Pros

There aren't really any advantages.

Cons

I heard it will be changed back to Unimicron Technology on 7/1!

This review can't sink.

Everyone needs to know!

Those who are thinking of coming, think twice. I really don't recommend it.

Not long after starting the night shift, I was assigned to support the final inspection report. Whether people were willing to teach or not, the report area was full of chatting and laughter. Unexpectedly, the shift leader also came over and pretended to help... but then fell asleep on the spot... I just quietly watched him sleep through an entire hour of work....

The company's management system has some very serious problems....

Can someone at the level of shift leader really set an example by sleeping at work?

The senior management above pretends not to see anything.

If you want to take a vacation and be treated like a young master or young lady, you can come here.

Pros

The treatment for operators is better than for engineers, and there are more opportunities for promotion. The benefits cannot compare with those in the tech industry, and in Hsinchu, engineers’ compensation is at the lower end of traditional industries.

Cons

In 2021, there was news of mass layoffs, yet before even a quarter had passed, the company started hiring again.

Every small manager acts like a VIP. When they throw a problem directly at you, they expect it to be resolved immediately, without considering the division of responsibilities or the root cause. They never reflect on how their own actions led to the problem. The entire company is rife with a culture of shifting blame; even units that are not responsible may be dragged in by senior managers to clean up another unit’s mess.

Pros

The air conditioning is as cold as the Arctic.

Maybe they’re afraid the employees’ tempers will get so hot that they’ll burn down the company.

Cons

1. The higher-ranking the supervisor, the more they carry a little pocket dictionary of profanity, and the lower their emotional intelligence; there’s swearing every day.

2. The company’s employee stock ownership program is basically a scam.

3. They’re always emotionally blackmailing employees over their willingness to cooperate.

4. The meals… I’d rather eat instant noodles every day.

5. You pay the parking fee, but there might not be a space—and the company might even ticket you.

6. The environment… is terrible.

7. Training… there is none at all.

8. Severance pay… don’t even think about it.

When the company is doing poorly, they pressure employees to resign voluntarily.

9. It’s a responsibility-based system, but the level of control is like dealing with elementary school students.

10. Raises come very slowly, pay cuts happen without warning, and three years of raises aren’t enough to make up for one pay cut.

11. There are far too many negative employees; going to work feels like entering prison.

12. There are also many self-important senior employees, but the supervisors turn a blind eye.

Overall, it’s unbelievably awful.

Pros

In the cleanroom, there are all kinds of colleagues. Whoever speaks the loudest wins, but everyone usually helps each other earn a living through hard work.

Cons

During the 2018 Lunar New Year holiday, attendance in the Flexible Printed Circuit Board Department followed a four-days-on, two-days-off rotating shift schedule. The team leader announced that personal and sick leave would not be accepted during the Lunar New Year period. Anyone who failed to show up on a scheduled shift would be considered absent without leave, and previously approved leave would also have to be canceled. A few days later, the team leader announced that during the Lunar New Year period, only annual leave would be accepted; no other type of leave would be accepted, and anyone who did not show up would likewise be considered absent without leave.

On 2/13, the team leader announced that the factory would be closed on 2/15, Lunar New Year's Eve, and that everyone had to take leave. Employees without annual leave had to apply for personal leave.

From 2/16 to 2/20, some employees called the company to request leave from the team leader, but the team leader completely refused all leave requests.

The company's requirement that leave not be accepted during the Lunar New Year period may violate Article 37, Paragraph 1; Article 38, Paragraph 2; and Article 43 of the Labor Standards Act.

Pros

None, there are absolutely no advantages\

Cons

Poor workflow

The people there are also very full of themselves

They don't properly teach you, and when you ask a question, they say, "How do you not know this?" If they didn't teach you, how are you supposed to know?

They basically force you to work overtime, and if you don't, they'll say, "Your performance isn't my xoxo."

Everything they say is very hurtful

They keep pressuring us to increase output even though we're understaffed

I had arranged to meet with HR at 13:30, but HR did not show up until 14:30. When they arrived, they first said they had been busy interviewing production workers, which was why they were late. (Confused—then why did you schedule the interview with me for that day?)

Then they spent time having me take tests and complete exercises, followed by an interview with HR. After that, I waited until 5:00 p.m. but never got to interview with the interviewer.

Another HR representative came out and explained to me: “Because our interviewer is still busy interviewing production workers, I will submit your application for review later and notify you of the result after some time.”

The interview environment was terrible. It was in a small bungalow next to the factory, with neither air conditioning nor a fan. The weather was hot that day, but they put the interviewees in a small room, closed the door, and had us wait there foolishly.

Pros

?????

Cons

Had to wait a long time for the interview; it seemed like there was only one HR staff member.

The factory site looked very run-down; some traditional industries are even more upscale than them....

It didn’t feel like a tech company at all—it felt like a traditional industry.

Overtime, overtime, overtime, overtime—the supervisor asked right away whether I could accept working overtime.

The supervisor said the dormitory was terrible.

Pros… heh

Cons

The first three months are through a staffing agency; you work yourself to death for very little money. Labor and health insurance are based on the minimum wage. The HR interview consisted of only two sentences and lasted one minute, while I waited six hours—an entire afternoon—for the interview. A waste of time.

This company is a branch renamed from the original Unimicron. The environment is somewhat poor, and the plant is in terrible condition. The cleanroom is cleaned with a broom, SOPs are considered unnecessary, and there are some very strange internal rules. Supervisors and veteran employees will tell you that parameters come from experience, but when an audit comes around, if the values do not comply with the SOP, the company will issue a disciplinary demerit.
