Pros

None

Cons

About two months ago, I interviewed for an administrative position. The employment terms did not comply with labor laws: there was no sick leave or maternity leave, employees were required to work on typhoon days without transportation subsidies, and the seven days of marriage leave included weekends (which effectively meant only five days). After hearing this, I simply could not accept it and did not continue the discussion. The interviewer actually tore up my résumé on the spot, which made me feel disrespected. I later looked up the company and found that its reviews were extremely poor!! Luckily, I didn’t get carried away at the time; otherwise, who knows how badly I might have been mistreated.

Pros

Let me talk about what I’ve learned over the past three-plus years: this company is just too excellent.

1. I learned that when I see a company supervisor, I have to greet them loudly; speaking too softly won’t do.

2. I learned to observe the weather: whether it’s cloudy or rainy, I have to report it to my supervisor.

3. Every month and every day, all arrivals must be counted immediately and reported to the senior supervisor immediately.

4. Every day, I have to learn to listen to or observe my supervisor’s tone and facial expressions and know how to respond.

5. I learned how to clean the supervisor’s car: the underside of the hood (there must be no water marks), the engine compartment (there must be no dust), the rims (there must be no water marks), and the wheel wells (there must be no dirt).

6. I learned that everything, big or small, must be reported; otherwise, it’s zero points.

7. I learned how to be scolded, lectured, and have money deducted from my pay.

8. I learned to choose the right side to stand on and to keep my eyes open.

9. I learned that when another department asks for help, I must not agree immediately; we have to discuss it in a meeting first.

10. I learned the SOP for driving a car carrying an oil drum to a gas station to refuel.

11. I learned how to clean the supervisor’s home: quickly, ruthlessly, and accurately—in other words, it has to be cleaned thoroughly.

12. I learned how to drive the supervisor anywhere, such as a hospital, convenience store, gas station, or home. I must shift gears smoothly, not drive too fast, and not change lanes arbitrarily. I suddenly realized that I am a safe driver.

13. I learned not to get angry when submitted materials are torn up because of errors; I have to develop patience.

14. I learned to compare ranks: the higher-ranking official has the final say.

15. I learned to search diligently online for the items the supervisor wants and complete the task.

16. I learned that bird droppings on the ground must be scrubbed away, and bird droppings on the car must be wiped off.

17. I have to learn to call myself an idiot, stupid, and utterly incompetent, because I need to have an attitude of self-reflection.

18. I learned that my hair must be properly cut, my clothes must not be faded, and my buttons must be fastened, because a person’s appearance represents the public image of a company.

19. I learned that being capable is not what matters; knowing how to obey is the key—in other words, I have to submit.

20. I learned that once you know how to put your dignity aside, you have succeeded.

Cons

How could such a wonderful company have any shortcomings?

Pros

1. Company motorcycles may be used when traveling outside the office for work.

2. Lunch expenses are provided, but you must eat at the company for this to apply; there is no allowance if you go out at lunchtime.

Cons

1. You have to arrive at the company half an hour earlier than the scheduled start time to prepare for work, making the actual working time 8.5 hours.

2. Taking sick leave results in a deduction from the perfect-attendance bonus. I heard that the deduction for sick leave is the same as that for personal leave.

3. If you are caught using your phone during work hours, your bonus will be deducted. Even if you are using your phone for work-related matters, they will check whether that is really the case.

4. Bonuses are also deducted for poor performance. It feels like they often use pay deductions to pressure employees.

5. Even when the government announces a typhoon day off, you still have to work half a day. One extra hour of pay is provided as compensation, but there is no further reimbursement for taxi fares or anything else.

6. Annual leave for the following year must be scheduled in advance during the previous year. They also specifically say that annual leave should preferably be scheduled and taken in one longer block rather than split into several periods. During annual leave, you still have to return to the company to provide support for half a day (apparently this is paid).

Pros

There are absolutely no advantages!

Cons

The general manager is extremely particular and has a very unpleasant tone when speaking to employees! A vain person who likes to hear flattering words, treats employees like dogs, and looks for ways to arbitrarily deduct money from employees! Otherwise, they find lawyers to figure out how to exploit legal loopholes to mess with employees, naively believing that as long as the salary is high, employees will stay. In conclusion: an extremely militarized company, even more extreme than the military—the only difference is that they do not lock people up in confinement.

Pros

The benefits are average.

Cons

I've never seen such a militarized and bizarre company. You have to chant slogans wherever you go and whatever you do, and use fixed scripts for every report. Not even a single hair is allowed to fall in the restroom; it's cleaner than a five-star hotel. What a crazy company—coming up with all sorts of strange commands and rules for employees. If you don't follow their steps, they start berating you. FQ
