Cons

During the interview, the supervisor was arrogant and highly skeptical of the candidate’s work experience, persistently probing every detail.

When asking the candidate questions, the tone was condescending and sarcastic, making the overall interview very unpleasant.

After interviewing with the technical supervisor, I spoke with HR to understand the company’s overall salary structure. I found that the company’s system appeared to be very incomplete. Regarding salary and bonuses, it sounded like they could be seen but not actually obtained. The interview attitude was arrogant, yet the salary structure was so laughable.

Pros

None at all—just one birthday day off per year and occasional afternoon tea snacks.

Cons

The previous descriptions of the drawbacks have already been covered quite thoroughly by senior colleagues.

I’ll add what I’ve experienced in recent years:

1. Department heads constantly shift blame, causing problems for employees below them, and the division of work areas between departments is unclear.

2. The company’s salary adjustment and bonus systems are completely unfair. Managers play favorites when distributing rewards. Even when they ask you to improve your work performance, they do not provide any concrete suggestions or communicate with you at the time; only when problems arise later do they blame you for not reviewing the shortcomings at the time.

3. Suggestions made to the company are never adopted, and after an employee resigns, managers publicly criticize them.

I advise recent graduates, especially those graduating around graduation season, to think twice if they receive an interview invitation or job offer from this company.

Pros

There are too many shortcomings to list.

Cons

1. (A word of caution) If you have ideals and aspirations for your work, do not try this lightly. You will absolutely regret it; many former employees have already warned others through their own experiences.

2. It is backed by a mainland Chinese-funded company and has changed its name and corporate identity (旭瑞文化傳媒股份有限公司), apparently hoping to go public, using shell companies and name changes to deceive investors.

3. There are no rules. The boss does whatever they want. There are many flatterers, while genuinely capable people are few and far between—and those who can actually get things done are instead suppressed.

4. There are constant internal struggles. The internal political power struggles are intense. Because of its mainland Chinese-funded-company background, Red Guard-style “struggles” are frequently staged. The boss really likes this kind of workplace environment. Even if you do not want to participate in the infighting, you cannot avoid it; sooner or later, you will be publicly criticized and attacked.

5. Senior people are frequently parachuted in. They are either people the boss considers outstanding or relatives and friends of the inner circle. They only know how to talk, and make things sound better than they are, but none of them last long. Once their boasts are exposed, they simply leave, leaving behind a mess for others to clean up.

6. There is no sincerity in how employees are treated; employees are regarded as slaves. Apart from salary, there are absolutely no benefits. Do not even count on the year-end banquet, spring dinner, or year-end bonus. Things that appear to be benefits are actually welfare committee fees deducted from your salary every month; the company provides no additional subsidy.

7. The boss is boastful and has a nouveau riche mentality, with virtually no cultural or educational background. Platform streamers are the boss’s true favorites. Employees who work themselves to death are treated as if their misfortune were their own fault and are ignored. If you have no further use value, you may be laid off at will, with absolutely no protection.

8. The company is actually extremely short of funds. It frequently sets numerous conditions to prevent people from receiving their earnings or withholds payments because the funding gap is substantial. The company does not own any assets and does not even decorate its offices; it simply takes over spaces left by other companies and continues using them. It could pull out at any time.

9. The company allows itself to be defrauded of money, employees to embezzle funds, and the boss’s drinking buddies to run up unpaid debts, among other things, without taking any action at all.

10. Employees who fabricated data or embezzled company property were rehired after being fired and some time having passed.

(Important) The comments previously posted on Tianyancha by other former employees were all true. The company’s outrageous behavior is truly jaw-dropping. This is a company with nothing but lies, deception, and working yourself to death, with no future. Think carefully before deciding for yourself.

Pros

The colleagues are great, and the environment is very good.

Cons

The company has only recently undergone extensive downsizing, with many people laid off regardless of department. The branches have especially more or less disappeared altogether. Anyone considering joining should make sure to inquire carefully before going.

Today’s company banquet made it completely clear what this company is like... It fundamentally does not treat its Taiwanese employees as people.

At first, they said they didn’t know that Taiwan had the custom of holding year-end banquets, yet the mainland side held its own year-end banquet. Then, when Taiwan finally managed to secure the opportunity to hold a spring banquet, mainland employees came all the way to Taiwan to take away Taiwanese employees’ prizes? Moreover, the boss’s speech only mentioned how hard the “streamers” work, completely disregarding the efforts of the employees below over the past year. They had apparently forgotten that the spring banquet was held for the employees. The more Taiwanese employees listened from below, the sadder they felt. In their eyes, Taiwanese people are nothing more than disposable labor.

Pros

Cons

1. Everything is done through brute force; they only know how to use clumsy methods, so efficiency is poor. Requirements are a complete mess, and no one manages them.

2. What they say during interviews they will have you do is completely different from what you actually do. They are basically deceiving people into joining. Do not fall for it.

3. Management does not care whether you are exhausted. They just insist that you get it done, and there is no overtime pay. Sometimes they even force you to work overtime.

4. You have to work with a bunch of people from mainland China and even have to cater to their moods when doing your work. It is incredibly frustrating.

5. You are expected to work yourself to death, while not working overtime is considered unacceptable. Management is a complete mess.

6. Political infighting is severe. Employees at the bottom are treated merely as tools, and many people in management can do little more than talk.

