Pros

None at all

Cons

An employee surnamed Chuang bypasses the chain of command to report to higher levels and is even smug about it, completely unaware of how foolish they are. They also speak incoherently. Despite being quite old, they have gained only age and not maturity—there are serious problems. The shift leader surnamed Tseng is no better. Besides spouting fallacious reasoning all day, they also help employees surnamed Chuang and Chiu who have problems evade accountability. The supervisor even says they want to protect them; it is truly suspicious—only they know what they have done! That whole group in the chemical engineering department does absolutely no work, wearing out those who remain and still care about their jobs. They are also completely controlled by the supervisor—a classic case of bullying the weak and fearing the strong!

None

Cons

If you’re in the wrong department, nobody cares about you, and you also have to endure verbal bullying from senior employees. When you can’t take it anymore and talk back, you’re told that you have poor emotional management. Going to your supervisor only gets you “mm-hmm, okay, okay, don’t overthink it.” I’m still employed here, but I no longer want to stay with the company. Oh, and one more thing! The working hours at this company are really long, but the pay is extremely low! What can you expect from a company that’s not even as good as a stepping stone?

Pros

No advantages whatsoever

Cons

Although this was a staffing agency placement, did the interviewer at the group interview find the wrong person? Their attitude was unbelievably arrogant, and the company had a bunch of unequal terms and conditions:

Examples:

1. A NT$30,000 fine for harming the company’s image (what the hell, it’s not like I made that much money for you??)

2. Dismissal for smoking outside the designated areas (although I don’t have a smoking habit)

3. If you work for less than seven days, it is treated as volunteer work and no wages are paid

4. The compensation advertised by Wan X 人力仲介 was:

Day shift: 43,000+

Night shift: 51,000+

When I got to the site and saw the salary structure, I was almost furious.

Day shift: Night shift:

Base salary: 19,000 19,000

Allowance: 2,400 2,400

Performance: 1,000 1,000

Night shift bonus: 3,000 8,000

Overtime: 5,480 6,500

5. It takes 3–5 minutes to walk to the restaurant for meals. I don’t know whether this varies by department, but lunch breaks are only 30 minutes and dinner breaks only 35 minutes (11 hours of actual work, f***).

Pros

1. Dormitory for 500, including water and electricity—cheap.

2. The company provides three meals a day. Each meal includes one main dish and three side dishes and costs only 20. Rice and sweet or savory soup are unlimited...

(However, the main dish is about half the size of a typical takeout portion.)

3. Convenient motorcycle parking...

4. If you want to work overtime, there is no shortage of overtime... You can even have only four days off a month, but

(the base salary is only 19,000. No matter how much overtime you work, your overtime pay... comes out to very little!!!!

Cons

1. The company culture is strange. The ratio of foreign workers is high, approximately 6:4. Many do not follow the rules. They understand a little Chinese, but most chat in Filipino.

2. Flip-flops and socks are the basic outfit for 90% of the people at this company.... (even outside the company)

3. If you are a dispatched worker, your shift is 12 hours, but you have two hours of break time. You must remain at the company and cannot go out. The actual overtime is only 2 hours plus the 8-hour basic workday... and they will even make you wait five extra minutes before letting you clock out.

4. Promotions are unclear, wages are unclear, and the possibility of a raise is extremely low.

Advancement is not based on familiarity with the job or exams, but on seniority and connections.

Pros

You can get by.

Cons

It's a place that's not even worth using as a stepping stone. You can't learn much of anything professional; all day, people think about how to placate those above them and how to shift the blame to others, and hardly anyone works seriously. Turnover is high, the company is extremely stingy, and it offers the worst value for money in biotech. It seems like you might learn a thing or two, but what you put in and what you earn are completely disproportionate. In manufacturing, you have to do all kinds of odd jobs, and you're constantly being pushed around by others; all the other cushy positions have already been taken.
