because assignments are accepted throughout Taiwan, field staff have irregular working hours. You may have to arrive at the company as early as 6 a.m. and may not return until 8 or 9 p.m.

3. Field home inspectors receive no allowance or subsidy. Even if you work outside for all 30 days, you still receive the same salary (excluding overtime pay).

4. The starting salary is very low (it is set at the statutory minimum wage, possibly with an additional NT$1,000–2,000 at most).

5. Arriving early at the company counts as overtime and is paid, but no matter how late you return to the company, that overtime is not paid.

6. Overtime pay is not calculated according to the Labor Standards Act. It is simply monthly salary ÷ 30 days ÷ 8 (example: for a monthly salary of NT$24,000: 24,000 ÷ 30 ÷ 8 = 100).

The same calculation applies when working during consecutive holidays!

7. There is no fixed date each month for salary payments. It is considered normal for overtime pay to be delayed by two or three months; some colleagues still have not received theirs after more than a year.

8. The employee-paid portion of labor and health insurance premiums is not deducted. When you want to settle the amount, you have to pay the boss yourself.

9. The boss has an ancient mindset and treats the Labor Standards Act as irrelevant, yet is very proud of the company’s benefits and asks why it should comply with the law (WTF?!).

10. The boss is a big talker who loves making grand promises. He does not follow the SOPs he talks about in meetings and only criticizes employees without reflecting on himself.

11. There is no clocking in or out, so I personally feel there is no protection regarding this matter.

12. Take the benefits listed on the recruitment website with a grain of salt; they all have prerequisites (for example: after one year, “10 days of annual leave + 7 or more days of special leave”).

The key point is that employee turnover is extremely high. There are hardly any employees who make it to one year, okay? Also, the five-day workweek with Saturdays and Sundays off is a lie; it is basically impossible to schedule.

Summary: I only recommend coming to take on this challenge if you are not short of money and have good physical stamina. Those who want to report an exploitative employer are also welcome.
