Pros

Colleagues get along well with one another.

Cons

The boss smokes in the office all the time, whether during regular work hours or meetings, so the company is constantly filled with secondhand smoke. The boss thinks this is perfectly normal. When I resigned, I said that I couldn’t stay because of the smoke hazard—I could barely stand how it irritated my eyes and throat every day—but the boss blamed me, asking why I hadn’t made it clear during the interview. Damn it, as if I could have imagined that there are still companies with standards this low, where the boss smokes indoors. If they had told me beforehand or written on 104 that the boss smokes inside the office, there’s no way I would have gone to the interview.

Pros

It was just a standard interview, so I couldn't identify any particular advantages to share.

Cons

For the first video interview, I was asked to use the LINE app, which gave me the impression that the company's understanding of internal software has not yet been fully established.

The interview involved a male manager, a human resources representative, and me in a three-way meeting. The discussion revolved around questions related to the applicant's age and gender, while the accompanying HR representative did not help stop the related employment discrimination.

Pros

There are still some good colleagues, but not all of them.

Cons

1. The position advertised on the job bank is for an assistant to a manager, but the actual job duties do not completely match those listed on the job bank.

2. If the contact person is Mr. ㄒ, think carefully. This manager's mood is unpredictable, and if they take a dislike to you, they will speak ill of you behind your back.

3. Smoking is permitted in the company's meeting rooms, so if you strongly dislike secondhand smoke, please think carefully as well.

4. You have to work overtime every day, and you can only leave after gauging your manager's mood.

Pros

None

Cons

I interviewed for the overseas sales position at the company’s Dajia plant in Taichung. The manager was caustic and harsh, repeatedly saying, “The company supports you, so what gives you the right to ask for this salary?” Clearly, he treats employees like dogs he feeds. An interview is a negotiation of an exchange of value; if an agreement can’t be reached, so be it—but there was no need to belittle and question everything I said. On top of that, the pay is very low: they require fluency in English, independent overseas exhibitions, and customer visits, yet only offer around NT$30,000 for the position. To quote him: “Does the company support you?” Damn! Am I a dog?
