1. A beautifully edited promotional video, reportedly produced by employees themselves, was very uplifting and innovative, with each department head wearing color-changing contact lenses to participate in the performance.

2. Snacks and beverages were provided during the test.

3. The group interview used a two-interviewers-to-many-candidates format. Candidates raised their hands to answer questions based on case scenarios. The two interviewers distributed the number of questions evenly and scored candidates based on their answers.

4. The interview notification stated that it was a group interview for a networking equipment PM position, but a sales position was also being recruited in the same session. Before the interview ended, candidates could express their preferences and interest to the interviewers.

5. The employee benefits promoted by HR were quite good.

1. The location is far away. After leaving the MRT station, there is still a stretch of road under construction to walk along. The surrounding area lacks basic amenities.

2. Many people were interviewed at once, making the overall process time-consuming. The interview numbers reached the 60s that day, with approximately 30 to 40 people actually attending.

3. No overtime pay is provided. Depending on project requirements, employees may need to fly to factories on the other side of the strait 3–10 times.

This company displayed an extremely disrespectful attitude throughout the interview process, leaving me feeling confused and uncomfortable.

First, they actively invited me to an interview, but during the first interview, the two male interviewers deliberately posed algorithm problems that were completely unrelated to the position. Throughout the process, they also repeatedly displayed a contemptuous and dismissive attitude, as if they were simply trying to demonstrate that I was “not suitable.” Even more absurdly, two or three weeks later, they notified me to attend a second interview and required me to make a special trip to Beitou for the appointment.

However, the situation at the second interview was even more unreasonable. Before the interview, I had to complete a test lasting more than an hour and a half—including visual logic, English questions, and similar tasks—and was then forced to wait a long time before meeting the interviewers. During the interview, they even brought in a young woman whose identity was never explained. She was not introduced at all, yet was allowed to sit in and even participate in the “interrogation.” During the conversation, they repeatedly flipped through my résumé and criticized me in a sarcastic tone: “Your résumé makes you look like you’re really impressive, but in reality you’re this bad.” After saying everything they wanted to say, they finally asked me to verbally introduce my portfolio. Throughout this, they had an attitude of “So what? What next?” and seemed determined to reduce my entire person to a single programming question. Even more uncomfortably, one of the male interviewers repeatedly exchanged suggestive glances with the woman and jokingly asked her whether she still wanted to “give me a hard time.”

The entire process was completely unprofessional—not only drawn-out and excessively lengthy, but also carelessly arranged and filled with sneers, contempt, and humiliation. This kind of interview not only wastes time, but also conveys a serious lack of respect and demeaning treatment of the applicant’s dignity.

The halo of a large company; you can freeload, scam meals and drinks, and get laid outside.

At the fruit-phone company, there is a short, bald, notorious manager who has many years of seniority but cannot get promoted, is twisted and evil inside, and spends working hours cursing people to die. Every day, you live under verbal abuse.

The building looks nice—that is its only advantage.

They seemed sincere when inviting me to an interview, but after I arrived, the receptionist “accidentally” shouted, “Huh!? They’re only a backup candidate!?” while calling the interviewer. They even casually picked a dirty outdoor corner and said the interview would take place there. Their attitude throughout was as rude and hostile as treating livestock. No wonder such a lousy company is flooded with negative reviews.

Also, in the invitation email, they asked interviewees to fill out a standard résumé online all over again—a waste of time and a mere formality.

The headquarters lobby is beautiful, and the receptionist is beautiful.

I made the long trip to Beitou for an interview for the 5G small cell BSP software engineer position.

The tests included: 1. Personality assessment, 2. Visual logic assessment, and 3. English test.

I then went to another building for the interview. The supervisor initially asked me to introduce myself. Since the recruitment email did not include information about the 5G small cell BSP software engineer position or its job responsibilities, I asked the supervisor to explain the job responsibilities. The supervisor then gave a brief explanation.

Next, the supervisor stated very directly that they expected employees to work until 11 p.m., offered no overtime pay, paid very little, and that the work pressure and difficulty were high, so employees needed to have a high level of passion. (This clearly violates the Labor Standards Act.)

After only ten minutes of interviewing, I felt that they were in a hurry to dismiss me. Does anyone know what was going on? P.S. I have more than ten years of work experience.

The company follows a survival-of-the-fittest culture. If you’re capable, your superiors will worry that you’ll take them down,

so they’ll find a way to get rid of you;

but if you can’t do anything, you can have a great time there,

and even with a performance rating of D, you won’t be laid off.

Manager Mao at the Guishan plant is incompetent, so there is freedom of action.

Because the supervisor is incompetent, they spend all day thinking only about protecting their own position.

I’ve heard that overtime is generally part of the culture; the duration depends on the department.

The surrounding area has limited amenities and is far from downtown.

The benefits are pretty good, and the leave is fairly generous too. It’s suitable for older employees looking to coast into retirement.

Salaries don’t grow according to ability, and the adjustment is so low that it hardly seems like a tech company! Annual compensation is about 16 months’ worth of salary; new engineers with master’s degrees from the top four universities are offered NT$50,000 per month. Please don’t come here and drag down the market rate.

