Taking leave is easy.
The boss has bipolar disorder, and meetings have no clear focus. They often only say they want to talk to you after work. They like to play both sides. The managers are either people the boss personally favors or relatives, and most of them basically have no experience, so they are unable to lead the people under them well. The company’s processes are extremely disorganized, with no established SOPs. If you are capable, you will be expected to do an excessive amount of work, but you will not receive a raise.
I really can’t think of any.
1. The chairman needs psychological counseling. He may have bipolar disorder and is unable to trust employees, spending all day imagining things.
2. The company conducts business with absolutely no integrity. As a biotech company, it can only be said to have no professional ethics whatsoever; it was even complained about by former employees before.
Pros
None, except that the year-end banquet was an all-you-can-eat buffet at the Regent, which was okay. Other than drawing a bunch of company stockpiled items that I don’t know whether they were unsold inventory, the benefits were all empty promises and grand visions.
The company atmosphere is dull, and the marketing strategy is basically dictated by one person. The employees are divided into small cliques, and newcomers are treated like outsiders as soon as they join. The boss’s son is skilled at playing both sides. On my very first day at work, he actually said that the salary had not been finalized yet?! He said they wanted to renegotiate it, but then cut the salary. After I had been there for a week and completed a large amount of design work, they told me that I was not suited to the company’s pace, that my designs were not innovative, and that I could not cooperate effectively, so they hoped I would leave. Clearly, this was just an excuse because we could not agree on the salary! The boss’s son seems like a two-faced person—pretending to be eager for talent on one hand while scheming behind the scenes on the other. Many key positions in the company are also held by the boss’s relatives. I heard that some people could not even last three days....
I advise job seekers not to waste their time going there.
The disadvantages outweigh the advantages; there is not much to say.
The chairman spends all day suspecting that his employees are stealing data and giving it to competitors, and constantly suspects that his employees will set him up. As soon as he feels an employee poses a threat to him, he immediately fires them. He then spends all day in meetings that go nowhere, and every now and then talks during meetings about how former employees supposedly harmed him. An extremely paranoid boss.
