Pros

There really aren't any. Every day, customers berate us, and someone quits every day.

Cons

Internal management is extremely arbitrary, chaotic, and completely lacking in systems; decisions change from one day to the next. When the CEO doesn't make a decision, everyone just freezes. The boss's wife has an outrageously inflated sense of self-importance, perhaps thinking she's the general manager, but she isn't even technically a company employee. The boss's wife has no work experience or professional competence, yet she insists on meddling in everything.

The turnover rate is off the charts, especially among frontline colleagues. The company uses an antiquated legacy system, and no one wants to address the problems at their root.

You can find better options—don't come here and waste your life!

Pros

At the yoga studio behind Eslite Dunhua, I worked in customer service for about two years. The customer service colleagues were fairly easy to get along with, and the salary was around 30K. As for leave, you got as many days off as there were red-letter holidays. Employees could take classes for free. Since the owner also runs a music company, people from the entertainment industry—Alex, for example—were often seen coming and going. Those were pretty much the only advantages.

Cons

1. Most supervisors were parachuted in and did not understand the work or hardships of frontline staff. The business supervisor loved filing petty reports, while the training supervisor would only lead everyone in playing games. The senior customer service supervisor, whose surname was Chen, had extremely low EQ and only ever yelled at people; they never encouraged employees.

2. The entertainers who came and went were also more arrogant than the next in private. There was a former model surnamed Yin who had acted on PTS, as well as members of the Star Light Gang and the like. When they acted like difficult customers, they were completely different from how they appeared on television.

3. Because of the company’s style, customers were easily spoiled, so there were particularly many difficult customers. They would complain at the slightest thing, and the customer service supervisor did not dare call them back, leaving the people below especially overworked. Even though there was already not enough classroom space, customers were continually allowed onto the waiting list, which triggered even more complaints.

4. Year-end bonuses were sometimes given and sometimes not. Even when there was one, it was not much. One colleague called Human Resources to ask how the year-end bonus was calculated and was fired that very day.

5. In short, the personnel system and workplace culture were terrible. The supervisors were low-caliber and infighting was severe. There were supervisors who slacked off, those who only talked without doing anything, and those who did nothing but bully employees—every kind of lousy supervisor could be found there. General Affairs would only tell customer service to arrange repairs, and miscellaneous tasks from every department were dumped on customer service. The virtually nonexistent rules had nurtured a group of difficult customers, whom employees had to deal with constantly.

Pros

The HR person was pretty nice.

Although I feel like you contacted me at random.

Cons

The two interviewers were seriously too much.

I’ve never encountered anyone this arrogant in an interview before.

The air coming out of their nostrils was heavier than the makeup on their faces.

They looked completely like parachuted-in hires—LOL.

They kept interrupting me halfway through what I was saying.

One of them even left midway through.

The funniest part was that the other one kept trying to speak English,

but her English sounded absolutely awful.

English was only slightly better than her sour face.

It sounded awful, yet she insisted on speaking it—maybe go practice your speaking first?

After the interview, HR even apologized to me,

saying it might be because their supervisor was under a lot of pressure.

Screw that—who isn’t under pressure?

I only found out on the day of the interview that the gyms in both Shanghai and Beijing had closed.

Serves them right—damn it.

Pros

The company is in a prime location in Taipei, with convenient transportation.

There are many restaurants nearby, and the view from the 16th floor is great! Excellent natural light.

Employees can try the company’s yoga and spinning classes for free.

Cons

The gym operates during working hours, with the early shift starting at 6:00.

The head office is an open-plan space.

The seating is dense and cramped, with no privacy!

Employees dress casually, with no consistent style.

You have to change into communal slippers before entering the office.

The slippers look very dirty.

It feels awful knowing that so many people have worn them!

There are two interview rounds.

The first round is with a female HR manager.

ABC mixes Chinese and English when speaking.

Her gaze is frivolous and she seems unprofessional, interrupting the candidate multiple times.

She mentioned that she still had a very important meeting to attend.

The second round is with a male interviewer.

He kept giving a fake smile 😏.

He said he is currently serving as the acting business manager.

He only wants to find someone who can drive performance.

He does not want to hire a troublemaker.

Overall,

The interviewers’ image and manner

created an extremely oppressive atmosphere.

If you discover that a candidate is unsuitable, you should reflect on yourselves!

You were the ones who invited people to interview in the first place~

Wasting each other’s time. That’s enough!

Pros

· Space Cycle received a RMB 100 million investment from Alibaba Taiwan Entrepreneurs Fund.

· Takes a boutique fitness approach, with the facilities and atmosphere both well-executed.

· Many celebrities and public figures go there.

· Has locations in Shanghai.

· The official website is beautifully designed.

Cons

· The interviewer invited me to an interview without looking at my résumé.

· The interview consisted of two rounds and lasted approximately 30 minutes. It included a handwritten Chinese résumé.

Foreign-company exterior, Taiwanese-company core.

· The interviewer was returning to the workforce and had just returned to the company, so when I asked her in-depth questions, she replied that she did not understand or was unclear about them. The overall impression was very bewildering.

· During the interview, they encouraged me to quickly find someone to take an introductory trial class.

· After the interview, I was free to look around or book an introductory trial class.

Pros

The work environment is fairly comfortable (on a high floor). Flexible days off do not require make-up workdays. Birthday leave and a birthday bonus. Employees can take classes for free (but have to wait for a spot). Discounted employee purchases are available (slightly more expensive than online stores).

Cons

The company looks bright and polished on the outside, but its internal management is chaotic and disorganized. You could say it basically has no systems, with policies changing constantly. Many people are parachuted in from outside. The turnover rate is very high (general manager, finance, marketing, and HR). Customer service is on the front line, yet employees do not receive the compensation they deserve. The company’s systems frequently malfunction, but no one wants to address the root cause. Employees receive NT$1,000 each for the Mid-Autumn Festival and Dragon Boat Festival (no gifts); regular employees generally receive one month of year-end bonus, while some senior executives receive two months. If you are thinking about retiring, I highly recommend coming to work here.
