Pros

The hardware team regularly works overtime. There are people who voluntarily come in on weekdays and Saturdays. Apparently, the rate is NT$200 per hour. Recently, everything was moved back to the Wugu site, so the most senior people have returned to Wugu. Weekly meetings are held regularly. Many people have no idea what they are doing, but their weekly reports are longer than annual reports. There are also people who doze off all the time, and people who can make more than 40 trips a day just to get water or use the restroom. The hardware team is young, and the atmosphere is good. People often gather to chat and relax, but whether anyone is actually working is a matter of opinion. The firmware department has only three people: a highly capable but emotionally volatile manager who cannot manage people, likes doing his own thing, and does not like communicating with anyone unless it is work-related; a long-time employee who often looks for people to chat with; and a newcomer who has been there for two years but no one knows what they do. The company does not adjust salaries, and bonuses are handed out depending on the mood. Many people know how to slack off, while a few people bury themselves in work—few enough to count on one hand.

Cons

Low pay, little work, and close to home. Except for the hardware team, there is no overtime. Fixed salaries are not adjusted. At present, it appears that only the hardware department, which has people who know how to lead, offers opportunities to learn; the other departments probably make that difficult. New employees are required to perform at the annual party.

Pros

The people at the company are all nice. The electronics team regularly works overtime. There are many cliques. The electronics manager is very nice and will guide new employees. The hardware manager is also very nice and will chat with you whenever there’s nothing else to do. Basically, it’s an end-to-end operation. There are no bonuses for the three major holidays, but there is a performance bonus, with the amount depending on performance. If you do very well, the year-end bonus is more than one month’s salary; if you don’t, it’s less than half a month’s salary. The firmware supervisor doesn’t interact or chat much with people, but is extremely capable at getting things done and is somewhat emotional—I’ve seen them berate a hardware engineer first thing in the morning.

Cons

If you’re capable but just want to coast until retirement, you might as well stay here. After all, you’ll never get a raise—this has been confirmed. The grand prize at the year-end party is NT$30,000, and it’s always the same.

Pros

It’s the kind of dark office where everyone inside looks like an older senior student earning a salary.

The senior-student boss interviewing you won’t let you know who he is and doesn’t have a business card—he must be trying to maintain social distance.

He calls to invite you to an interview, and then the senior-student boss interviewing you asks, “Are you planning to work part-time at 7-Eleven?”

He also kindly recommends that you visit Tudigong and local temples to pray for wealth.

He says, “We’re a very positive company!”

Awesome!

Cons

The senior-student boss interviewing you is very concerned about you and says, “I really want to give you an opportunity!”

Please don’t! Thank you, thank you!

Pros

1. Large traditional-industry company

2. Meals are provided, but the cost is deducted from your pay

Cons

1. Not every department pays overtime

2. During the interview, it felt like the managers were not on the same page. The immediate supervisor and I seemed to click very well, but then the senior manager came in and immediately said, “You’re not the person we’re looking for.” I was dumbfounded.

Pros

None.....Just an interview

Cons

Shulin Plant Interview

Position: Materials Department-related personnel

Background: Approximately 8 years of experience

Current compensation: Monthly salary of approximately 40K (excluding overtime pay)

When you first arrive, they have you wait in a.........small guardhouse (handwriting your résumé), and only then do they conduct the interview.....so I guess it wasn't a waste of time

Interview duration: 60–90 minutes

Content: Self-introduction / past experience / achievements......then they mainly asked some hypothetical questions

But from the interviewer's questions, it was obvious that these were issues their company had encountered before

Then they asked about my expected compensation........because I had received 2 verbal offers........so I replied that the minimum would have to be 4XK

But I asked the interviewer in return: What is the approximate compensation range for this position at your company?

Interviewer: Uh...........to put it bluntly, ............would it be convenient to schedule a second interview later?

Only in the second interview can we answer.....the annual salary is approximately 13 months' worth

Later, I received no further response.................provided for everyone's reference
