Pros

1. Year-end bonus

The company gives a pretty good year-end bonus.

When I was still working there, it was almost always more than six months’ salary.

They would also set up an overseas account so you wouldn’t have to have taxes deducted.

2. Meal and welfare benefits

The company allocates a certain amount of welfare funds every month.

Different departments take turns serving on the welfare committee each month.

They can decide to order snacks, drinks, and so on for all colleagues every day or every two or three days.

If the welfare funds accumulate to a substantial amount after a while, the company will organize a group dinner.

3. No sales performance pressure

There is no sales performance pressure for sales staff at this company,

because it is a long-established manufacturer of mobile phone accessories (chargers, transmission cables, and so on).

It is also an Apple-certified manufacturer legally permitted to produce licensed third-party products,

so it has a large base of customers in Europe and the United States placing orders

(such as Walmart, Verizon, and so on).

The boss even hopes that no new business will be brought in,

because the production lines are almost always at full capacity....

Cons

1. Excessively long working hours

The working hours at this company are not just a little long—they are extraordinarily long.

For the vast majority of people, it is extremely difficult to leave work before 11 p.m.

Working until one or two in the morning is considered normal.

2. Insufficient staffing

The excessive working hours are caused by insufficient staffing.

However, the company would rather not hire more people.

There are basically two types of employees at the company:

one type is very inexperienced, and the other is very senior.

There is almost no middle ground.

3. Extremely miscellaneous duties

The Taiwan headquarters has only three departments:

sales, accounting, and R&D.

There are only about 30 employees in total.

Most employees are at the factories in mainland China.

Because of the insufficient staffing allocation,

the work is often extremely disorganized,

and it is unclear who should be responsible for what.

It really does not seem like a company with annual revenue of more than NT$2 billion....

4. No opportunities for promotion

This is a family-owned business.

The boss owns 100% of the shares,

so each department has one manager position.

Don’t worry—they are all the boss’s people.

Don’t even dream of climbing the ladder.

In summary, although the year-end bonus is quite good, the working hours are already twice as long as everyone else’s, so shouldn’t you be paid twice as much? Besides, no matter how high the year-end bonus is, if you cannot hold out until year-end, it makes no difference to the boss. The boss makes decisions based heavily on personal feelings. If he is in a good mood, he can give someone a 30% raise, while everyone else who works themselves to the bone can only envy that person, as if they deserve nothing better. The salary is also terrible—the starting salary for sales staff seems to be only around NT$36,000. Decide for yourself whether it is worth trading your health for this meager salary. In the past, an employee at the company reportedly developed a brain tumor after working overtime for a long time..... They quit immediately after seeing it and ran for the hills—absolutely outrageous.....

None

Cons

1. Office staff will come onto the production line and shout loudly, acting superior because of their seniority. The new HR staff are the same!

2. The boss also shouts loudly and is very fierce, treating employees like dogs! The office staff probably imitate this behavior!

3. Purchasing staff can come onto the production line and boss people around, also shouting loudly and displaying extremely poor manners.

4. Compensation is unfair. I think production-line team leaders should probably earn more than sales staff, right? The average is 47,000, and I heard someone earns 50,000 simply because the boss and the boss’s wife like this person.

5. The promotion system is problematic. The company does not consider employees’ education, experience, work performance, or abilities when promoting them. As long as the boss likes you, anyone—even a nobody—can be promoted to manage others!

6. The quality-assurance person they hired spends all day out shopping, yet they pay this person a monthly salary of 35,000, and quality has not improved much either.

7. This company keeps producing defective products and only cares about output.

8. Mainland Chinese managers and other Taiwanese managers fire people at the drop of a hat. Serious, hardworking employees get fired, while those who should be fired are not. The reward-and-punishment system is problematic.

9. Whenever a policy is introduced, there are frequent administrative errors. Nobody knows who is responsible, and everyone runs away from responsibility!

There are a great many shortcomings. The boss may not necessarily listen to suggestions from good employees—probably because they are wealthy and overbearing!

10. When one person gets promoted, all the cats and dogs underneath want to rise to heaven and become officials too.

All I can say is: this is a company with an extremely poor standard.

If any senior official at Kunyuan sees this comment, they will probably fly into a rage out of embarrassment!

A well-cultivated person would make improvements, but I think Kunyuan probably has no such people, hahaha!

And there are lots of busybodies and gossipers… The key point is that the boss and the boss’s wife like them, so they listen to everything those people say!

If you work there, your hard work and dedication will not receive equal compensation. Serious employees who join will be at a disadvantage.

If your specialty is being good at putting on an act and being a gossiping busybody, you will definitely have a share of promotions and wealth.

Cons

Had a phone call in the morning and scheduled an interview for the afternoon. They said the boss would conduct the interview personally and not to be late. Two hours before the interview time, they said they had found a suitable candidate, apologized, and canceled the interview. XD

Pros

None at all

Cons

1. A wealthy and powerful company branched out and established a design firm (Dianxian Design), while also operating the Dulan Weiguang Guesthouse in Taitung. They address interviewees as “Hey, hey, hey.”

2. Throughout the entire interview, they kept rolling their eyes; they spoke unclearly and would occasionally lift their chin, acting arrogantly.

3. Anyone thinking of going should think twice.
