Read the community guidelinesAll the standard benefits are provided (though not many). There is a hotel lunch at noon for which employees pay NT$10. Since it is part of the employee department store, some of the shops offer small discounts. Outside peak periods, things are relatively relaxed.
Days off are scheduled on a rotating basis. Overtime can only be exchanged for compensatory leave, with no expiration date (unless you resign, in which case you are paid for it).
The salary is relatively low. For the three major holidays, they just give gift vouchers for the company’s own stores or a few hundred dollars; even the maximum is no more than NT$2,000.
The office supervisors all have their own ideas and are unwilling to listen to others’ opinions. They always put themselves first and strongly dislike young people and those without work experience. Older employees may be more perceptive, but usually they cannot keep working after just a few days. They keep staffing to a minimum and then make people do as much as possible, seeing how long they can push them. The upper management is extremely self-important, but in reality is not very capable either. Looking around, all they can do is talk. The organization has been rotten from the roots, so it is easy to imagine that the results will not be very good either.
Because the foundation was never properly established, many things still need to be repaired and organized. There are the old miscellaneous tasks on top of the current ones, and basically there is not a day when everything gets finished. Everyone procrastinates whenever possible and just gets through one day at a time. A bunch of the facilities and items in the venue have been repaired and adjusted for years without ever being properly fixed. They break down or develop problems every few days, treating only the symptoms and never the root causes.
A monthly lunch voucher; one meal costs NT$10. Access to Lihpao Land at discounted prices, including rides on the Ferris wheel. Most stores in the shopping center offer small discounts and employee meals.
At the year-end banquet, employees still have to prepare a performance to entertain the vice president (the additional red-envelope bonus is no more than NT$8,000). Low salary with no holiday bonuses for the three major festivals (far below the industry average; only the vice president’s own recruits get paid more). Days off are scheduled rather than fixed; overtime is compulsorily compensated with time off. The year-end bonus is less than 0.5 months’ salary, or even nonexistent (I only received NT$2,500 last year). The company’s senior management are all conceited, incompetent, and fond of talking themselves up. Don’t be foolish enough to apply. Salaries never get adjusted, the promotion system is completely opaque, and the benefits are terrible—an awful company.
