Read the community guidelinesThe company is stable, the boss is professional, and the salary is acceptable.
If you have professional expertise, go look for another job—unless you’re somewhat older..
Insufficient management experience, high employee turnover
The office management’s abilities...., professional abilities..., emotional control... time is spent watching and putting on performances
The doctors at the Yonghe branch are all quite nice. As expected, their higher education, broad knowledge, and good character set them apart from ordinary staff.
The manager at the Yonghe branch seems to pick on everyone they see, and has a very bad attitude. Even the front-desk staff think they are superior, often with a group of more senior employees lounging at the front desk or in the break room, while believing that new hires are slacking off, not learning, and not doing their jobs. If you want to stay, you have to be sufficiently servile.
The pay is relatively good compared with outside clinics, and the benefits are so-so.
There is absolutely no system in place. Whether it’s new employee training, internal grievances, labor-management negotiations, or anything else, whatever the supervisor says is the “system.”
Then, when something happens, the supervisor first shifts the blame.
The supervisor doesn’t act like a supervisor. They receive a supervisor’s allowance but have little ability—in plain terms, they’re just the upper management’s little eunuch.
There are already very few colleagues, yet they can still form cliques.
There is even someone acting as an unofficial team leader, brainwashing the incompetent supervisor and influencing whether new employees stay or leave.
Don’t expect the doctors to step in and help with management, because as long as there’s no problem with the surgery, everything else is none of their damn business.
Capable people should absolutely not come here; workplace relationships will wear down your passion.
People who love sucking up and are easily influenced are welcome to join. Ideally, you should be somewhat materialistic too—that way you can fit in here perfectly 👍
Salary and vacation are standard, and the boss is very friendly.
There is only a complaint channel through supervisors; there are no other channels for reporting problems. Many supervisors have connections through favoritism, and the boss trusts the supervisors a great deal, making this a relatively closed and conservative company.
They micromanage minor matters but handle major matters carelessly. Problems are blamed on employees. Supervisors are more like people who question employees on the boss’s behalf than heads of their respective units, and employees basically have no say.
The boss seems very open-minded, but the supervisors are not very receptive to employees having too many ideas.
There are many cliques, with a clear hierarchy. People appear cordial on the surface but frequently attack and criticize one another behind the scenes. There are many complaints and grievances, and supervisors often criticize the boss as well.
Power is often used to favor insiders and exclude those who are not part of the in-group. There is very little support for execution, and execution-focused work is looked down upon. People spend more time competing for positions of authority, treating telling others what to do as management. The middle-aged supervisors have outdated and immature ideas and are unlikely to be replaced.
Employee turnover is high, the environment is unstable, and there is no sense of security.
The salary is decent.
The company’s benefits and compensation seem attractive, but after actually joining, I found that the reality was completely different. They don’t respect professionalism and only engage in factional infighting. Long-time employees bully newcomers; things appear harmonious on the surface, but are actually very different.
When I first joined the company, no one guided me and there was no training at all; I had to ask about everything myself.
Everyone is busy with their own work, and people don't know what others are working on. Those who value teamwork may not be suited to this place.
There are more managers than employees. Company rules apply only to employees, while managers don't have to follow them. The double standards between ranks are very apparent.
Here, getting along with people is more important than getting work done, age is more important than experience, and appearances matter more than substance.
The Legend of Zhen Huan in the Harem—the office is so quiet it feels like a morgue, and every kind of oddball can be found here... If you want to experience the most boring, least promising job in history, where appeasing all kinds of personnel issues matters more than your professional expertise, you might consider taking a look.
(The company does provide everything it should; it’s just far less than what you’ll have to put up with here.)
