Pros

1. The interview process was very good—it was conducted by a senior manager!

2. The company places great emphasis on training, which is excellent.

3. The benefits are okay! Better than some companies.

Although I have already left the company, I still feel that these aspects were very directly encouraging.

Cons

1. The store manager at the branch where I previously worked did not have very good emotional control and often had a sour expression (including toward customers). The manager also treated customers very differently depending on who they were, and showed serious favoritism toward certain store employees! As a result, the turnover rate was very high.

2. The leave-scheduling policy was not very employee-friendly! Each month, employees could only state two dates they wanted to take off; all other days were scheduled by the store manager. Yet the manager showed strong favoritism, scheduling their own leave very conveniently and arranging to work the same shifts as colleagues they wanted to work with!

3. The salary was not very good. Since the work was physically demanding, it was somewhat better compared with the general retail industry. However, people who are not physically fit should not apply!

I interviewed for a design position and went through three interviews, from a supervisor all the way to the HR manager. They made it seem as though I was practically guaranteed to get the job, but the HR manager’s questions were quite rude and very direct. This company is extremely calculating: they kept asking me to design the outer packaging and promotional materials for their Cotton Field health foods... I had so many pieces in my portfolio, yet they still pressured me into designing, using both soft and hard tactics.

They made me feel verbally that there was a 99% chance they would hire me, which is why I agreed to design the packaging and promotional materials. After I submitted them, I heard nothing for one or two weeks??????

In the end, I had to call and ask myself. Their junior HR staff member told me that the position had later been put on hold and they had decided not to hire anyone after all. This is truly an awful company. As expected, it is a company related to Han XX; the HR department has very little credibility. I advise everyone not to apply. They also make one person do the work of several.

Pros

There aren't really any advantages. The salary, benefits, and leave aren't particularly better than those offered by other similar companies.

Cons

When assigning employees to stores, the company does not consider the convenience of their commutes. Even if a nearby store has the same vacancy, they may transfer you to a location that requires a one-hour commute.

As for working at the stores, there is a small late-shift allowance for the time between the scheduled end of the shift and actually closing and leaving the store. However, the store manager may make you work an additional one or two hours beyond your original end time before you can leave, and may also require you to arrive half an hour early, sit quietly in the store, prepare yourself mentally for work, and so on. The working hours increase without limit, making an ordinary store clerk’s job resemble a position with an all-inclusive responsibility system. You may also be required to return to the company during your days off to count the inventory of the display area you are responsible for. If items in that area are damaged or nearing expiration, you must find a way to sell them yourself; otherwise, the store manager may pressure you to buy them yourself. Although you can refuse, you may still face psychological pressure.

Regarding work at the stores, the manager will usually be scheduled alongside regular employees. They generally work together at night or during busy periods, so the staffing arrangements may appear normal. In practice, however, there is a good chance that the store manager will not do their job. The manager may leave during working hours to buy coffee, sit in the store discussing their own insurance business with an insurance agent, or spend the entire day watching the surveillance cameras to study what other employees are doing. Even when the manager is the only person on duty, they may fail to perform the tasks required during that period, allowing work to pile up and then pushing everything onto the employees when the next shift arrives. When a store earns a performance bonus, the head office gives the bonus directly to the store manager for distribution, allowing the manager to arbitrarily withhold the shares of employees they are dissatisfied with.

In addition, the store manager may do everything possible to make things difficult for the employees who stayed, then drive a wedge between them and new employees. Once the new employees discover that the company is not very good, the manager may tell the head office or other customers that the old employees corrupted the new ones. Even when groups of employees resign en masse one after another, the head office may fail to notice the problem. Employees are also constantly urged to avoid wasting food and to buy products from the store that are nearing expiration, sometimes with only one or two months left before their expiry dates. After working here for a year, you could end up with a large quantity of expired products at home. These issues are difficult for regular employees to report, and even if they do, the head office may ignore them. If there is a real problem, they can simply blame it on the store manager’s personal behavior. Anyone considering joining should think carefully about whether they can find a normally operated store and whether they are willing to commit so fully to “cherishing resources.”

The HR attitude was okay.

I interviewed for an e-commerce position, but the department manager seemed to have very little experience with e-commerce. It also felt like they had not reviewed my résumé beforehand. I brought my own portfolio, but they only flipped through it casually, which felt very disrespectful. During the interview, I asked about the department’s cross-functional collaboration, and was told that everything has its difficulties and I should find a way to overcome them myself—otherwise, why hire people?! Their e-commerce knowledge was very superficial, so there was no way to have an in-depth discussion; it felt like they did not really understand it either. It felt as though they were simply looking for cheap, highly exploitable disposable labor. There was also no advertising budget, they competed with the physical stores for customers, and products could not be promoted, so how were we supposed to generate sales? ^_^

I advise against wasting your time interviewing. It feels like a terrible position; anyone with an e-commerce background will know exactly what I mean after talking with them.

Pros

The early shift ends early.

It seems to be well-organized.

The office is very conveniently located right by a metro exit.

The office building is nice.

Cons

During the interview, I thought there would be plenty of opportunities for development, as someone gave me an introduction to the company (Crown Bioscience) and its subsidiaries.

Next, I was asked to fill out the company’s standard forms, including my national ID number. Yes, they completely ignored the Personal Data Protection Act.

After I finished filling them out, I waited for the interview. The position was just a small retail associate role, yet I had to go through three rounds. Yes, I interviewed with three people separately, so I had to repeat everything three times. They also said the store manager would later decide whether they liked me. If so, why didn’t the store manager conduct the interview in the first place?

I thought the job would simply involve working in the store and making sandwiches, but later they said I would also have to prepare meals, provide support, and move heavy items—in short, handle everything. The salary was completely different from what was posted on the employment website. Even with all the allowances added, it was less than NT$27,000—a ridiculously low salary. With the stock price having risen so much recently, this salary really does the company’s brand a disservice.

Pros

Two massages per month

The snack cabinet is genuinely great

Cons

The planning between the e-commerce department and the physical retail side is very poor.

There is absolutely no communication, and they compete with each other for customers. The e-commerce supervisor does not have an e-commerce background.

I strongly advise against joining the e-commerce department. The other departments seem pretty good so far.

After the founder of this company returned from India, where she went to seek guidance, she frequently forced employees to go to her bed-and-breakfast in Yilan, <xx's home>, for training. During this time, employees were pressured to worship an Indian religion and forced to share their reflections on the two-day, one-night training. If someone answered that they had no opinion or did not want to answer, the founder's expression would immediately become very unpleasant. Working here is truly physically and mentally exhausting, and employees are also forced to adopt a religion. Think twice before going for an interview. Fortunately, I have already resigned!

The agency’s HR called several times to change the interview time.

They started firing off questions over the phone before the interview had even begun.

Not very professional, and the attitude was not very good.

They arbitrarily changed the interview time themselves.

There was no email or system notification—just repeated calls.

They did not wait for the interviewee’s response at all.

They did not consider that the other person might genuinely be unable to answer and might return the call later, and directly reported the interviewee without showing any flexibility.

The experience was very unpleasant.

It did not feel mutual at all.

Regarding this interview invitation,

I am extremely disappointed with the way this was handled.

This company’s HR procedures need improvement.
