Pros

1. Stable paycheck

2. As a Japanese company, there is little fear of being laid off

3. Overtime is paid

If you want to work in the thermal management industry, I recommend Auras, Cooler Master, C.C.P. Technology, or Jentech. Any one of them is better than this company (in terms of salary, benefits, internal atmosphere, and work environment).

Cons

1. There are many high-ranking executives (assistant managers, managers, senior managers, associate vice presidents, and vice presidents). Most of them push things off whenever possible, avoid doing work whenever possible, assign miscellaneous tasks to subordinates, and ignore important decisions, leaving subordinates to decide (the less they do, the fewer mistakes they make). They just sit around all day waiting to collect their paychecks.

2. Some supervisors have no idea how to lead people. Don’t expect anyone to train or guide you after you join. If someone does, consider yourself lucky; if not, run as fast as you can. (It was a family business before being acquired by a Japanese company. Some of the clients employees are responsible for have changed, the organization has undergone changes, and the rules are frequently revised.)

3. There are very few motorcycle parking spaces. Those who drive have to park in a more distant parking lot, and illegally parked vehicles nearby will be ticketed (the fire department is next door).

4. All reimbursement claims and expense reports have to go through procedures. The internal processes are cumbersome, and a lot of time is wasted on paperwork.

5. You have to submit a written request for overtime pay (provided that the request gets approved in the first place—some executives make excuses to prevent you from submitting one, even when you need to travel for legitimate work).

6. No matter what you do, you have to submit a written request (business trips do not come with any additional travel allowance either; only meal and accommodation expenses are covered).

7. The office building is old, and cigarette smoke from the top floor sometimes drifts down to the lower floors.

8. They hire many temporary workers, and when production stops, they are all laid off. The company does not consider the temporary employees at all, treating them like garbage—using them and throwing them away.

9. Salaries are very low (just check 104: R&D positions are still only above NT$38,000, while other openings are above NT$33,000). A bunch of perennial vacancies remain open with no applicants—most have only 0–5 applicants. Given the state of this family-run company, it is not surprising. They do not even provide a 14th-month bonus.

10. HR’s professionalism needs improvement. They frequently answer B when asked A, avoid answering some questions, and do not even dare disclose the salary (because they offer very low pay). They are afraid applicants will find it laughable and leave early.

11. At the year-end party, they raffle off PayEasy points, and there is not even a NT$100,000 grand prize (only phones).

12. Take a look at the Google reviews—they are very entertaining.

13. According to employees in the sales department, the budget for treating each client is only NT$120 per person, and you have to submit a written request even to take a client out to eat. Each department has only two company cars.

14. Employees have to take turns cleaning and recite slogans in the morning.

15. Japanese supervisors privately look down on Taiwanese employees. There are some internal divisions, though many employees probably do not know about them on the surface.

16. Bureaucratic, highly regimented, and rife with office politics (many people attack new employees behind their backs. People leave every month, and the replacements are not enough to fill the vacancies).

17. Every department is understaffed, and some departments have an alarmingly heavy workload.

18. The company incurred losses on automotive projects, so the year-end bonus will probably be reduced as well.

Pros

The Japanese manager is very nice.

Cons

Some veteran employees also abuse their authority and recklessly berate people without getting the facts straight, which is really unacceptable. Those who have nothing to do remain idle and only talk, while those who can get things done work tirelessly without anyone realizing that they need help. During this period, vacancies are not being filled; those who are good at avoiding work still manage to avoid it, and the same few people are still the ones doing the work. Once you finish it, no one will appreciate you.

The SOP seems to have been written just for appearances. How can something that differs from the SOP be carried out without even being reviewed and approved by a supervisor?

Pros

Your company is awesome~~

Cons

The HR professionalism is really poor. When asked about the salary range, they said they didn't know; when asked about the hiring needs, they said they didn't know either. So why have HR conduct the interview? Do you only know how to put on a bullying, presumptuous attitude? You've only been with the company for a short time—please don't be so eager to rack up interview numbers. How about sincerely inviting people and taking your work seriously? This performance is really making people look down on you.

Pros

1. The interviewing manager was candid and answered every question. To avoid wasting time, they provided a thorough explanation of the job responsibilities.

2. The written test focused more on understanding how you personally approach and handle tasks; it was not intended to stump you.

3. The manager seemed very supportive of their subordinates, but because there are many departments, the situation in other departments was unclear.

4. Employees leave and arrive on time. Overtime is not encouraged, but overtime pay is provided when overtime is worked.

5. The positive way to put it is that there are established procedures; the negative way to put it is that there is no freedom.

Cons

1. You have to make two trips for the second-round interview.

2. Employees are also expected to perform cleaning duties.

3. It is even more Japanese-style than what most people associate with Japanese companies. It could be described as: Japanese company = Taiwanese managers; employees = managed in a Vietnamese/Chinese style, basically...

Pros

It feels like things have started to become more systematized after being acquired by a Japanese company...

Cons

An unbelievably outrageous interview experience.... The manager who invited me to the interview disappeared at the scheduled time, and no one in the entire company could find them. The company receptionist even asked whether I had their personal mobile number..... After waiting for an hour, the manager finally appeared and asked, “Did you bring your own résumé?”..... The company overview given by the manager consisted entirely of complaints about the Japanese system, such as having to wear uniforms, etc...

The HR interviewer had an extremely arrogant attitude, and the questions they asked were just as clueless as the manager’s...

Overall, the interview experience was very poor. If I had been given more information beforehand, I definitely would not have wasted my time going to this company.
