Pros

The interview was conducted in a group format. Although it was somewhat nerve-racking, it also provided an opportunity to understand my own shortcomings.

I was able to find out whether I had been accepted about five minutes after leaving the company following the interview, which was quite efficient.

Cons

None.

Pros

The work environment is flexible, transportation is convenient, labor laws are followed, and the boss is a doctor with a lot of talent.

The company has so few employees that you can count them on one hand, but there are plenty of seats, so perhaps you can choose your own seat (maybe).

Cons

The boss really speaks unpleasantly. When angry, he is the type to insult your ancestors, take out his anger on others, and be aggressive.

The boss has a lot of ideas about work, but usually will not express them (and is unwilling to explain even when asked). You need to guess what he is thinking. If you cannot guess correctly, you may be judged as incompetent, and then he will get angry.

The attitude toward employees feels a lot like employees are disposable chopsticks: if you do not do the work, there will always be someone else who will. Many details make people feel that employees and their professionalism are not respected.

Because the company has so few employees, there may be little to no handover or onboarding. The systems and procedures are also somewhat unclear, so you need to figure things out on your own.

Therefore, even though the salary is fairly good, turnover is still very high. Those who want to do their work properly are advised not to join; it really makes you feel that you would rather give up the money.

Pros

The designers within the company are highly capable.

Cons

1. Before laying off employees, this company did not report the layoffs to the relevant authorities. First, this was illegal; second, it seriously affected the laid-off employees’ rights to apply for unemployment benefits, employment counseling, and other assistance.

2. Reason for being laid off: Not being a heavy Internet user. The CEO said this was not the real reason; the real reason involved legal risks if disclosed, so they chose not to inform me.

Pros

【Q8 News Website Editor/Planner】

The group interview allowed us to hear many people’s project presentations and speaking styles, which was a good opportunity to learn from one another.

They have strong principles.

The pay is quite good.

The boss and CEO are fairly honest.

Cons

1. It’s a startup, so perhaps resources are limited. Although the position is titled Website Editor/Planner, it also involves handling a large amount of online consultation customer service. Basically, it cannot be considered a normal editor/planner position—you have to deal with the high volume of inquiries first before having time to work on planning. It feels like you are expected to regard yourself as a professional customer service and consultation representative (since it is in the medical industry, nurses are especially suitable), with planning as an “additional” duty.

2. After work, you have to constantly check whether there are important messages requiring immediate attention. This is understandable, but not something everyone can accept.

3. The boss is a doctor and seems to have very little patience. He may scold employees to the point of causing psychological distress, so those who are emotionally sensitive should consider carefully.

4. Interview process: At the beginning, we were asked to submit a project proposal online. It seemed that no one had been screened online, and dozens of people were divided into several group interviews. The applicants’ qualifications varied widely, each person was given little time, and it was unlikely that the company could understand the applicants’ personalities—especially when each person had only a little over ten minutes. The first few people to present were particularly unlucky and became guinea pigs. Although the email asked us to focus our presentations on website planning, at the interview they complained that we had not prepared presentations specifically addressing consultations and personality traits. Those who presented later were luckier because they could use the earlier presentations as a reference and adjust their oral presentations and self-promotion to focus on what the bosses wanted. However, this was very unfair to those who presented first. Overall, I felt it was an inefficient group interview, and that this approach would only drive away good planning talent.
