Pros

Work experience: Overall, it was basically doing odd jobs.

Cons

The manager is an old guy. Whenever there is a problem with the company’s own products, he starts complaining that the products are terrible. He would even ask whether new hires know how to use them. My inner thought was: If I knew how to use them, would I still need to come and learn from you?

Even more outrageous was an occasion when a typhoon day off had been announced. Early that morning, the manager called me and asked whether I wanted to go to the company to learn things from him and, while I was there, practice driving a manual-transmission truck. (At that point, I was thinking again: The trip there takes 50 minutes, so going there and back takes nearly an hour and a half. There was no wind or rain in the morning, but by the afternoon there were strong winds and torrential rain. The day off had already been announced the day before, yet you’re telling me you only found out that morning that it was a typhoon day off? If you don’t care about your life, I still want to live a little longer.

I strongly recommend that anyone considering working for this company think twice.

Pros

I'm not really sure; perhaps the fact that the interview wasn't very difficult could count as a strength.

Cons

I have to warn people that the overall interview experience was extremely poor.

Before the interview began, I had to fill out their company's application form.

In the spirit of mutual trust, I filled in everything I could.

Downside 1.

They made the interviewee wait outside for about half an hour (I arrived on time).

Downside 2.

The middle-aged, balding male interviewer really had no idea how to respect people, and I don't think he knew how to interview people either.

After seeing the weight I had entered, he said in surprise, "You're that heavy? Stand up and let me take a look."

Downside 3.

After seeing that I had a scooter license, he said, "I'm not discriminating, but women riding scooters, you know... um... it's dangerous! Hey, don't ride a scooter."

Isn't he being biased himself? That's discrimination, isn't it?

Downside 4.

He kept answering phone calls during the interview, wasting the interviewee's time.

Downside 5.

He was the one who invited me to the interview, yet he complained that I was a fresh graduate.

Downside 6.

For ten or twenty minutes of the interview, he kept talking about how old his son was, how much fun he had in college, and how many points he got on the Joint College Entrance Examination back then.

He was just trying to prove that "he doesn't understand what college students are thinking."

Downside 7.

When introducing his own company, the interviewer was vague and lacked professionalism.

Overall, I feel that I wasted my time and transportation costs today

just to chat with an old man about unimportant things.

It can't even really be considered gaining interview experience.

Oh, the interview I went to today was at the Taipei location.

Unclear

Cons

Interview process:

Since the interview was scheduled for 13:30, I arrived about ten minutes early out of courtesy. However, perhaps because their lunch break lasted until 13:30, the office was extremely quiet and dim, with the lights turned off. What left the deepest impression on me was that immediately to the left after entering the main entrance, there was a reception desk and seating area (with both tables and chairs and seats consisting of chairs only). There were only three chairs in the table-and-chair area, yet one person was sitting there scrolling on their phone, while another person was lying down and sleeping, even snoring... Because they were resting there, the receptionist handed me the application form and asked me to fill it out in one of the chairs-only seats nearby.

To be honest, this did not leave a good impression. Although it was their lunch break at the time, it was genuinely my first time seeing someone sleeping in the lobby. Moreover, writing an application form while sitting on a chair was very difficult. Their lobby was also somewhat chaotic, and I could not tell whether there were other departments inside, so it was impossible to get a sense of the company’s size. When it reached 13:30, the receptionist called everyone to wake up, and I moved to the table-and-chair area to continue filling out the application form.

After finishing the application form, I waited for the supervisor to come for the interview. Basically, we only exchanged a few words: they asked about the company and work content of my previous job, then briefly introduced their company’s business situation and the duties of the position. Honestly, it made me feel as though there had been no interview at all. The entire process ended in less than half an hour.

Interview advice:

The business assistant position mainly focuses on answering phone calls and introducing the company’s product specifications, followed by shipping operations. However, the interviewer said that warehouse staff would assist with shipping, so the only responsibility would be to confirm the shipping information. Overall, the job duties seem simple and clear. The starting salary is NT$28,000, with a salary adjustment after the three-month probationary period. If you are interested, you can give it a try.
