Pros

Bonuses are paid three times a year, with opportunities to receive them at any time

The year-end bonus sounds quite high

No unpaid leave

Salary is adjusted every year

Cons

Bonuses may be deducted

The three-year-end bonuses can be drastically reduced because of poor performance

To put it bluntly, if you receive NT$500 or NT$1,000,

don’t be surprised

It’s all based on subjective impressions anyway

During the interview process,

I heard HR and the department manager say,

“Let’s get people in first and worry about the rest later.”

At least having a record of someone coming in for an interview would be enough.

So... was I tricked into joining??

Annual salary adjustments

Asked what the minimum increase was??

A senior employee there said

that it had come up at the original salary briefing.

At the time,

they only said that salaries would be increased for good performance.

If you insist on knowing the minimum,

it’s simply NT$0.

Pros

Didn't want to know.

Cons

During the interview, they still hadn't received the résumé that had been sent, but that would have been fine; what was worse was that I waited nearly an hour before someone came to interview me. The interview questions were completely unrelated. After I finished answering and handed them in, they didn't explain what the questions were for. They also didn't introduce the department's organization or the company's goals before switching to HR. HR, however, thought that Procurement should give the questions first, while Procurement thought the salary offered was too high. HR, however, said that the salary wasn't decided by Procurement. Both sides thought the other had finished the interview before switching over. I still had to ask HR to find out Procurement-related information, making HR seem more like Procurement.

Cons

This company proactively sent me an interview invitation through a recruitment website. I had first reviewed their interview requirements and replied that my language qualifications did not meet the standard.

I asked them to confirm whether I was still eligible for an interview. Human Resources later replied that they would notify me after having the supervisor evaluate my qualifications.

They subsequently said that the supervisor’s evaluation was OK and still asked me to attend the interview. However, on the day of the interview, they first said that they had not received the company personnel information I had emailed.

Later, the interview was not conducted in a meeting room either; it was held directly at a small table in a corner.

After reviewing my résumé, the interviewing supervisor criticized me for lacking relevant purchasing experience and for having insufficient language ability... My salary expectation of 28K was also criticized.

The interview ended after a very perfunctory exchange. I was truly dumbfounded... Wasn’t I asked to come for an interview only after the supervisor had evaluated my qualifications?

Overall, I felt extremely disrespected...

Pros

None....

Cons

The on-site work environment at this company is extremely dangerous and dirty. The company’s corporate culture is very unfriendly toward new employees. During their first three months, newcomers are treated worse than dogs. The company is afraid people might not know that you are new, so it requires newcomers to wear reflective vests, claiming that it is for your safety and therefore mandatory. But why is it that after three months you no longer have to wear one? Does that mean the dangerous work environment is no longer dangerous after three months?

This company is thoroughly bureaucratic from top to bottom. Even ordinary employees adopt an “I’m the boss” attitude toward newcomers, not to mention the senior managers. At this company, people with connections and influential backgrounds receive all the advantages, while those without connections have no say at all and receive no respect. Inside this company, the truth is that the higher your position, the greater your authority; respect for professional expertise is treated as worthless. The human resources website lists a whole range of benefits, but in reality the company is extremely stingy. Seeing the benefits listed and actually being able to enjoy them are two different things. The senior managers are highly emotional. When they dislike an employee, they use various pretexts to make unreasonable demands. If you cannot cooperate or are unable to meet them, they use that as a pretext to pressure you to resign and may even improperly deduct from your salary. In short, anyone considering joining this company should think very carefully.....
