The company is the Taiwan branch of the well-known Korean online game Black Desert. On the day of the interview, I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out an application form and take a written test about customer service. The questions were generally about the duties of a customer service representative, the attitude customer service staff should maintain, and how to respond to unreasonable customers. After finishing, I entered a meeting room for the interview. There were three interviewers in total, but none of them introduced themselves. The first question was to introduce myself, and I thought I performed quite well in this part. They then asked about my lack of previous customer service experience and why I wanted to enter the gaming industry. During this part, I felt that the interviewers were not very willing to hire an inexperienced newcomer, and their tone was somewhat pointed. After I answered, they explained the job duties and benefits. The company currently mainly provides online text-based customer service and does not offer telephone customer service. The working hours are from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., with shifts assigned. Shifts are scheduled one month at a time, and there are eight days off per month. Because I traveled to Taipei from another county or city for the interview, the interviewer asked whether I would return home often. Although I answered that I would prioritize work, it was obvious that he did not believe me. The interview ended hastily, and I received a rejection notice one week later.
It’s a Korean company, so go check it out and learn.
You can pursue opportunities there after graduation.
Working with Koreans—you know what I mean.
There is no infighting among colleagues, and the managers all get along well with the employees—except for the two people at the very top.
To take sick leave, you must first use compensatory leave or annual leave, unless you are seriously ill enough to be hospitalized. If you still want to take sick leave, the boss will be furious.
Overtime cannot be claimed as overtime pay; it can only be exchanged for compensatory leave, otherwise the boss will also be furious.
There are only the three traditional holiday bonuses; there is nothing else.
It is best to know Korean, or at least English; otherwise, there is little opportunity for promotion.
