Pay extra attention to these companies. I have resigned, so I’m not sure whether they might operate under other names in the future.
Knowing that they are on the fourth floor of the Datong Bank building in Dadaocheng, please keep your eyes open—whether you are looking for a job or dealing with them as business partners.
The rank-and-file employees here do not engage in office politics. My supervisor was fairly honest (just unable to withstand pressure from upper management, but there was nothing he could do). However, after the company imploded, everyone has now left, so this advantage is effectively gone as well.
Please go straight to the cons section below and keep your eyes open.
Yes, dear boss, I know you have visited the forum before. If you see this post, yes, don’t bother guessing who I am. If you don’t actually want to solve the problems and only want to fob us off, we’ll find every possible way to deal with you. Don’t be too disappointed in me—the “good” things you did behind the scenes indirectly ruined my life. We’re the ones who should be disappointed, aren’t we?
Also, to a certain accountant: I’ll give you only one piece of advice. If you continue being blindly loyal and do whatever you shouldn’t do, be careful—those who commit too many injustices will bring about their own ruin. When the time comes and he cuts you loose to save himself after everything comes to light, don’t complain. We won’t feel sorry for you or sympathize with you either.
The job description, sources of funding, and process planning have already been posted here by someone else, so there’s no need for me to repeat them. I’ll go straight to the more serious parts of my personal experience.
Not paying wages was bad enough, but I never expected them not to pay the off-the-books amounts such as labor pension contributions and employment insurance either. What a “great boss.” In the former case, someone told me about it, so I checked and there really was a gap in the records. In the latter case, I only found out about what they had done when my application for unemployment benefits was held up. TMD, I don’t want to deal with—and can’t do anything about—their shady dealings, but for me to bear the consequences as well—what the hell did I do to deserve this? After I chased them three times and made repeated requests, they finally handled it after several days. They gave us leave for “personal reasons” the day before the mediation meeting and court appearance—what amazing efficiency!
They cry that we were unwilling to settle. Have you gotten the point wrong? Anyone who has dealt with you knows that all you do is fob us off. You should have been grateful that I asked you to handle the unemployment-benefit issue without also filing a claim for damages. With this way of doing things, being brought to this bitter consequence and punished is only natural. Don’t blame us for being heartless. If you don’t want to resolve the matter, then resolving you instead is only fair.
The business model is good, and there is quite a lot to learn from it. The hardware facilities look fairly new, and the space is also quite large. The employees are generally young; during an interview, I had a pretty good impression.
There is quite a lot to do. The company hopes its employees are highly capable, but they also need to share a revolutionary spirit—enduring hardships together and keeping salaries low to strive for the future before the company takes off.

This is my genuine experience after working at this company for a period of time.
After the excellent and highly cooperative partners left, there were absolutely no advantages.
Please refer directly to the shortcomings below.

(Perhaps there are more ...); this company has been "start-up" for ten years.
The shared Yang-surname boss and manager uses outdated, unoriginal marketing methods (TV advertisements, sponsored news coverage ...),
which provide absolutely no benefit to the products or the company in terms of marketing results.
1. When suggestions or recommendations made by company professionals do not align with the manager's intentions or ideas, the manager will contradict them and make sarcastic remarks (criticize them) as if they are completely useless, directly interfere, and show no respect whatsoever for the thoughts or opinions of talented employees. If the employee continues making recommendations, they may be given dirty looks or even be dismissed under fabricated pretexts. P.S.: You only need to follow the boss's arrangements and instructions (the boss is always right); your expertise is worthless.
2. When something or an event comes up, the manager really likes to hold meetings, but has [extremely] poor time management. Schedules are often arranged according to personal needs and ideas, and every meeting lasts "at least" one hour, yet the meeting content is often not planned in advance, has no clear direction, and interferes with other people's mealtimes or time after work (and overtime pay cannot be claimed ... see item 6). For example, meetings may not begin until 12:10 or 17:50.
During meetings, another manager may use illogical or unclear wording to lead the manager's thoughts astray, affecting the focus and objectives and causing the meeting to completely lose focus.
3. The manager is very good at making grand promises and often speaks eloquently about dreams for the future, telling employees (hypnotizing and brainwashing them):
Buy a car in three years, buy a house in five years, achieve financial freedom in seven years; the company is already looking at land for its headquarters; the company will go public or be listed on an OTC market at a certain time. The manager also tricks and exploits investors, using investors' connections to advertise and appear on television, promising investors even bigger things, while completely unwilling to invest money in projects conceived by the manager, unwilling to take responsibility for the company's success or failure, and only wanting investors to provide funding [treating investors like idiots]. When funding is available, it is instead used in other directions (to fill holes?).
