When I submitted my résumé, the posting said that applicants with no experience were welcome, which is why I applied. The person who called to schedule the interview was also told repeatedly that I had just graduated and had no work experience. They said they would inform the supervisor and expressed that they really hoped I would come for an interview.

On the day of the interview, everyone before me was interviewed for nearly half an hour. When it was my turn, it ended in less than five minutes.

The interviewing supervisor looked extremely unpleasant and was also very rude. After seeing that I had no work experience, they did not even let me introduce myself and directly said, “Oh, we’re hoping to find someone with a bit of experience.”

I was completely dumbfounded. Why waste three hours of my time waiting for you? Didn’t you say applicants with no experience were welcome!!! We confirmed it several times....

Cons

The female manager of the Finance Department is caustic and spiteful, loves making sarcastic remarks at people, and enjoys stirring up trouble, as if afraid the world might be too peaceful.

She has gone through a great many assistants under her, has extremely poor emotional management, and in all my years in the workforce, I have never seen anyone so shameless—a complete fence-sitter.

Pros

The HR staff were polite and nice.

Cons

Sales Manager Interview Experience:

The company environment is not very spacious, the seats are somewhat cramped, and the aisles are narrow, with basically no privacy. There were many people, but the atmosphere was not lively at all; most of the sales and technical staff had no smiles on their faces.

The interviewer was a sales supervisor. The questions lacked sense, and as someone newly appointed to a management role, they did not appear to have a managerial mindset. Most of the questions asked were standard questions from interview books. They did not value personality traits and were unwilling to share any information about the company’s products, business model, or culture. Overall, you would feel that the interviewer had a very superior attitude.

Interview advice:

If you want to pursue a high salary and exchange ideas with the company about its organizational philosophy, don’t waste your time here.

Benefits keep getting cut. The year-end party and spring banquet were canceled, and the annual salary adjustment keeps being delayed. Even the original NT$1,000 holiday bonuses for the three major festivals were reduced to NT$300 gift vouchers. I don't know whether the half-month bonus in the middle of the year is still available. When employees have questions, they just keep shirking responsibility and muddling through, and they aren't willing to respond directly. I really don't understand what the HR department is doing...

The air conditioning is very cool.

Cons

There are no problems with this company, because anyone who raises a problem gets “resolved.”

Pros

I feel that many people completely abuse Jobscan (求職天眼通). Although I have already left the company, I feel that some clarification is needed to set the record straight, so that certain people with poor work attitudes do not turn around and blame the company for this and that.

Pros:

1. Snack benefits on Mondays and Wednesdays

2. Half a month's salary in the middle of the year and 1.5 months' salary at the end of the year

3. The work environment is fairly relaxed. Once the high-pressure busy period has passed, you just deal with the remaining miscellaneous tasks. Those who make a huge fuss about working on projects probably have not worked at other office-type companies.

4. Great flexibility in taking compensatory leave, and more annual leave than other companies. (However, this depends on the situation in each team and whether you can actually take it. I heard that the Taiwan team has an easier time taking leave because of its shift schedule. In my team, you just shouldn't request too many days off; the other team members will not make an issue of it.)

5. Salary increases. This is both a pro and a con: compared with companies where raises are impossible for two or three years, it is a pro, but the size and ceiling of the raises are the con.

Cons

1. The Hong Kong team has to work overtime on holidays. It seems that some colleagues on the Taiwan team do not have to, but I am not sure.

2. Benefits are really slow to be paid out. Apart from the year-end bonus, which is the only thing that is not delayed, everything else is handled very slowly and sluggishly, with the excuse that the boss has not approved it yet.

3. There are projects that need to be completed, and the company says they are to help complete the system, while also requiring employees to use up their compensatory leave. The supervisor has no idea how to achieve both objectives.

4. The system is truly awful. Every day, I worry about whether it will cause customer delays. I do not understand what the company is doing by refusing to upgrade the system.

5. The supervisor is not from Hong Kong anymore, but one came by once a while ago. Basically, I did not really have any opportunity to speak with them.

6. The salary is below average. I joined at NT$24.5K. For Taichung, it is not as bad as NT$22K, but it is not particularly good either.

Pros

The only advantage is that the year-end bonus is slightly higher; everything else is a disadvantage.

Cons

1. The supervisor is very snobbish and stupid. He is good at taking credit, while everything else is left to you, including the work that actually requires effort.

2. Once you join, it is best not to resign. After you leave, every mistake will be blamed on you, including things he himself foolishly failed to understand.

3. Besides claiming that things he got wrong were mistakes you made, he will also deduct employee benefits and demand that you return what you were supposed to receive.

4. All employees are idiots, while he is the strongest and has done everything—how amazing. But when you actually ask him, he always says he needs to ask someone else.

5. Birds of a feather flock together. The people driven away by that supervisor are supposedly not like him, while those he recruited are just as stupid as he is and remain comfortably in their positions.

6. Benefits are calculated based on guesswork. If he calculates them incorrectly, he will still demand the benefits back, but everything is considered your own problem and unrelated to the company.

