Pros

None

Cons

The manager who conducted the interview went on and on about how great everything was, and HR joined in, painting an unbelievably rosy picture to lure people in. Once you join, you discover that everything is a complete mess. The “benefits” basically consist of deductions from your performance rating and pay; getting a raise is harder than reaching the heavens, and they deduct money here and there. No wonder the turnover rate is so high. This company is even officially recognized by its governing authority as difficult to deal with—it loves doing things differently from everyone else, leaving the authorities shaking their heads.

Pros

I can't think of anything positive.

Cons

The job posting I saw on the job bank described work-management duties similar to “workflow improvement,” but when I arrived on-site, it had changed to “general affairs + security guard rotation.” They even told me something like: “Look at those big presidents and CEOs—they all started in general affairs.” The salary was NT$26,000, with two weeks in general affairs (weekends off), followed by rotation into security work (three-shift scheduling, including overnight shifts). For a job with overnight shifts, this salary is far too exploitative. They also required me to fill out a bunch of forms, and the interview questions felt like they were trying to get free ideas, with questions related to internal improvement such as: “How can the company prevent internal talent from leaving?” and “What do you think is the biggest problem facing Taiwan’s small and medium-sized enterprises today?”

I feel like they advertised one position to attract people to an interview, only to tell them about a different position once they got there.

Pros

No advantages

Cons

The salary is extremely low

The benefits are absolutely terrible

There are tons of awful people within the company

Especially the senior old-timer in General Affairs (the bald one), a highly paid freeloader

Pros

It feels like a company that will not go under anytime soon. Most of the younger employees are fairly easy to get along with, but its former glory has long since disappeared.

Cons

The interviewing department deceives applicants (painting an overly rosy picture of the prospects). On the first day, new hires have to sign a work agreement... This allows the company to change employees’ job duties without obtaining their consent or adjusting their salaries... I already felt on the first day that I had fallen into a trap and did not want to go. A senior gentleman in General Affairs (the one with the barcode-like head + very despicable). The company’s internal conflicts are extremely well known in the industry. Senior management lacks both vision and perspective and only cares about money. Turnover is extremely high... If “poor” were the only option available, Haiguang would absolutely be far worse than poor—truly awful and rotten to the core...