4. In 2019, the company once used measures such as “weathering the difficulties together,” unpaid leave, and pay cuts to pressure employees into voluntarily resigning because they could no longer endure the situation.
In 2021, the same thing happened again: “weathering the difficulties together,” unpaid leave, pay cuts, and promises to make up the wages after the company overcame its difficulties.
The manager used poor acting [red eyes, seemingly about to cry] to tell employees, “I really don't want to do this. I will shoulder all the debts myself,” along with other rhetoric to brainwash employees.
5. The company lacks the planning, processes, systems, and corresponding professionals it should have (even when such professionals exist, they may be insulted or forced to resign because they do not comply with management's wishes). Resources (money, equipment ...) are not adequately provided, while demands are countless. Some people in the company hold multiple positions without a corresponding history of skills training (they are simply told to look up information online). There are also relatives and associates of the management who have no professional ability or knowledge whatsoever and may harass company employees at will.
6. Employees can choose between [overtime pay] and [compensatory leave] for overtime. However, the manager says that [applying for overtime pay will make the management] have a bad impression of you. Compensatory leave is not necessarily allowed to be taken either; depending on the company's needs, the manager may prohibit compensatory leave, annual leave, and personal leave at any time (a blanket ban).
7. The manager's direction changes every day: heading east one moment, north the next, then making a sudden 180-degree turn. This applies not only to employees but also to the company's product specifications and rules—everything is decided by the manager. The manager does not explain anything to customers and responds to opposition simply by covering it up and blocking it. (The manager's famous saying: “If you're unhappy, don't come.”)
8. Company A posts a recruitment advertisement, but employees are hired by Company B to evade legal issues and liabilities. Alternatively, an employee may initially join Company A, only to be transferred directly to another company after some time without being asked (even if asked, you would not dare to object), with seniority recalculated ... etc.
9. Nine-tenths of the benefits listed on employment websites do not exist. There was an instance in which labor and health insurance premiums were deducted from salaries in advance, but the company had no record of actually paying those premiums for employees. The company also takes other people's ideas, modifies and presents them as its own creative work, and uses them to apply for government resource subsidies.
None at all...
The purpose of this company's operations is to attract investors' funds. In the past, it had many engineers, but after the accountant discovered problems with the accounts, unexplained funds were transferred to personal accounts, and there were even suspicions of collusion with Sky Technology X to launder accounts. All the accountants were forced to resign, and the HR manager was also fired after seeing the company continually exploit its workers and reporting it to senior management. Finally, a group of veteran engineers blew the whistle, revealing that labor insurance premiums may not even have been paid. Now, I've heard that... only two engineers remain. This company often takes advantage of government subsidies and uses investors' connections to advertise and appear on television. It even publicly lied during a television interview, claiming to have very strong cybersecurity... I've heard it plans to enter the financial startup sandbox... The lies just keep getting bigger... My goodness... I really can't bear to see those retired elderly investors being deceived anymore.
The interview was conducted alone in a small room, with air conditioning and tea provided.
1. The surroundings are quiet and transportation is convenient.
2. Located in an office building with security guards downstairs, although a group of people smoke by the entrance.
3. The space is large, clean, and bright.
4. Annual leave, personal leave, and sick leave are provided in accordance with the Labor Standards Act, with no other benefits.
They did not review my résumé beforehand, so because the compensation they could offer did not meet the requirements stated in my cover letter, we both ended up wasting our time.
1. Uniforms are required, the atmosphere is dull, and entry and exit times are strictly controlled.
2. If you really leave too late or work a shift on a holiday, you must apply in advance for compensatory leave.
3. The technology is relatively outdated and has not been systematized or standardized into processes. (HR also complained that there are a lot of bugs.)
4. When discussing the company's situation, HR's and the technical staff's accounts did not line up, although I later clarified the matter.
Interview process: HR introduction > technical written test > technical interview > salary discussion with HR (if you pass this stage, an interview with the boss will be arranged)
They said that they are just a small company, and that my current salary was probably higher than that of even the managers and senior engineers there. They then impatiently muttered on for a while, even though it was still below the upper limit stated in the job posting. Moreover, I had clearly stated my current salary and expected compensation in both my cover letter and résumé. HR was highly unprofessional.
