Brand recognition, a company for retirement

Cons

The company’s operational direction changes repeatedly within a short period, and employees are also asked to make multiple career adjustments in a short time. For example, the requirements stated during the interview differ from those when actually starting the job. However, these adjustments consistently move in increasingly unconventional directions. Since the top executive has a businessperson’s mindset, contracts can be torn up at any time, and decisions to hire or dismiss personnel can be made arbitrarily. Everything is driven by cost above all else, and the company has a poor reputation. Disputes between successful applicants and the company have repeatedly been seen online. Internal factions fight among themselves, but everyone has been colleagues for more than a decade. They deliberately undermine one another while maintaining an unspoken understanding not to address it openly.

The benefits package is pretty good

Cons

The sourcing team in a certain internal brand department is absolutely terrifying.

Relying on her long tenure at the company,

she routinely bullies and loudly berates young new colleagues three times a day.

Even if a supervisor has approved something, if she has an opinion about it, she will reject it under the guise of doing what is best for the company, making it very difficult to get things done.

If she takes a dislike to someone, she will go to great lengths to get them removed.

She is so scheming that she even managed to get a supervisor removed.

If you value harmonious relationships with colleagues,

think very carefully before considering this place.

The colleagues get along well and even help each other by recommending job opportunities—great! The supervisor takes your home location into consideration and won’t assign you to a workplace that is too far away. I really appreciate that.

Cons

They fire you on the spot without paying severance, which violates the Labor Standards Act, and they also don’t provide pay in lieu of notice. In addition, the supervisor is somewhat arrogant and likes to put on airs and lecture people. I don’t think that’s very good; there is room for improvement.

Most of the colleagues in the office are nice.

Cons

Many senior managers were laid off in the first few months. Who can blame them, when they pay the Hong Kong managers so much?

The salaries of those sitting in the small rooms are frighteningly high, but whether they are really worth that much is another question.

There was a Hong Kong male manager in his early thirties—the one who often dressed very fashionably—who earned over 300,000 a month.

His computer screen was often left on men’s fashion websites. Making money was so easy for him—so enviable.

(However, this oddball has left, so he can’t be seen anymore.)

The drawbacks are too serious; I can't think of any advantages.

The office is very messy, and the corridors are filled with boxes.

Cons

I couldn't find Hong Kong Roots in Tianyancha, so I'm posting here instead.

On the third day after the interview, HR called to inform me that I had been accepted. After thinking it over the next day, I replied that I would take the position and asked HR to provide a formal offer. HR said the approval process had already begun and that the offer was expected to be emailed within one day. I didn't receive it the next day, so I called to ask. HR then said the supervisor was in a meeting and that they would definitely send it to me the following day. After waiting another day, I thought I shouldn't press too hard and decided to wait one more day. HR proactively called and said it would be sent before the end of the workday. However, before the end of the workday, HR called me to say that when the approval reached Hong Kong, headquarters decided to freeze the position because of the Wuhan epidemic. Anyone else seriously considering applying should be very careful!!!

Work experience: Counter sales associate

There is more money during the anniversary sale, and full-time employees receive a certain amount of performance bonuses. The air conditioning is very cool.

The company colleagues are all very friendly, with no backstabbing or infighting.

Cons

During the Lunar New Year, you may encounter some incredible difficult customers—such as customers who try on every size M jacket but get angry because they cannot pull up the zipper. In short, there are many difficult customers in the service industry, so be mentally prepared.

Climbing up high to retrieve merchandise can easily lead to falls (the ladder is very slippery, so be careful; if you fall and hit your hand, you could scrape off a layer of flesh).

It is extremely busy during the anniversary sale, and restocking is also very exhausting.

The company policies are quite good.

Just follow the company policies.

You can stay as long as you steadily receive a decent salary.

Cons

But some of the supervisors who aren’t at headquarters—ugh, they’re really awful.

They bring in a bunch of people through connections (marital connections, friendships, and so on), all of whom are fresh graduates from night schools or private universities.

I really don’t understand how a subsidiary of such a large group can recruit people like this.

They only tell those who are willing to do it to take on the exhausting work.

Even when they cause major problems, other supervisors in the company have to help clean up (even though they had already told them they couldn’t do it that way).

They simply have no qualifications to manage.

I think that supervisor should be taught a lesson.

The deputy supervisors on the other side aren’t like that at all.

One day, when I’m really fed up, I’m going to say it all.

No advantages

Cons

A very poor company. Even after agreeing on a start date, they informed me one week before that date that, due to internal organizational adjustments, the onboarding would be postponed by another month. They provided neither assurances nor trustworthy commitments or written documentation to the successful candidate. This irresponsible way of handling the situation left the candidate speechless and feeling unlucky, and even caused them to waste time waiting and miss out on other, better job opportunities. Anyone seriously considering applying should be careful.

Pros

Pros

Overall, it seems like a sound company.

1. During the interview, I was told that employees usually work normal hours. However, the HR representative and the design department manager gave different answers: one said there was overtime pay, while the other said compensatory leave would be provided.

(It seems that actually applying for overtime might not be easy.)

2. The design team is fairly large, and the work is divided into very specialized roles (which makes sense given that it is a large company).

3. The manager who conducted the interview seemed like a nice person, and overall, the interview was quite pleasant.

One additional point: during the interview, it was mentioned that there would be overtime during the peak season for sales events, especially since there are many store-related materials to produce, as you can imagine...

Cons

I received a rejection without any explanation. This position has been open for quite a long time, so I suspect they may be recruiting routinely; perhaps the position is not particularly necessary.

I was ghosted without even receiving a rejection. This position has been open for a long time, so I suspect they may be recruiting for it routinely; perhaps the position is not particularly necessary.

Colleagues get along well.

Cons

The main culprit behind talented employees leaving is often the company’s failure to realize that it has “stupid managers.”
