Read the community guidelinesCompared with a typical cable TV station, the workload is relatively light. Fewer people are needed for holiday shifts, and there are no night-shift positions, so it is rare for a news job to allow you to have weekends off.
There are too many...
The work environment alone is dirty and disorganized, with unpleasant odors in the pantry and lots of cockroaches. The office space is small, and even employees within the same group are not allowed to use restrooms on other floors.
There are no holiday bonuses, and the year-end bonus is very stingy. The supervisor has turned the place into a one-person dictatorship; even if you raise an opinion, it is pointless. My advice to newcomers is to stay for a while and then move to another job.
At the time, there were gaps in the schedule between shifts.
My supervisor forced me to use annual leave according to the schedule, and refusing was ineffective. The reason was: “We don’t need that many people”—an absurd excuse.
After Taiwan Television was acquired by ETtoday in December 2022, the number of hourly news segments, which had originally been relatively few, gradually increased. The 12:00–13:00 and 18:00–19:00 segments were merged, and editing assistants were also required to learn the work of editorial assistants. By the end of February 2023, the hourly news segments ran from 07:00 to 22:00.
After that, newly hired editing assistants had to learn the work of editorial assistants. It was not until the end of August that editing assistants returned to editing-related duties. In March 2023, one editing assistant was hired and had to learn these additional duties, but left at the end of June.
In April, an editing assistant was hired with responsibilities limited to editing-related work. Not long after joining, however, they were required to learn the work of an editorial assistant. Feeling deceived, they adopted a very casual attitude toward the editorial assistant duties and left at the end of July.
An additional one-and-a-half-month performance evaluation was introduced, which affected year-end bonuses. Decisions were made without considering seniority, causing many people to leave.
Since the number of hourly news segments increased, there has been no break at all between shifts on weekdays.
The salary is in line with the market.
It is said that many people suddenly left a certain department.

It occurred to me in a dream that short selling means there are only three people left holding the fort, and that number is still decreasing. It’s so insane. The only thing increasing is the workload and its variability. Maybe I should dream a little more—perhaps one day there will be more people again.
Stationery can be replaced every month; as for the rest...
All I can say is that all the other comments are true.
All day long, they only want to ask who said it and never reflect on themselves. Don’t naively dream that doing your own work well can solve everything—on the 10th floor, they can always find something to make an issue out of.
They keep stuffing things in randomly; it’s full of pits and bumps and uneven. If it doesn’t work, then after a month...
Forget it—come if you want!
The front desk lady/gentleman is polite.
It’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole, it’s not a hellhole.
Before joining the company, they made it sound as though we wouldn’t have to do any work. But after joining the company, the 10th floor is a fierce battleground; every day is happy, exciting, and stimulating, and we stumble through each day.
Still thinking.
In name only; in reality, there are pitifully few people. I applied for an engineering position, but was constantly interrupted while speaking, and the thinking was also very rigid. Making grand promises costs nothing, yet it is impossible to see how they are supposed to be achieved.

Before considering jumping into a fire pit or a cesspit, please think it over first. Dragon X TV station will give you plenty of surprises. Bye-bye.

The interview location was in Taishan, for an e-commerce graphic designer position (Mai Cai Wang). The interviewer told me that I had not replied to his interview messages and said that he had called me but I did not answer. He claimed that I had not responded to the interview messages and had abruptly shown up for the interview. In fact, I had replied to his interview messages, and he had not called me either. This shows that the interviewer himself failed to see my reply to the interview messages and simply placed all the blame on the job applicant.
In addition, there was also a computer-based test. Taking the test required signing an agreement waiving ownership of the work produced during the test. By signing this agreement, the work produced in the test would belong to the company, which could use it however it wanted.
I previously applied for a position at this company, and it was a very unpleasant experience. At first, I saw an opening for a news translator/editor and went to apply, but was then told that they did not actually need many people for the position. After talking for a while, I was told that only miscellaneous tasks suitable for a part-time worker were available, and that even if I took the job, the pay would be very low. However, I was told that if I worked there longer and performed well, I could be promoted to a regular position. After I agreed, I was then told that because the supervisor was currently on vacation, they would get back to me in a few days. After a week passed without hearing anything, I called to ask about it, only to be told again that they could not give me an answer at that time and would reply in a few days. Several days later, I called again, and when I asked about it, they seemed not to know anything about the matter at all and told me that there was no such position. If you are thinking of applying, be forewarned.
Although it is considered a company with established systems, with punctual clocking in and out, the managers are very nagging. Those who cannot stand people who constantly nitpick should think twice. The company also has a very high turnover rate. When the 22K policy was introduced, it followed the trend and cut employees’ salaries. In addition, it uses certain “techniques” to save on certain “taxes.” Its business direction is extremely conservative and outdated: it would rather spend money buying low-cost foreign programs, and even expand into Southeast Asia, than invest in Taiwanese program production. Therefore, if you are interested in working in the media and hope to showcase your talents, you may want to consider another company...