7. The supervisor will brainwash you by saying that being employed by the company is your good fortune and that you definitely will not find another job after resigning.

8. He holds meetings all day and says he is very busy, but no one actually knows what he is doing, and there is nothing for him to do anyway.

9. Be careful if you work for him; he will target people. When he asks you questions, you do not need to take them too seriously—he does not trust you anyway and will go ask someone else.

10. He runs the Hong Kong company like a small or medium-sized factory, and he was also responsible for five supervisors leaving in two months.

11. Benefits are delayed until the very last moment; they are only issued after employees say they will file a complaint with the labor bureau.

12. After the personnel administrator was replaced, salaries were often paid incorrectly, and he blamed the previous administrator while claiming it had nothing to do with him.

13. After you resign, the supervisor will keep badmouthing you and damaging your reputation because he thinks this is how he can prove that he is important.

Absolutely terrible. Joining this company is basically putting yourself through a trial by fire. Hopefully no one else gets deceived!

Pros

Advantages cannot be left blank

Cons

(1) Low pay (this has already been mentioned in other reviews, so I won’t say much more about it)

(2) No overtime pay for working overtime on projects (the supervisor said this would not be the norm, but I’ve personally encountered it twice. Colleagues who resigned also said they had encountered it several times. So what exactly does “not the norm” mean? Is it abnormal?)

(3) Severe internal infighting (I heard from senior employees that this is part of the company culture)

(4) High employee turnover. Before resigning, it’s perfectly normal for people to vent their grievances, dump the blame, leave clients hanging, and hand over work carelessly. Basically, whoever takes over is out of luck.

(5) Want to take annual leave but can’t hand your clients off to anyone? Don’t worry—when you take annual leave, just remember to work on your clients. You can do it at home, bring your laptop with you, or even use your phone! Also, if you take too long and the client complains, it still counts against you.

(6) The supervisor...... Anyway, the supervisor is a drawback too. No need to spell it out.

Anyway, after I happily collect my year-end bonus, I’m going to resign.

Pros

None at all

Cons

The company’s own system is terrible and keeps going down. While we were waiting for the system to recover, we looked at our phones for a moment and got mocked by our supervisor. Later, they even used this as a reason not to assign more staff to our team, saying, "We don’t have time to serve customers, yet you can still play on your phones." It’s clearly your company’s system that is horribly designed and keeps going down, yet you use this to lecture us???? No wonder the turnover rate in the entire office is so high—serves you right! We have never done any less of the work we were supposed to do, so why should we earn only 22K and put up with all this crap?????

Pros

(1) All three seasonal bonuses are provided; there is an additional small year-end bonus for the Mid-Autumn Festival and a large year-end bonus before the Lunar New Year.

(2) Working hours are from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sometimes, by using compensatory leave, you can even leave at 1 p.m.

(3) Basically, as long as you handle your own responsibilities and become familiar with your clients, you may occasionally need to work overtime to prepare reports, but you will receive overtime pay and can also choose to convert it into compensatory leave.

(4) Socializing and entertaining clients are not required. If you prefer to quietly focus on your own responsibilities, that is fine too. Unlike the service industry, where you have to put on a smile, this workplace values professionalism. As long as you take responsibility for your work, you have a high degree of freedom.

(5) Although salary increases come with promotions, isn’t that the case at every company? There are two promotion opportunities each year, and they depend on your own efforts—there are no under-the-table dealings.

(6) Because the work content varies according to different clients’ needs, you get to see news from different fields and can increase your professional knowledge of specific industries.

Cons

(1) The starting salary is not high at first because you have to be trained from the ground up, but it can increase after promotion.

(2) Sometimes you need to accommodate the company’s temporary needs and handle some additional assignments.

If you have questions about the job, why not go and see for yourself? Every job has advantages and disadvantages—it depends on which aspects you choose to emphasize.

Pros

(1) As for things that make you happy... you have to find them yourself. Basically, if you don't get along with your colleagues, there won't be anything to be happy about.

(2) If I really have to say something, getting off work at 3 p.m. for a regular workday is pretty good. If you use compensatory leave hours, you can leave as early as 1 p.m.

Cons

(1) In terms of salary, there is basically no raise unless you get promoted. The probationary salary is 22K, and even after finally passing probation, it only goes up to 23K. I heard that even team leaders don't earn 30K.

(2) The Hong Kong headquarters often requests numerous projects and the preparation of various materials. Many projects take a great deal of time (including time after work, of course), yet the project compensation is not much...... Some projects do not offer any compensation at all, and they coax and deceive obedient employees into doing them.

(3) The supervisor's way of dealing with people and handling matters is overly forceful.

Pros

For an established company, the pay is quite generous—roughly at the level of the gaming industry (possibly because it is a Hong Kong company).

Cons

The HR department is fairly unprofessional; they even got the time wrong when calling to confirm.

There was no response after the interview.

They keep posting job openings but never respond with the interview results.

I saw several other victims with the same experience on PTT.

Applicants should carefully consider whether to attend the interview.
