Pros

The workspace is nice, and things were harmonious enough during the first year.

Cons

TL;DR: If you’re a designer thinking of applying, you can join and use it as a place to build experience. Engineers should still go elsewhere.

=================

At Zhuanzhuan, projects are almost always managed by a single PM, who was unwilling to hire additional help. My last impression was that they found an “intern” to help manage this part, but I don’t know what happened afterward.

Zhuanzhuan does not actually place much importance on engineers. During interviews, the basic standards for junior candidates were too low. Because the frontend team was squeezed for time by projects, there was not much time to mentor new hires. This affected both project quality and progress, leaving engineers with limited room for growth. To them, engineers were simply responsible for putting the designs online. The overall focus was mainly on design, but when designers had bolder ideas, they were constrained by the engineers’ actual capabilities. As a result, taking the website’s implementation further became a major obstacle.

The backend was basically just applying PHP tools such as WordPress and PrestaShop, with a few additional features at most. Even during busy periods, there was only about one engineer responsible for managing the systems.

When the boss was there, it was basically the noisiest time in the company. Many things were pursued with only three minutes of enthusiasm: after saying “That’s so cool,” there was never any follow-up. They wanted to develop independent products and tried several ideas, but none came to anything. The boss repeatedly claimed to enjoy mentoring newcomers, but was not the person primarily doing the mentoring. There was even a case where they hired an intern, discovered that the intern knew nothing, and then let them go. Although they were the boss, they appeared to understand the company the least; it would be more accurate to say that the PM seemed more like the boss.

The benefits seemed good on the surface, but they were mainly used for self-promotion on Facebook. There was not much emphasis on personnel management. In the end, things steadily deteriorated because of management problems, and the benefits were reduced as a result.

Pros

1. Any ideas can be proposed.

2. Designers can gain experience building an e-commerce website from scratch.

3. Workflows can be discussed and optimized with colleagues.

Cons

I originally thought this was a place that embraced newcomers and provided as much of a learning environment as possible, but only realized when I resigned...

1. Underreporting of labor and health insurance at a high salary level (the insured amount on the salary statement was falsified; I only found out by obtaining the records from the Bureau of Labor Insurance myself).

2. The company is very good at maintaining a superficial image on Facebook and its official website, making it seem as if the company had potential like a Silicon Valley startup. In reality, 轉轉 is just a project-based outsourcing company.

3. The boss is very good at making grand promises.

4. Just look at the photos on the official website showing how many people are left on the team, and you’ll know how many senior employees remain.

5. Job openings are constantly being posted, yet the company still has fewer than 20 employees (what do you think?).

A word of advice to everyone: please question the 4.9 rating on Google Maps reviews.

Pros

I visited the space, and it felt great.

Cons

I initially had high expectations for this company, but the salary was unexpectedly far below the market rate. It wasn't even worth considering—a waste of time.

There were hardly any benefits either, and they even said there was a three-month probation period with reduced pay during that time.

The interviewer seemed very unprofessional, and the position was not quite as described in the job requirements; they expected you to know how to do everything.
