Pros

There was a small yogurt during the interview.

Cons

I still want to write this out 🙃

About a certain “boutique yogurt”

I had clearly applied for the Neihu store.

During the interview, it was confirmed that the entire probationary period would be at a department store.

Only after I started working at the department store did I find out that this was not the case—wherever you applied was where you would intern.

I was added to the Xinyi group.

Afterward, when I asked about it, I was told that Neihu was completely overstaffed. Then why was the position posted?

That day, A4 was extremely busy, and the store manager’s friend even came to look for them.

But I didn’t know what to do, so I just watched how they used that machine to check out at Shin Kong before and randomly operated it.

I sold three orders worth 3,800 each.

Finally, at 9:30, when the department store closed, everyone from their counter had left for some reason.

But after I clocked out, I cleaned there for two hours:

restocking all the ice cream, wiping the freezers, washing spoons, mopping the floor, disinfecting the ice cream scoops, and a whole lot more, as well as taking photos and uploading them as proof of cleaning.

I didn’t get off work until 11. After work, I followed the security guards upstairs.

On the way, three security guards said, “Oh my god, how did you end up at that notoriously troublesome counter? There are so many problems there.

The turnover is extremely high, and they always keep people until the latest. Run while you can.”

Then, on my way home, I asked the supervisor

why I was initially told I would be working at the Neihu store, but ended up at a department-store counter.

But the response I got was them constantly shifting the blame and saying that I had misunderstood.

So I showed them that my application on 104 was for the Neihu store.

They didn’t explain either, only saying that there were too many people at Neihu, and that if I wanted to work at a store, I should go to the Shida one.

The store manager, who knew I had sales results, said, “You should stay until the end of September and see whether I can help transfer you to Neihu...”

The interviewer, supervisor, and store manager all said completely different things.

I honestly think this is ridiculous. If you weren’t short-staffed, why did you invite me to an interview?

I also had to go back and fill in the reason for leaving. I wrote that it was different from what I had been told during the interview and asked them to clarify.

I thought to myself, how much clearer do I need to be?

As soon as I finished writing, they immediately said, “You can leave now.”

The Neihu position is still posted now 😂😂😂 This is seriously absurd.

Pros

A small bottle of yogurt is given at the end of the interview.

Cons

I went to interview for a managerial position, but the interviewing manager looked very inexperienced. She actually took out a cheat sheet on the spot and read the job description aloud to me. I was dumbfounded. After she finished reading, I asked whether this job required one person to take on the work of the entire department. The interviewing manager said there was an assistant. I then asked about it, and learned that the job duties I had just heard were all basic administrative tasks on the execution side. The interviewing manager said the assistant had only been there for a little over six months and was still becoming familiar with the work. Oh!!

I also asked several questions about the company’s current operating methods and future prospects. At that point, the interviewing manager began taking notes and then politely said she would write them down first so the company’s managers could know about them. I was dumbfounded again. Next, the interviewing manager dutifully read out the working hours, lunch break, how many days of annual leave one gets based on years of service, when salaries are paid... After finishing, she thanked me for coming to the interview that day. Me: ???!!!

None of the questions asked by the interviewee were answered. The interviewing manager just finished reading through her own homework and class was dismissed?! Absolutely ridiculous.

The interview only lasted a little over ten minutes, and I could really understand why other netizens said the inside of this company smelled bad. It really was impossible to tell where that strange odor was coming from; in any case, it was very uncomfortable.

Also, the internal seating does not seem to have been properly planned. There were people sitting everywhere, making the overall space feel very cramped, with little personal space. I didn’t get a clear look at whether there was one computer per person. Looking out through the partition glass from the conference room, I was already wondering, even before the interview had started: Do I really want to work here? This company is located in an industrial park. There are roughly 30–40 companies in this building, but the surrounding area consists mostly of office buildings, and the basic amenities (office-related facilities) are extremely, extremely, extremely inadequate. There is only one convenience store downstairs in the building (there seems to be a Tasty Steakhouse somewhere at the edge). The MRT service has been suspended for a year, so you can only rely on bus shuttles. If you drive or ride a scooter, you have to figure out parking on your own (which seems very difficult).

The next day, I received notice of a second interview and politely declined. I couldn’t even stand going there once, yet they wanted me to go for a second interview. Thanks for letting me give up my spot.

The complimentary yogurt was too sweet, so I added twice as much unsweetened yogurt to balance it out.

Pros

80% of the office staff are very young; most only joined last year or this year. There are some older employees, but not many—and they aren’t very professional. Whenever you ask about something and the supervisor doesn’t know the answer, she immediately makes sarcastic remarks, saying that she’s been doing this longer. What?!

Cons

You don’t need to be too professional—seriously, you mustn’t outshine the supervisor’s ignorance, or you may become a target.

The coworkers are too inexperienced. The company only focuses on the immediate future and only provides product training for everyone, without giving any thought to the future. It doesn’t really care about employees’ growth or professional training, and provides no subsidies; if you want to grow, you have to figure it out yourself.

I don’t know how the company manages to avoid government inspections. It has more than 30 stores and over 300 employees, yet its management system is bizarrely authoritarian and depends heavily on personal rule. A senior executive simultaneously serves as the marketing, operations, and administrative manager. The company’s performance is considered good, and it somehow manages to keep employees coming and going constantly. Why not hire dedicated professionals to properly handle specialized work (marketing, operations, HR, etc.)? They can’t even answer questions about taking leave or health insurance. Salary calculations are sometimes wrong and only get corrected after you point them out; when they issue the missing pay, they act as if I’m indebted to them.

The office is cramped and offers no privacy. People can walk past the computers at any time, and there is also a strange smell.

A company with lots of women becomes a gossip circle, and you’re expected to pick sides. It’s emotionally exhausting; as soon as you arrive at work, you just want to leave.

You’re welcome to come sit for the interview—and taking a bottle of yogurt with you when you leave would be fine too.

Pros

1. Does it count if you can't tell that the uniform is dirty?

2. Changing policies constantly. Why is that considered an advantage? Whenever employees are dissatisfied with a rule, they just keep raising the issue (by contacting Deputy General Manager Chou), and the rule gets canceled.

3. The yogurt tastes good, but it's too expensive.

Cons

1. The bonuses are very small—pitifully small. You have to work overtime to earn a little more money.

2. The company does not properly report salaries for labor and health insurance. For example, my salary might be 30,000, but the company reports a little over 20,000 for labor and health insurance (you can check it online—do they think employees are idiots?).

3. The company's accounting is very unprofessional, and salaries are often calculated incorrectly. I asked a question about taking leave and received no response for three days. When I called the company again, they said that person was on leave. As a result, there was no one to ask. Are they afraid to answer me? The company has over 300 employees—is there something wrong with it? Can't they afford to hire a supervisor?

4. The supervisor (Chou~) really likes promoting his own people to store manager. If you happen to get a store manager with very weak abilities, you can only consider yourself unlucky.

5. There is no system. The company's employees are all very new, and the turnover rate is high. But I guess being able to work a little more casually can be considered an advantage.

6. Male employees at the stores are a rare species. The supervisor (Chou~) is one himself, but deliberately does not interview male applicants. Yogurt and frozen products are extremely heavy, and it can also be dangerous when leaving work at night. The company has not thought about any of this.
