Members were invited but ended up having to clean the toilets, using their own time off to do so
I worked part-time here a few years ago. After closing, we still had to clean the store and attend meetings, and we normally didn’t get off work until nearly midnight. However, they had already clocked you out at 10 p.m., so there was essentially no overtime pay. Most of the staff greeted customers with sour faces and spoke as if everything they said was self-evident; only the on-site contractors were somewhat easier to get along with. The maintenance department always had an endless amount of things to fix, haha.
Meetings = the store manager’s humiliation sessions. If sales targets weren’t met, you could expect to be chewed out mercilessly.
Working here meant watching your supervisors do things in foolish ways, then continuing to poison the next young person who came in with enthusiasm for working in the service industry.
