Pros

A former employee has returned to provide an update.

Cons

I saw that your company has been sued by another employee again, so I came back to add my perspective~ I hope all newcomers to the workforce can see this article. This is not the first time your company has been sued by its own employees, and you even hired three lawyers to countersue?

There is no need to go easy on you because you are simply a rogue company. You do not pay wages, do not comply with labor laws, and instead turn around and sue employees, demanding that they sign promissory notes. If you join, you will only end up with depression. I sincerely urge everyone not to join!

Pros

Workload was excessive, but my professional abilities improved significantly

Cons

*Family-owned company — I classify this type of structure as a drawback

*There was once a rule that each person was assigned an area to clean. If caught not cleaning it thoroughly, a fine was issued.

*There was once a rule that every employee had to invite customers to attend classes. If no one was invited, a fine was issued.

*There was once a rule that fines could be cleared by distributing promotional materials during off-hours. If there was no time to distribute them, it was also possible to 【pay to cancel the fine】.

*At one point, the positions of graphic designer and brand consultant had neither a base salary nor labor and health insurance.

*As for other matters, since I have no tangible evidence, I am choosing not to disclose them as a self-protective measure.

I left the company a long time ago. I have added the phrase “there was once a rule” to the experiences described above to indicate that there may be a possibility that things have improved.

However, I still have relevant photos, screenshots, remittance records, and other evidence for all the examples mentioned above.

I hope your company will devote more effort to improving its own systems.

Pros

The environment is very clean

Cons

I went to an interview four years ago.

The interview consisted of a group of people sitting at tables in the lobby filling out forms.

At the same time, they also gave us a large envelope containing company information and successful case studies from the company (very similar to the kind handed out at exhibitions).

After we finished filling them out, we went to a conference room where the manager introduced the company.

Next, the applicants took turns going onstage to introduce themselves, and then the manager wanted to look at the skin patterns on our fingers.

The second-round interview notification was sent to far fewer people. At that time, I did not have much experience. During the second interview, I asked whether they provided labor and health insurance. The manager said that health insurance was provided, but labor insurance was not.

They said I could either have NT$3,000–6,000 deducted from my salary to enroll in labor insurance, or receive an additional NT$3,000 and enroll in an external plan myself. They then said that enrolling externally would be more cost-effective. In the end, I thought I would give it a try first.

During the internship, it was just me and another marketing planner.

For all three days of the internship, we only watched instructional videos.

Some of the company rules were really quite strange.

Every morning, all employees had to attend a meeting (before the meeting, we had to chant the company’s guiding principles).

You were forced to eat lunch at the company (whether you brought your own lunch or bought food to bring back), while watching company videos. Before eating, we also had to participate in motivational chanting.

In addition, the internship was unpaid.

Even when it was time to leave, we were not allowed to go home; we had to wait a full 40 minutes before we could leave.

And even then, only we new employees were allowed to leave first. From what I saw, the other employees had not left yet.

After I went home, I assessed the situation myself and felt that there were no two-day weekends, the working hours were long, and I felt as though I was being treated like a slave.

The next day, I did not show up. In the morning, I called to inform them, but since the manager and relevant personnel had not arrived yet, I told the receptionist that I would not continue reporting for work.

After that, the company called me incessantly.......... Since I had no intention of going back, I did not answer the company’s calls.

When I had gradually forgotten about the incident (about three months later),

I received a call during dinner from the new planner who had interned with me at the time,

asking why I had not returned..................

But the point is, I had never given my phone number to the planner at all (after all, we were not familiar with each other).

To be frank.... it was incredibly frightening..................................

And after seeing everyone else’s accounts, I feel really lucky that I did not go back then.......................

Absolutely none

Cons

There is no base salary and no labor or health insurance. In addition to signing an employment contract, you also have to sign a NT$50,000 promissory note.

Although you are hired as a contract designer and are paid a percentage of each project, you are also expected to clean the premises, clock in and out, call customers to book classes, and, when customers come to the company for classes, help with parking, reception, serving food, and washing dishes.

If you are lucky and a customer likes you and wants to hire you for a design project, you still have to submit the project you received to compete with all the other designers in the company.

If the company participates in a franchise exhibition, you have to help set up the booth like a laborer, attract customers during the exhibition, and memorize sales scripts.

After accepting a project, if you want to resign before completing it, you not only have to hand over the project but also return the money you have received. Otherwise, the company will sue you.

Completely exploitative

Pros

The restroom and the environment looked nice.

However, the space was built with corrugated metal sheets, and it was winter when I interviewed, so it was very cold.

Cons

I interviewed there a few years ago, so I don’t know whether they still use the same process now.

First, there was a mass screening interview, with multiple positions being interviewed for at once. There seemed to be around 30 or 40 people in total that time, making it feel like a competitive interview and giving the illusion that the company was very capable. After entering and filling out the forms, all the interviewees were taken into a conference room to watch a video introducing the company. Next came self-introductions and questions from some interviewers. The strangest part was that they wanted to examine your fingerprints. I don’t remember the details, but in short, their boss was very superstitious about this and believed it was an accurate way to find employees (or “slaves”).

This first stage eliminated at least half of the people (older applicants and those with children to support were eliminated). At the time, I was still naively happy when I received the phone call notifying me about the second interview. For the second interview, you had to wear formal attire, prepare a PowerPoint presentation introducing yourself, and choose a background BGM track to play while presenting. Afterward, the company would directly announce the list of people formally hired and explain their employment conditions to everyone: no base salary (everything depended on how many projects you received), no labor or health insurance (you had to figure it out yourself through the guild), a commission-based system (you only got paid when a client chose your proposal), flexible working hours (with no upper limit on working hours), and competitive bids (competing with colleagues by pitching against one another for the same project). After hearing all that, I was completely stunned. There wasn’t even labor or health insurance or a base salary. When I was leaving, the administrative staff member kept trying to persuade me, saying things like, “I think you’re very suitable for this job—please think it over,” and “Let’s work hard for the company together.” Looking back, I was really too naive at the time. A company like this isn’t even worth hesitating over, although I ultimately still declined XD

Today I received another interview invitation from them, which brought back these memories, so I couldn’t help searching again. I found that they had even paid someone to write a promotional interview article for them—truly outrageous. I’m sharing the promotional article’s URL below:
