Pros

1. The colleagues are easy to get along with and enjoy chatting. This is a good fit for people who don’t like overly quiet or dull work environments.

2. Milk tea is very inexpensive at the employee price.

3. Each month, there are two five-minute grace periods for being late.

4. The radio is played during work, so it isn’t too quiet.

Cons

Sharing this company's rules; this is unrelated to whether the company is good or bad.

1. You have to clean first every day (about 10–15 minutes); usually, the air conditioning can only be turned on after cleaning is finished.

2. Once the 8:30 bell rings, you can’t eat, and eating is not allowed at your desk. For lunch, everyone eats together in the restaurant at the back, or you can go out to eat on your own.

3. The boss does not like employees taking Mondays or Fridays off because they feel you are creating a long weekend. Unless there is a legitimate reason, you have to write down the reason for taking Monday or Friday off and obtain approval from both the supervisor and the boss. If you’re lucky, it may be approved quickly; if you’re unlucky, you’ll be lectured about it.

4. Paper leave forms are used, and you have to calculate your own number of leave days.

5. There is usually no gift for the three major festivals; occasionally, there may be a small gift.

6. There is a culture of working overtime under a responsibility-based system. Everyone generally leaves 10–30 minutes late instead of clocking out and leaving on time, but you won’t usually work very late, and there is no overtime pay.

7. Don’t expect too much for the year-end bonus; it is just a small red envelope.

8. The work is complicated and varied—or, to put it more positively, it provides diverse work experience.

Pros

None

Cons

In September, I applied for the Digital Marketing Specialist position at this company.

The first interview was with a Ms. Lin.

Her title was Executive Assistant to the General Manager, and she seemed to be the owner’s wife.

Afterward, the discussion went very well. During the conversation, she mentioned that a group of employees had resigned.

The following week, they notified me that I had been accepted.

Because they had not explained the bonus calculation method during the interview that day, Ms. Lin asked me to come in on a certain day to hear how the bonuses were calculated.

She also asked me to bring two headshots and my diploma so they could create my employee records.

Later, on the day I went to hear about the bonuses, I listened to the explanation.

I then told her that I needed some time to consider it,

After all, I was comparing three other companies at the same time.

Ms. Lin replied that they needed to submit my information to the general manager for review and gave some other reasons (I honestly did not understand what other information they still needed).

She required me to tell them by the next day whether I was interested in starting work.

I informed her according to her timeline that I was willing to start work.

During the phone call, I was very confused: hadn’t you already said that I had been accepted?

What are you waiting for now? What you should be waiting for is my answer about whether I want to join the company, right?

I do not understand what you are waiting for your general manager to do.

Later, they tactfully told me that they would contact me by Friday.

I was already quite unhappy at that point. You were the ones who said I had been accepted.

What else was I supposed to wait for? I truly do not understand. If you were not sure whether to hire me,

why deceive job seekers like this?

In order to accept your job offer, I turned down or put off the other three companies.

In return, you played me, because you did not contact me at all on Friday!

This company seems extremely terrible. For its own convenience and to make screening candidates easier,

it tells job seekers they have been accepted in a deceptive manner, apparently to tie up candidates’ time while the company decides whom to hire.

Then, once the company decides whom it wants to hire, it does not notify candidates within the timeframe it promised.

I strongly advise other job seekers not to interview or work at this company.

I believe the comments below are enough to advise you not to join!

Regarding the salary adjustment and other things mentioned during the first interview, after reading the comments below, I am very glad I did not join!

Pros

I really can't think of anything enjoyable.

Cons

The list goes on and on...

I didn't learn much; I was already overwhelmed just handling a pile of miscellaneous tasks.

I also had to double as a systems specialist, optimizing the new system's features. If I didn't optimize it, it would affect my own workflow.

If it didn't work well, I still had to deal with the system vendor myself and figure out a solution...

Even though I wasn't an accountant or a customer service representative, I still had to take on both roles.

There was no comprehensive employee training or SOP process. If customer service was handled improperly, they would turn around and question me about it.

My supervisor at the time only took care of their own matters and provided no assistance with anything else...

Pros

Employee product discounts

Cons

The office supervisor is a senior-level nepotism hire. If you are considering applying for an important position, it is advisable to gather more information.

Pros

Employee purchases of products are very cost-effective.

Cons

Annual salary:

Working hours: 8:30–17:30. An overtime culture under a responsibility-based work system.

Year-end bonus: Had been with the company for a little over one month and received 600.

Employee stock purchase:

Bonus: Performance bonuses are issued once every two months. For example, bonuses for January and February are paid at the end of April... In addition, the amount is rounded down unconditionally at the hundreds digit.

Job responsibilities: Order processing and promotional campaign planning.

Review: The company is located on Taiwan Boulevard, so transportation is convenient, but commuting traffic is congested. After the work bell rings at 8:30, employees are not allowed to eat breakfast; otherwise, the supervisor is also subject to a fine. Despite offering low salaries and benefits, the company only wants to recruit experienced employees. The turnover rate is extremely high; five people had already resigned before I left. The owner's wife often distributes food that is nearing or past its expiration date and disregards the Labor Standards Act. Company policy requires employees to submit requests for annual leave in advance, with a minimum request of half a day. Use of annual leave is prohibited during peak seasons. One supervisor is a relative of the owner and is extremely emotional, easily shouting at people. Considering all of the above, it is no wonder the turnover rate is high. Anyone considering interviewing at this company should think twice. The combination of low salary and benefits and the female owner's arbitrary announcement of new rules is already extremely distressing!
