Their evaluations take place in the middle and at the end of the year
As a newcomer, you are evaluated during the three-month probationary assessment
Also, if you clock in before 8:30 a.m. and enter the company, you cannot eat breakfast while using your phone
If the assistant manager sees you, you will be reprimanded just the same
They say that once you clock in, you are on the job
Then why does the contract say that the workday starts at 8:30—is it just for show?
Even if you arrive at 8:00 a.m. to eat breakfast and finish eating at 8:20, you will still be reprimanded

One part of the assessment is called the A-test, with more than 40 items
You will not be told that these are included in your evaluation
The key point is that the senior colleague training you will only tell you to do a few A-TEST items involving bare-board testing without disassembly
After you finish, they will ask you to support them with their other tasks
They will not tell you at all that you also have to complete the other A-TEST items
Even if you finish your work and ask the manager what else needs to be done,
the manager will only tell you to continue supporting the senior colleague
Then, after three months, you will have spent all your time helping with the senior colleague’s projects
You will receive the lowest score for not completing the A-TEST
If you point out what happened, they will brush you off by saying that they were evaluating whether you should continue with the A-TEST
Then they will say ridiculous things about being the lowest-ranking manager and therefore working very hard
and that other colleagues completed everything
They may even tell you irrelevant things, such as that a certain colleague has a Ph.D. from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology
5. Every year, there are credit-earning activities to complete
You must earn 40 credits, which are included in promotion evaluations
There are all kinds of activities
They include internal classes, external classes, reading groups, and certification exams, as well as extracurricular activities such as volunteering and sports
But basically, you do not need to worry about them
If you cannot finish them, the manager will hold classes to make up the required hours
If you sign up for non-professional classes, people will comment on it and you will not be allowed to attend
They say that people in R&D are very busy and do not have time to participate in those activities
6. There is a tidiness competition from time to time
Someone will inspect whether the lab benches and office desks are clean
The top few and bottom few will be announced
Then, money will be deducted from the people in the bottom group and used as prize money for those in the top group
7. An assistant technician cannot be promoted to engineer without a master’s degree
If you perform well, the company may keep a position open for you until you finish your studies and return to work

There are serious factions within the department, excessive overtime, and a very poor work atmosphere.
I do not recommend that people without connections join the company.
Many colleagues are nice.

Unpaid overtime every day; you can’t go home before eight or nine. Every problem is blamed on FW. Low efficiency. Department heads are all parachuted in. There is absolutely no training—just throwing useless information at you, then sending you into battle and later blaming those below for being incompetent. Newcomers are not advised to go there—it’s like committing suicide. The company’s R&D turnover is also high. Inexperienced employees have to shoulder a pile of responsibilities, while superiors refuse to take responsibility; they themselves are incompetent yet still dare to impose a bunch of unverified rules. Overall, it can only be described as a rotten pear dressed up as an apple.

Wasting the job applicant's time
The interviewer was friendly.
They were candid about the working conditions.
The salary is very low. Before I went, HR said that, based on the full salary package, it could meet my salary expectations.
When I arrived for the interview, they said it could only barely reach that level when averaged over the entire year.
Even though I already have several years of sales experience, the manager said that because I had not worked with the same products, I had no relevant experience at all and would need to learn from scratch—ideally starting as an assistant.
They asked several times whether I was willing to start as an assistant, which was astonishing.
Then they dangled the prospect of possibly being assigned to the United States after a few years.
The working hours are extremely long, often until 9 p.m. They said that, because of the Labor Standards Act, they do not encourage employees to work overtime too late (around 7:30 p.m.).
But you are expected to take your laptop home and continue working.
