Read the community guidelinesA high degree of autonomy at work; once you finish your work, no one bothers you.
A family-owned business
Only one person remains in the electrical and mechanical engineering department, and they have trouble managing their emotions
The mechanical engineering department manager has no time to train newcomers and appears to lack professional competence; it is often difficult to get professional advice from them
The capabilities in the PM department vary widely: some are unfamiliar with the product development cycle, some are very forgetful, some do not know how to narrow down issues, and some are capable of consolidating information
Cross-departmental and departmental meetings are often very ineffective. Issues are frequently left unresolved, and meetings sometimes end without even reaching a consensus. The meeting conclusions are also written up haphazardly
The salary is paid on time.
The internal infighting in the R&D organization is extremely serious. The managers do not do their actual work and focus exclusively on political maneuvering, trying to get rid of subordinates who do not obey them. They cannot demonstrate any professional knowledge in their area of expertise, and they have no system or logic when doing things. They only tell others to follow their instructions, even though they probably do not know the reasons themselves. If you do not follow their illogical way of working, they will say that you do not behave like an employee. They only want the people under them to do exactly as told, like mindless machines. They have even said things like, “We might as well hire middle school students.”
Managers pass the buck whenever they can. When the boss summons them to ask questions, they shamelessly pretend to be innocent. They will do everything they can to obstruct projects, telling familiar vendors that someone else’s project is not urgent and that all work should be done on theirs first. After delaying other people’s projects, they will even make sarcastic remarks about subordinates in major project meetings. I often see the manager chatting with their lackeys, mostly because the manager’s fragile ego has been hurt and they want to be comforted :)
They are now urgently recruiting recent graduates because they are easier to deceive. They are very good at making grand promises and talking about their own visions, and recent graduates tend to be more obedient, which also lets them satisfy their vanity. Think very carefully before joining this organization. Projects are assigned randomly without regard to people’s abilities, and when the time comes, the managers will only shift the blame onto you, saying that they cannot manage you—even if you have followed all their instructions, they will still say that.
If you value your life, really, do not join.
