Pros

The relationships between colleagues are okay. There is free lunch, and products can be purchased at the employee price.

Cons

Administrative staff do not receive overtime pay. There is so much work that it is impossible to finish everything, so you can only work unpaid overtime. The base salary is also kept very low, and after the six-month probation period, there is only a slight salary increase. Supporting the production line comes with extra pay, but it is not paid according to the overtime rate. One particular administrative department has to take care of everything and handle all kinds of tasks.

Pros

Sounds very appealing.

Cons

During the interview, they made it sound great.

They gave the impression that the company’s policies were excellent.

They portrayed it as a happy workplace.

But after I joined, they immediately explained that their method of calculating overtime pay

was completely inconsistent with the Labor Standards Act.

They calculate overtime pay based on a base salary of 26,400,

and the same applies to holidays.

All I can say is: run.

Pros

Full-time employees enjoy staff discounts, and the work is a little easier than that of convenience store clerks.

Cons

The holiday bonus isn’t much, and orders are insanely busy around the holidays.

Cons

The security guard’s attitude was extremely poor and he spoke very rudely to interviewees.

Once, I went for an interview and said I was there to find Human Resources, but he told me that no interviews were scheduled that day. It was extremely infuriating—the low-level security guard was acting like a big shot.

Breaks are taken in rotation rather than at a fixed time for everyone. In any case, there has to be someone on the production line. Even though no meals are provided, they still deduct NT$50 for meal expenses. Employees also have to pay out of pocket to have a name stamp engraved for filling out reports and for work-related use, as well as to buy the company-required soft fabric shoes.

I don’t understand why employees can’t wear cloth shoes or work shoes. They have to wear those soft fabric shoes.

The main point is that employees have to pay for them out of pocket, and the company neither provides shoes nor offers any subsidy.

After the interview, I had absolutely no desire to work there!

I applied for a production line position. The starting salary is extremely low, and they require substantial overtime—three hours every day—with additional work on holidays. This clearly exceeds the legally permitted overtime hours. HR paints an overly rosy picture; looking at the administrative department, it seems incredibly relaxed and comfortable, but just listening to the production department makes it feel extremely exploitative.
