Pros

I have been working here in an administrative role for about a year.

I feel that the company’s style is to judge matters on their merits and give rewards based on performance, while rejecting cliques. This is a very good atmosphere.

Although some rewards can only be received in full after completing a certain period of service, I feel this is fairly reasonable for both sides.

I am not in a performance-based role, but I think the company offers quite a lot of benefits to employees in those roles, such as monthly performance bonuses and monthly or quarterly dinners.

There is also a year-end bonus system. For a small or medium-sized enterprise, it is acceptable.

The company really does not encourage overtime. Overtime pay can be requested and is paid in accordance with the law.

I understand that store managers need to handle issues immediately and bear more responsibility, so they also receive more bonus rewards. We in administration have fewer responsibilities and receive fewer rewards. I can accept that—it depends on the individual.

Taking leave will not cause you to be treated differently either. Overall, the atmosphere is OK. Judge matters on their merits, do your work well, and there is no need for scheming or infighting. For long-term stability, it is OK.

The owner and supervisors also give us considerable personal space and authority in our work, so we can get things done without being hindered or constantly second-guessed.

Good ideas can always be brought forward, and if they turn out well, they will genuinely be encouraged. These are just my personal thoughts, for everyone’s reference.

Cons

At present, I do not have any particular feelings about this aspect.

Two days off per week

Cons

Although they say there are two days off per week, you don't really dare to relax. If a client has an issue, you still have to reply immediately; if the store has a water leak or equipment goes offline, you still have to go to the site to deal with it! You're often disturbed even on your days off, and if you don't respond promptly, they'll call to chase you up.

On the surface, the company looks very open and encourages communication, but in reality, it's completely a one-person show. Even when you give your opinion, no one listens. The supervisor's temper creates a lot of pressure; one outburst often puts the whole workplace under a cloud. Instructions are never stated clearly, yet they still complain that everyone is wasting time, and in the end, make decisions based on their own preferences anyway.

The year-end bonus is still calculated based on the low basic salary, so honestly, it doesn't feel much like a reward. Performance-based commissions aren't paid simply for making sales either—you only qualify after reaching the target.

Recently, the company has kept opening new counters, but there have been no raises or additional bonuses. They make it sound as though it's for everyone's benefit, but in reality, all the pressure falls on the frontline staff. They don't pay anything extra but still expect us to do all sorts of tasks.

Pros

No advantages

Cons

Store staff are also expected to handle marketing exposure, so what is the marketing department supposed to do? The system is ridiculous too—we have to fill out a bunch of Google Forms even though the company’s backend already has the information. They could just pull the data from the database and generate a report. What is the point? There are countless hardware and software problems. Why hire so many half-skilled people instead of outsourcing for greater stability? Meetings are completely pointless, coming up with all sorts of useless marketing methods just to please the boss. There isn’t a single person with real ability, and the manager runs everything as a one-person dictatorship. It’s true that incompetent people are quick to get angry. Turning simple things into complicated ones is probably what this company does best.

Pros

None

Cons

The interview process was unbelievably terrible. First, after briefly going over my educational background and work experience, they started nitpicking my background, sometimes saying that my studies were irrelevant, or criticizing my work experience as unsuitable for a company like theirs (Are you a publicly listed company?). They even criticized the companies I had previously worked for. Then they started boasting about how innovative and creative their company was, repeatedly emphasizing how creative the owner was, while criticizing Taiwanese companies as having poor and flawed systems (If you’re so great, why isn’t everyone earning over a million like at TSMC?). They then asked whether I had researched what the company did beforehand. After I answered, they turned around and told me that my understanding was only superficial. The funny thing was that they never actually explained the company’s specific business; they just kept boasting that the company was constantly expanding its business and increasing revenue (Are they that short of money that they can’t do their core business well and have to desperately take on side jobs everywhere?). Looking them up online, you find that they merely operate businesses such as warehouse storage, second-hand electronics, and foreign-worker placement, yet they talked as if they were some publicly listed high-tech company. They then continued talking to themselves about how the company undergoes major changes every so often, and that the company only needs the strongest people, not the weak. The funniest part was when they finally revealed the salary offered after all that self-aggrandizing—I just laughed. Even someone working an hourly-paid part-time job would earn far more than that. The constant display of self-important language made it clear what level this company’s management was really at.
