Pros

Work pressure is not too high, and my colleagues are generally easy to get along with.

There is very little overtime.

Cons

Too many tedious and useless spreadsheets, and meaningless meetings (which also last a long time)

The division of responsibilities between departments is unclear, making collaboration difficult

There is no salary adjustment system, and aside from perfect-attendance bonuses, there are no other bonuses, benefits, or transportation subsidies

Pros

There isn't much pressure at work, the colleagues are decent, and the office is clean.

Cons

1. Employees are required to clean the office themselves.

2. The managers have a poor relationship and often argue.

3. The company has no systems in place. There are SOPs, but people often say one thing and do another, making it difficult to understand the situation.

4. The head of the Sales Department is a real piece of work.

5. There are too many managers at the company—about one-third of the workforce—which makes management positions seem cheap and devalued.

6. The company offers few benefits, yet NT$100 is deducted from our pay every month as a welfare fund contribution.

7. There are too many managers who are just dead weight and out of touch; they only start frantically preparing when they have a meeting with the boss.

8. The boss's mood is unpredictable.

Pros

Colleagues are easy to get along with because everyone can (more or less) be considerate of one another thanks to the company culture and systems.

Cons

1. There is no training at all for new hires. The supervisors themselves are unclear about the situation, and there is no documentation to refer to. Each supervisor has a completely different management style, resulting in people who join at the same time having completely different levels of understanding and ramp-up times.

2. The starting salary is really low—NT$25,000 for fresh graduates. Unless you are extremely interested and highly able to withstand pressure (the closer it gets to the launch, the more work there is), this position is not recommended.

3. There is no unified system across departments, making it easy for departments to pass the buck and leaving responsibilities unclear. It is easy to end up taking the blame for no apparent reason.

4. The job description is completely different from the actual work, and there is limited opportunity to learn.

Pros

Because the company’s systems are incomplete and upper management is inconsistent about whether to get involved, in some respects you have room to do things in your own way.

Cons

1. The supervisor’s mood is unpredictable, and they are inconsistent in what they say. They often contradict something they said themselves a day or two earlier, yet act as though it were perfectly reasonable.

2. Because the company’s systems are also incomplete, responsibilities are only vaguely defined, and it is common for departments to pass the buck when dealing with an issue.

3. New hires basically receive no training. When they join the company, they are given materials and told to read them on their own. No one teaches them or explains how the company operates or its current situation.

Pros

You get to interact with vendors from many different industries and can visit exhibitions for free. It’s a pretty interesting industry... I guess?

Cons

I interviewed many years ago, and the base salary for sales was only 17k. Now it’s probably around the minimum wage of 23k? The closer it gets to an exhibition, the more frequent the overtime becomes.

Pros

You can listen to music while working, and there are birthday celebrations.

Cons

The boss speaks extremely loudly and berates people every day; the entire office can hear him yelling.

Besides that, he also wants to control the whole company and frequently gives all kinds of instructions. The problem is that the managers under him often do not understand what he wants, frequently issuing contradictory instructions or setting unreasonable goals.

Salaries are not paid on time; you have to remind them repeatedly.