7. They have actually been losing money all along, and the benefits are shockingly poor. They just keep using “startup” as an excuse, while trying to rebrand and change their image.

The boss is from mainland China, and so are his trusted associates. He has been permanently based in Taiwan, booking out the Mandarin Oriental for who knows how many years as if it were his own home. He also booked the presidential lounge on the 12th floor of Cashbox as his second home. He spends hundreds of thousands in a single night standing at clubs, day in and day out. The trusted associates he brought in are given titles such as director or general manager, and merely accompany him to clubs to have fun while earning hundreds of thousands a month. He desperately gives money to other tycoons and streamers, handing out hundreds of thousands or even millions, but ordinary employees should not expect to get a damn thing. Overtime is basically standard across all departments. For units that start at 10 a.m., it is completely normal to still be working at four or five in the morning. Do not expect overtime pay either; you should be grateful if you can occasionally claim compensatory leave. At the year-end banquet, he said he did not know that Taiwan places great importance on year-end banquet culture, nor did he know that Taiwan requires year-end bonuses. Last year, he even tried to muddle through it; this year, we can only see whether he has a conscience. The basic employee health check he mentioned still has not been provided after two years at this company. As a frontline employee, I have long regarded benefits as nothing more than floating clouds; all I asked was that the company not break the law. It turns out it cannot even manage that: there is nothing for excessive working hours, basic labor health checks, or anything else. He talked about taking employees on a company trip to drink beer on a beach, but instead he desperately spends money sending streamers around the world, while employees still get absolutely nothing. Only his trusted associates get to accompany him to clubs and entertain women on the company account. Employee salaries are low, but the demands are that you be a lion and remain on call 24 hours a day; you are given only a little dog food in return, while having to constantly tolerate him smoking everywhere in the office. It is a completely nouveau-riche mentality: he wants things done his way, treats employees like dirt, and cannot retain staff. Frontline employees in marketing, talent management, customer service, product, and other departments are constantly leaving, yet he never reflects on the benefits, compensation, or systems he provides. Even after people pointed out that there was insufficient manpower to take on new business that should not have been accepted, his own people quit. His attitude is: “I am not going to give you much, but you must help me get exactly what I want done as well as possible.” In the company’s early days, he still had the mindset of a mainland Chinese boss: Mainland boss: “I’ll work you to death, but I’ll give you some money for medicine.” Taiwanese boss: “I’ll work you hard, but I won’t be so cruel as to work you to death—and I won’t give you anything.” After the company’s boss became permanently based in Taiwan, it directly merged and upgraded into: “Not only will I work you to death, I won’t give you anything either.” He often compares us with 17. He has already pushed people to work to a level indistinguishable from 17, but you never see comparable compensation or benefits for the same positions and work. Remember that the company’s compensation and benefits are probably only about half of 17’s. His latest famous saying is: “You have to do better than 17, or get lost,” while completely avoiding any mention of compensation or benefits. As for frontline employees, even when he has no choice but to retain people, the only benefit he can offer is: “I’ll change your job title.” That is all. Your title becomes more impressive—specialist becomes senior specialist, senior specialist becomes team leader, team leader becomes supervisor, supervisor becomes deputy manager, and so on—but your pay is not adjusted. You are expected to shoulder more responsibility, with a promise that you may have a chance to get an adjustment if you perform well. He habitually keeps people with nice-sounding titles while giving them nothing, simply making them bear more responsibility. Perhaps he already feels that this promise is his great benevolence. He claims to be far-sighted, but often just plans an activity for a period of time and then suddenly takes the activity or system offline the moment he is dissatisfied with one thing. When the results are poor after his decisions, the people who get blasted are still you. His mentality is like a child’s. After desperately giving money to streamers, he even makes childish remarks at major public events when those streamers switch platforms. He cannot see that streamers simply want his money; if they can switch to something better, who would care about him? He was hurt when those major streamers left for 17 despite all the money he had given them, but afterward he still never thinks about the frontline employees who help him clean up the mess and take the blame. If you have worked in the livestreaming industry, do not come here unless you can negotiate your ideal salary; go directly to another livestreaming platform. If you have worked in the livestreaming industry and want to test the waters, be mentally prepared for limitless responsibility, mandatory overtime, and a state in which frontline employees are not treated as human beings. You can get some experience here, then move on to another livestreaming platform.

Pros

They make it clear right away that you’ll be working overtime until midnight, so no one’s time is wasted.

Cons

I interviewed for a marketing position. The two marketing managers looked fairly old, but the questions they asked made me wonder whether they actually understood marketing.

The questions were extremely unprofessional.

They kept emphasizing that the livestreaming industry is very demanding and that there are many new things to learn.

They asked whether I would tip the streamer, implying that only by tipping could someone understand the livestreaming industry.

(Just because I don’t spend money doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy playing games, right???)

They asked whether I could accept working crazy amounts of overtime and having my salary slashed significantly.

The office was run-down, and even after the interview ended at 8:30 p.m., many people were still working.

I received an offer but declined it. A terrifying place.

A responsibility-based work system. HR explicitly said that even if you work a full 24 hours a day, there will be no overtime pay or compensatory leave. Working more than 12 hours a day is the norm. Many former colleagues have reported the company, but it remains unfazed and continues to exploit its employees. The biggest accomplice to companies like this is the government.
