Pros

I really can’t think of any pros; it’s as bad as it gets.

Cons

1. The entire company is basically a “family and friends” company. The senior management are either someone’s relatives or someone’s friends—connections really do pay off.

2. The boss has an extremely strong need for control, for reasons I can’t understand. Every week, we have to attend these utterly meaningless meetings, sometimes more than once a week. Each one lasts at least one or two hours, just to listen to everyone report on their work progress from the previous week. No decisions are made at all. Does the boss think they’re a university professor listening to group members present their projects??? It’s an enormous waste of work time. If you really love meetings, this place might be worth considering.

3. The senior managers have absolutely no work capabilities. Someone holds the title of Marketing Director but can’t provide any ideas or assistance with the work, can’t help move projects forward in the slightest, and doesn’t even have basic accountability. In the end, you still have to handle everything yourself—only later did I find out that this person was the boss’s sister-in-law. Well, okay :)

4. They appear down-to-earth and willing to listen to employees’ opinions, but in reality they completely ignore employees. Issues and people that clearly need improvement are always casually brushed aside; they make no effort to deal with them and pretend nothing is happening.

5. The salaries and workloads of middle managers are completely disproportionate (apparently, only employees with “connections” have a high cost-performance ratio). They like taking small advantages with employees’ time, making you sacrifice some weekends to deal with work.

6. Even though they clearly know that some employees are seriously problematic and affect the company’s overall operations or discipline, they turn a blind eye and do nothing. Even when issues are reported, they respond apathetically and let these problematic employees continue affecting the team.

7. To put it nicely, there is a quarterly bonus. In reality, the quarterly bonus is just part of your year-end bonus split off and paid out over four quarters—and the amount is very small. Absolutely awful :)

8. They use a “boiling frog” approach, gradually stuffing you with tasks outside your original scope of work. Naturally, all of it is unpaid.

9. If they fail to retain you when you resign, they will start subtly badmouthing you to current employees. They say they want to talk with you to understand your reasons for leaving, but they can refute every point you raise. They don’t think there is anything wrong with their company policies or personnel at all. To this company, “there are always more people to hire,” so how could they genuinely value employees?

10. Training is weak, the organizational structure is chaotic, and insufficient support resources are provided, yet employees are expected to be ready to perform immediately. All I can say is, that’s wishful thinking.

Summary: If you’re a fresh recruit with plenty of energy, don’t mind low pay and lots of work, and want to treat it as a learning experience, you’re welcome. As for me, I got out :)

Pros

It’s a fairly stable job and probably won’t suddenly go bankrupt or lay off employees.

Cons

The turnover is high, and everyone seems to be out of the loop. The procedures are complicated, yet there is no proper training. When you’re still unfamiliar with things, you’re expected to handle matters independently, and any mistakes are deducted from your performance results. Even when many people submit their resignations, management still doesn’t review the problems from all angles, refuses to listen to employees’ suggestions, and thinks they’re never at fault—that talent can always be found again. In reality, staffing is severely inadequate, and conditions keep deteriorating, exhausting the employees who remain.

For junior supervisors, the pay is barely any higher, while the responsibility-based system often forces you to sacrifice your days off or frequently provide support elsewhere. They use PUA tactics to pressure you into showing “team commitment.”

Pros

1. It is a relatively young and more dynamic company

2. A diverse range of products

3. Its agency brands include beanbag chairs, skincare products, and electric vehicles

Cons

1. The base salary is high, but the commission is low, and it is rarely possible to claim overtime

2. It is a family-run business; there are considerable issues within the company and among regional supervisors.

Work is inefficient and lacks systems, and they do not listen to employees’ suggestions

3. Products are often out of stock or backordered. Even when a shipping container is scheduled to arrive, it is

uncertain what products it contains

4. The work often extends beyond the scope of the position, and the allowances are not proportional to the job responsibilities

5. There is no promotion evaluation process; whether you can be promoted depends entirely on whether senior management likes you.

Otherwise, even if you work yourself to the bone, you still cannot get promoted

6. Every month, employees have to complete a self-evaluation form, amounting to 12 forms a year, but the quarterly

bonuses and year-end bonus are very small