Most managers are stereotypical old-school bosses: they don’t pay overtime but love making people work it. Performance reviews are basically used as overtime pay, and newcomers won’t get a share anyway—unless you consider yourself exceptionally good at acting.

If you have mediocre qualifications and just want to coast, it’s fine. If you have talent or want to see attractive women, you’d be better off choosing the company next door—or anywhere other than here.

Chatting with the supervisor was quite relaxed. The assessments included the TOEIC test and a logic test.

After the supervisor notified me by phone that I had been accepted, they told me that the HR process would follow and that acceptance would usually be successful. But when the final result came, they suddenly reversed their decision, saying that the top manager thought my major was unsuitable and rejected the hiring request. What a waste of my time waiting. Most importantly, I had previously turned down offers from other companies, and now I have to start looking for a job all over again.

The interviewers explained the job responsibilities fairly clearly. Both interviewers were very friendly.

Before the interview, there was an English test that was essentially a TOEIC computer-based test—basically, a free test.

At the end of the interview, they said HR would send an offer. A week later, they simply updated the job posting without notifying me of the result.

No response.

No respect whatsoever, no professional dialogue whatsoever—it’s simply “whether they like you or not.”

They reveal absolutely nothing about the job duties, just one sentence: “Making IoT fixtures for overseas.”

HR invited me to attend a recruitment event, but on the day of the interview I discovered that around fifty people were participating. When I asked HR how many positions were available, I couldn't get a definite number. In the group interview, each person spoke only a few sentences on average before it ended. It felt like I had been tricked into helping HR meet their recruitment targets, and the overall impression was quite careless.

The gym is pretty good, and you can go on weekends too (but does anyone really love staying at the company that much? Haha)

There is a meal allowance.

A friend works there as a hardware engineer (doing things like circuit boards). The base salary is around NT$45,000, but I heard there is no overtime pay. Compared with other companies that do pay overtime, the total compensation is actually lower. Also, the supervisor really doesn’t want to leave work; they still haven’t left at 9 or 10 p.m., making other people afraid to leave too. It seems they have absolutely no intention of controlling working hours.

1. The compensation is okay, though the salary offer for private university graduates may be set low.

2. If your performance review is damn good, your salary increases by 20% each year, but since your salary base is low, the increase is only kimochi.

3. The meals are decent.

1. You clock in when you arrive and are responsible for your work after clocking out. Averaged out over the hours worked, the hourly wage is about the same as at a gas station.

2. To do a good job, one must first sharpen one's tools; clearly, they don't understand this principle. Recently, they apparently wanted to save money by discontinuing the licenses for some tools and switching to shoddy products from across the Strait. Who knows what other astonishing moves they have in store for the future.

3. Quoting someone else's thoughts: The senior executives have risen through the ranks purely because they were born under a lucky star; they have no real ability.

The advantages are that the company’s benefits are fairly good, with quite a few benefits of various sizes. The location is also fairly convenient in terms of transportation, and all kinds of internal matters can be handled using electronic forms. The systems and procedures are well established.

I have no particular opinion about the company, but I have very strong objections to the department I belong to.

The “Understanding, Understanding” department under the BU responsible for mobile phones and tablets.

1. The supervisor’s attitude toward subordinates is similar to the Chinese Communist Party’s attitude toward Taiwan: applying pressure through verbal and military intimidation and taking a high-handed stance, with absolutely no respect for people.

2. After joining the department, one colleague discovered that the actual job responsibilities differed greatly from what had been discussed in the interview. After raising the issue, they were instead required to do their utmost to complete work outside the scope originally agreed upon before being allowed to perform the work that had originally been discussed.

3. The technical level is extremely low. At other mobile phone manufacturers, R&D staff can—and should—handle mobile-phone feature modifications and maintenance themselves. But the R&D staff here only have the ability to perform testing and report error logs to customers. They have only OEM capabilities. In all likelihood, even someone from a non-technical academic background could come here and work as an R&D engineer.

4. The supervisor’s requirements are all unrealistic. To use an analogy, it would be roughly like asking you to build an airplane capable of crossing the Pacific Ocean using two pairs of bamboo chopsticks.

5. Combining points 1 and 4, when interacting with subordinates, the supervisor does not really think about the weight or impact of what they are saying. They lash out whenever they feel like it, and when making demands, they only care about enjoying the sound of their own voice and getting excited, without considering whether the demands are reasonable.

6. The focus of the work here is testing, testing, and more testing. The supervisor only cares whether you perform testing skillfully. They have little involvement in the software architecture or implementation of the project’s products.

Conclusion: This is actually a QA unit rather than an R&D unit.

It’s no news that the PM team is worked to the breaking point; during project execution, getting off work at midnight is something that happens all too often. If it weren’t for the red-unit retention bonus, staying would be extremely un worthwhile. Without overtime pay, you might even earn a higher hourly wage working the overnight shift at a 7-Eleven.
