Pros

I applied for a senior assistant position. The HR representative was very friendly and responsible. There was no English exam or IQ test. Overall, the company felt clean and comfortable, without being flashy. (The HR representative said that I was a little too formally dressed in a suit.)

I had entered my information online before the interview, so the interview was very relaxed and I didn’t need to bring anything. The salary was also listed.

Cons

So far, I don’t feel there are any. The salary has not yet been discussed in detail.

Pros

The office is very large and clean.

There is a $20 lunch available, with a wide variety of choices.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t meet the requirements; before long, you’ll be assigned to do something else anyway.

Cons

Layoffs, department changes, or pay cuts are not uncommon. They will even bring out the employment contract and say that you signed and agreed to a certain clause, so the company hasn’t broken the law.

When asked how to resolve this with the labor bureau, the labor bureau even said that it really wasn’t illegal—lol.

So, should you sign the employment contract or not? If you don’t, just look for another company.

Pros

The supervisor’s empty promises are less filling than a NT$20 restaurant meal.

Overtime pay can be applied for, but the supervisor explicitly said he would not sign the application form if it was submitted.

Normally, you can just do nothing and talk nonsense.

There is plenty of time to gossip and spread rumors.

If you want to work seriously, you’ll even be forced out.

Cons

A team working on forum-related projects.

In just over two years, the team has already disbanded twice.

This time, I saw on 104 that they are recruiting an entire team again

(PM, marketing, backend, frontend, app, and operations/maintenance).

I wonder whether the senior manager will get unhappy

and disband the team again a few months later.

Let’s wait and see!!

Pros

Very high turnover

Many newcomers and young people

The NT$20 restaurant meal is truly the only benefit,

but you get tired of the dishes after about three months

Cons

Many PMs leave on their own before completing even one year

(I was only there for half a year; of nearly 10 PMs, only 1 was left. The pace of recruiting replacements was far too slow compared with the pace of resignations.)

Although everyone had many different reasons,

such as being bullied and ostracized, being yelled at, unreasonable workloads, and so on,

one reason that everyone consistently mentioned was that the manager’s requirements were unclear.

The manager also did not know what they wanted.

They just kept telling everyone to make something for them to see,

and then repeatedly rejected it and asked them to redo it,

saying it was not the direction they wanted.

But when asked what they actually wanted, they would simply repeat the same unclear requirements,

for example, “Increase the number of unfamiliar users substantially within a short period, but there is no marketing budget at all; prepare a proposal for me to review,” or “Our direction is ESG; submit a proposal to me.”

But the proposals were rejected endlessly.

Many colleagues took medication after working for a few months and then resigning.

Pros

Waiting to be laid off

But I haven't been laid off yet

Cons

The company is out of money

In addition to the ongoing layoffs, I also can't get the resources needed to get things done. Handling external affairs takes up too much time.

Pros

Well, at least parking is cheap, and there’s an employee cafeteria (although I think the food is fucking awful), and the company’s facilities and infrastructure are decent. Chairman Chiao is generous with money, so it’s not really completely without merit.

Cons

If you’re applying for a sales position on the Japan Team, don’t waste your time interviewing with the current two J managers. All they want is a disposable pair of chopsticks they can throw away at any time. When it comes to salary in the first round, you can be bold—go ahead and open with 60,000. Even if they don’t initially agree, they’ll get down on their knees and beg you to come work there, because they’re probably desperately short-staffed right now. Without even getting into the managers’ bizarre management style, as far as I know, more than six people in this department have applied for internal transfers or quit altogether in just the past six months. Once you join, there will also be all kinds of bizarre, internally draining policies designed to make you unable to stay, plus the two-faced management style of male J and the neurotic, humiliating hazing from female J (she hides it at first—but really, only at first). Seriously! If it weren’t for the money, I would have quit in the first week! Overall, all they want is a scapegoat, because the pay here is too good and they basically have no long-term plans. So, when it comes to leading the team, all they need is enough time to catch their breath a few more times. As for how long they can keep breathing, or whether the team is healthy—that’s not something they want to care about. As long as they can collect a few more months’ salary, then one more month, then the next month, that’s good enough, because the pay is just too good!

Even if you’re not applying for the Japan sales Team, don’t worry! I know a manager for the Korea line who was hired in and told on his second day that he would be overseeing the Mainland China line. Then, a week later, they told him he’d better oversee the Taiwan line after all. When he finally produced results, he was transferred somewhere else. You ask, what happened to those results?

Sorry, they were directly credited to the next sales rep who took over. w

Pros

Still unknown

Cons

I interviewed for a PM position, but the hiring manager did not show up. Instead, a relatively senior colleague from the team interviewed me. In addition to the primary HR interviewer, there were also two new HR employees observing the interview. The overall experience felt very strange—it seemed as though I had been invited to serve as a demo for conducting an interview. I did not feel that the company cared about the interviewee’s experience; rather, it felt more like I was being used for an interview demonstration. In the end, as expected, I received no response.

Pros

The overall impression during the interview was good!

Cons

A company that is beautiful on the outside but rotten within! There are constant internal personnel conflicts. A senior executive surnamed P lacks both common sense and knowledge. I heard they previously worked at XinX Electronics and even went on stage to receive an award; the company’s originally good image has been ruined by this person.
