Pros

The boss owns many companies: Shengxu / Xuyuan / Xuyu / Jianghua Global—all of them deserve some attention.

There are plenty of restrooms; otherwise, there’s not much worth staying for.

Cons

An extremely awful company. The atmosphere is unbelievably terrible, and the people there may not even know how to speak properly. They communicate by yelling—their tone is extremely aggressive. Even when there’s nothing going on, they make a big production out of it, leaving you wondering who they’re putting on a show for. The turnover rate is extremely high; many employees with 3–5+ years of tenure have all left. Anyone who still joins is honestly a fool.

The difference in treatment between men and women there is extremely serious. They often ask female employees to do miscellaneous tasks such as ordering drinks, taking out trash, and other trivial chores. When they want male colleagues or new hires to help, even senior male colleagues will defend them. It really makes you want to file a complaint under the Gender Equality in Employment Act.

Pros

The first phone interview was fairly pleasant, although they mentioned that you would need to help with all of the businesses the boss invests in (including tasks completely unrelated to the position).

Cons

The evening before, HR suddenly sent a notice about a final interview the next morning. I happened not to check my inbox and only saw the email the next morning, so I quickly replied to ask whether the time could be changed. I still haven't received a reply to this day........ I guess I was simply marked as a no-show.

Pros

1. Complies with the Labor Standards Act, so there is no need to worry about late salary payments.

2. Flexible working hours (you can leave work at 5:30 p.m.)

3. Two months’ year-end bonus, employee travel subsidies, clubs, occasional employee gatherings, free motorcycle parking spaces,

three seasonal gifts/bonuses (Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival; after completing one year, each is worth up to NT$2,000).

4. Stable ERP systems, divided into new (C#) and legacy (VB) systems. It is relatively difficult to work with new technologies, though you may occasionally get to work with apps and front-end development.

5. IT is divided into Departments 1 and 2 and the Project Department. There are excellent, easygoing IT colleagues, and the managers look after their team members.

The manager of Department 1 lacks technical depth.

The manager of Department 2 is very capable and meticulous in their approach to work, and is someone you can learn from.

Cons

1. The Project Department has an extremely problematic female PM whose job consists of forwarding user requirement emails and enforcing due dates.

She cannot understand code or distinguish between Git commands (remote, fetch), knows nothing when asked about requirements,

treats every task as urgent, and dumps both the tasks and her personal negative emotions on the engineers.

She shirks responsibility and speaks ill of others; interacting with her can be treated as a form of personal cultivation.

2. The desktop computers are very slow.

3. No overtime pay.

4. A Hong Kong–owned company with a Taiwan-based operation but a Hong Kong corporate culture.

5. High employee turnover.
