Read the community guidelinesUnless there are major issues, working hours are punctual, and labor laws are observed.
The benefits are better than some, though not as good as the best.
The salary is not competitive, and you should not expect much from the year-end bonus. Engineers are required to clock in and out; if you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you need to take half an hour of leave.
The R&D department often needs to work overtime to help when problems occur on the production line. Although it is an R&D department, there are a great many administrative tasks and miscellaneous matters. The project initiation process is unclear, and there is no SOP. Without senior colleagues, you have to figure everything out on your own. The turnover rate is so high that the problems never get fully resolved.

1. In addition to clocking in at work, you will also be called by name. Sometimes people are called by name every day in the LINE group, or called by name on-site and sent emails, making it feel like being in the military—extremely brain-dead. Many of the managers are idiots.
2. The actual job content does not match what was described. You are often sent to other departments to do odd jobs, all of which involve physical labor, so the turnover rate for production-line-related positions is very high.
3. There is no bonus for meeting production targets. If production falls short, they only tell you to work overtime, then more overtime, and call in various departments to provide support.
4. You frequently handle chemicals and organic solvents, yet there is no relevant protective equipment. Some of the chemicals smell extremely foul and pungent. Occupational safety is not taken seriously here.
5. The catered meals are extremely unappetizing. During the Lunar New Year, we even received bento boxes that had gone sour. Military food was honestly much better.
6. The start-of-work bonus is only NT$10, with the names of senior officials written on top as congratulations. It is worse than the toilet-paper giveaways distributed during elections. The NT$600 red envelope on the first day of the Lunar New Year is hardly worth issuing.
7. The salary is very low and does not really match what is stated online. The base salary is set very low, so make sure to ask about the salary structure clearly.
8. There is no automation, and the production line lacks all sorts of things. There are not even enough hand carts, and the warehouse goods-flow layout and other designs are incorrect.
If the interview is switched to online due to the pandemic, they notify you in advance.
The annual salary is guaranteed for 14 months.
The online interview did not turn on the video. If it was because the desktop computer had no camera or due to information security concerns, it would have been understandable if they had explained the reason, but there was not even an explanation, which felt very unpleasant.
Apart from the guaranteed annual salary, the other benefits were not particularly distinctive.

Punctual working hours.
Passes the buck when problems arise. Non-full-time employees, think twice.
The HR lady was polite
The building is fairly new
Shift workers have to pass the internal TOEIC test to get an interview opportunity
A good place to practice collaborating with foreign clients; since 2018, the annual salary has been guaranteed at 1.4 million.
Not much in the way of bonuses
The R&D team is pretty lousy
They only know how to hire highly paid senior managers to talk big, while the employees underneath remain just as lousy
Unless there are significant issues, working hours are on schedule, and the Labor Standards Act is observed.
Few benefits (the general standard in the tech industry is 14 months of pay, while E Ink only offers 13 months), and the salary is not competitive. Don’t expect much from year-end bonuses or profit sharing (unless the company performs exceptionally well, it is usually less than 0.5 months’ pay). Clocking in and out is required; arriving at the company more than 15 minutes late requires taking half an hour of leave.
The work atmosphere depends on the department and supervisor. There are a great many miscellaneous tasks in the R&D units.
