The office environment is good.

Some colleagues are very nice (probably because they are also newcomers).

The office environment is good, but the company’s systems are inadequate. In the headquarters departments, senior managers are just as oppressive toward newcomers as described in the post below. They only make sarcastic remarks, and their way of assigning tasks is passive-aggressive: they either send a message with just a photo or leave a pile of documents on your desk while you are away without explaining anything. Even when a matter has been confirmed by a supervisor as being fine, you may still be criticized after carrying it out as instructed. The group is severely understaffed, and turnover is so high that there are not enough teachers. Everyone, regardless of whether they are administrative staff or even cleaners, has to help pick up students from school. This was not mentioned during the interview.

Administrative positions do not receive a perfect-attendance bonus. The explanation is that the bonus is intended to regulate attendance, and that only other positions, such as teachers, receive it. The main advantage is probably that there is not much overtime, because you can only apply to exchange it for compensatory leave anyway. In any case, even if you leave work on time, the group chat will continue buzzing. During the interview, be sure to confirm your desired salary range; otherwise, the company will use various explanations to offer you the lowest salary in the range.

1. There is absolutely no one-hour lunch break. After eating, you go straight back to work, and I've even heard HR mock colleagues who took a nap during lunch.

2. HR is extremely scary—whatever you do, don't get on her bad side. She is incredibly manipulative and very sarcastic, saying nice things to people's faces and badmouthing them behind their backs.

3. If you want to experience workplace bullying, come here. There are lots of cliques, and you can hear colleagues badmouthing one another everywhere.

4. The uniform requirements are troublesome and strict, and the uniforms provided are old, previously worn by someone else—super disgusting.

5. Every manager has a bad temper and will directly berate people in public. Even non-managers will side with the managers and join in berating newcomers. You will develop a strong mind and body.

6. The interview is extremely perfunctory. After joining, no one hands anything over to you, yet you're expected to be ready to hit the ground running.

7. Every mistake is your fault; it is never the fault of the clique-affiliated managers.

8. Anyone can boss you around, make sarcastic remarks at you, or mock you—whether it's HR, Finance, IT, or the COO.

9. There is no overtime pay.

10. Management changes its orders from day to day, then blames you for doing work for nothing.

The applicant proactively submitted a résumé, and after HR replied “agreed,” there was no further follow-up—no interview time was scheduled, and it was unclear whom to contact, giving the impression that HR did not know what they were supposed to do. The manager conducting the on-site interview seemed completely uninformed, as though HR had asked them to help with the interview at the last minute. The position applied for had nothing to do with teaching, yet they insisted on a teaching demonstration and required two interviews. The initial interview was on Monday, but by Friday afternoon there was still no news. Only after calling personally did the applicant manage to speak with the mid-level manager for the second interview. I will give them one more chance to see whether my impression improves after the second interview.

Senior employees are also very enthusiastic and check in with new hires from time to time to see whether they are passionate about their work. If they are not passionate, they will remind them to show enthusiasm, smile often, and chat and interact with them during working hours. Otherwise, they will be reminded that they lack team spirit. If you want to experience going back to elementary school days—little girls saying, “I want to be friends with you; I don’t want to be friends with so-and-so”—and relive those youthful memories, you are welcome to join this team.
