Cons

Long post—read at your own discretion (the interviewer was a female manager)

After interviewing with so many companies, today’s interview was the worst experience I have ever had with an interviewer. The interviewer was highly prejudiced and showed no respect for the interviewee from beginning to end. This was already the second interview. Normally, if a company notifies you about a second interview, it should mean that, after consideration, they want to learn more about you and have the intention to hire you. But from beginning to end, she showed no interest in getting to know me and only repeatedly asked, “What questions do you have?” I came to the company for an interview—shouldn’t the interviewer be the one asking me questions? I did not know the company, so the nature of the work, salary, and benefits should all have been introduced to me. Then I could ask questions. If nothing is explained, what am I supposed to ask?

Applicants are also nervous during interviews, and the answers they give are what they themselves consider reasonable and appropriate. However, throughout the interview, the manager kept scrolling on her phone and did not listen attentively. She even asked, “Can you say that again?” I do not think I said anything unclear at the time. Instead, it was the interviewer’s constant phone use that made me feel extremely disrespected. During an interview, rather than giving the interviewee confidence, she made the applicant feel disrespected.

Before the interview, I had already done my homework online. Many people have shared their experiences interviewing for business positions at this company. From last year until now, the company has continued hiring and has also continuously been criticized by netizens, who all say that it is a company that does not respect interviewees. During the interview, I said that I liked the company’s atmosphere and culture and that it felt very lively. The interviewer actually replied, “You’ve never been here before, so how would you know?” I complimented your company, but in return I received a sarcastic tone and was immediately dampened. I have never seen an interview process go so poorly; it was awkward throughout. The interview was scheduled for a total of 30 minutes, but 20 minutes were spent waiting, leaving only about 10 minutes of actual interview time. It made me feel as though I was being dismissed perfunctorily.

If you truly want to hire people and value everyone who comes for an interview, please do not spend the time on two interviews when the process is extremely inefficient, the discussion is not detailed, and information is only half-explained. Please make sure a candidate is suitable for the position before sending a second interview invitation; otherwise, you are simply wasting everyone’s time. If you want to find talented people, please first review the interviewer’s attitude. This is my advice to your company. Whether you hire me or not is one matter, but one thing is certain: this interview experience was terrible for me. I went from being full of anticipation to wasting my time and leaving frustrated. Your company’s interview was truly the worst I have ever experienced!

The above reflects my actual personal experience and personal opinion.

For job seekers considering interviewing here, I suggest thinking twice.
